I stayed in a standard double room for one night only and it was exactly as described by prev reviewers......compact and noisy. We were 4 floors up but on the main road so with the windows open could hear all the traffic down below. The room was nothing special. .......more budget hotel but with a grand exterior and quite small... More

£200 for a rabbit hutch room is obscene. Noisy corridors and tiny room are completely inadequate for the price. On the plus side staff were pleasant and efficient. Feel like I'm staying in a guest room of small house

This is a hotel that is ideally placed for the theatres. It is clean but rooms are basic. Due to its large size and number of guests it is very impersonal. We went to a show at the theatre royal, drury lane which was only a five minute walk away. There are many places to eat locally, however, due to... More

My old friend and I stayed their for 2 nights in London, on a guys trip only to go to an Airshow. Very nice clean, good resturant hotel in the middle of the city walking distance to everything we wanted.. Rooms are small but for 2 men on a whirlwind trip it was just fine.

Had a chance to spend a couple of days in London. The Strand Palace Hotel has a fabulous address, lovely facade, tired interiors and least of all, the room we stayed in was so small and tight, you had to move furniture in order to move about. A bit disappointing overall considering the location was near many theaters, restaurants and... More

I went to the SPH from November 26 till 28 with my mom. The checkin went smoothly and we could leave our luggage as our room was not ready yet and then left for some shopping in the city. When we got back at night we got our room. It was a twin room which was perfect as we both... More

We stayed here and visited some of the tourist attractions for those who are adventureous you can walk to most attractions and if your unsure there is a tube station close. You have plenty to in Covent garden if you don't wish to travel around. Hotel was perfect base room service and food brilliant. Our room could have done with... More

My regular hotel of choice when working in London and I'm glad to say that it didn't disappoint. Nice to see the place looking festive and the facade all spruced up. As bustling as ever, the staff coped admirably with the crowds and maintained a professional appearance. My room was a small double, clean and cozy, although the bath showed... More

The room on the booking site for the Strand Palace was described as a 'cosy single'. They should have added the word 'brilliant' as well. A mix of everything I love in a hotel - adjustable heating, so no need to be boiled or frozen, a good strong shower that doesn't need a science degree to operate, generous wardrobe space,... More

Spent 3nights at this hotel a few days ago. The location is excellent as it is in the middle of The Strand, so you can get to the theaters, Covent Garden, Trafalgar Square etc by foot. You also have the Covent Garden tube and Embarkment Tube close by. The location of the hotel is really its best part. It is... More

Covent Garden
Whether you're headed here to check out the multitude of shops, theaters, cafes, pubs, and restaurants, or simply to be among the multitude of people who pass through this pretty part of town, you'll love soaking up the festive and historic atmosphere in and around Covent Garden. Even if you don't have tickets to the opera or a show at one of the many famous theaters here, don't be surprised if find yourself captivated by some impromptu act of a street performer wowing the crowds in Covent Garden's Piazza. If you do have tickets, you'll be pleased to note that many of the local eateries accommodate theatergoers with prix fixe menus, early dinners, and later than usual opening hours.
