We booked a room with twin beds and I have to say the room was tiny with not much space to move. The rooms were also very dated. However, we did not intend to be in our room much of the time so this was not an issue. Rooms were still clean and comfortable, however the bedding could have been... More

This hotel is now attracting a very loud crowd and the rooms are becoming very run down. The breakfast is very basic and staff rude and many not speaking English. I guess any hotels with 500 rooms is a low grade hotel .. Locations great but that's about it.

Great Location, 15 min walk to Piccudilly Circus, 25 min walk to Big Ben, Very short walk to Soho. Resturants all around just take the time to find them Staff was very professional, helpful & friendly. The room was small but that is what I expected when I booked it. I will stay again on my next trip to London.

Stayed in the hotel for 3 nights, room only - no breakfast. Good central location for shopping, theatre etc. We only used it as a base so did not try bar or restaurant as there are so many other interesting places to eat & drink in a short walking distance. Room was clean & adequate, although the hair dryer in... More

I have stayed in this hotel before and only booked it again because of the area. In general there is nothing wrong with the hotel, apart from it being the hub for many tour bus type of visitors and the reception and the lifts were always crowded (a good sign for the business but I prefer smaller, less en mass,... There were regular coach loads of people comming in and out of this hotel all day, very cramped lifts, you could wait for four-five minutes easily for a lift, rooms are small and could do with a refurbish but the room I got was fairly clean, my colleague was not so lucky and had to get his changed. The bar... More

I have just returned from a weekend at St Giles in London, along with 5 friends. This hotel is very central and it was my second visit. The rooms are on the small side, but clean and tidy and all you need for a London visit. The staff were very nice , especially the concierge. Although the Chinese restaurant was... More

The hotel was very busy and we had to wait to get checked in. We were given a very small room (you could not swing a cat) adjacent to the lift landing on the fourth floor which was extremely noisy. We got no sleep that night as you could hear the lift arrival bell on the adjacent landing throughout the... More

The staff are nice and helpful. The buffet breakfast is pretty good- you certainly won't go hungry and the coffee machine is great! ...shame about the actual rooms though- by the time I found a small nook to put my suitcase down I then couldn't walk out of the room without side-stepping and squeezing my way out- the rooms were... I can understand why other reviews might have been a bit disappointed by their stay at the St. Giles in Bloomsbury... but honestly folks, what do you expect for the low price and great location? The Four Seasons? I think the bad reviews have a lot to do with overly inflated expectations. As a business traveler, I find this hotel... More

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
