If you see this hotel from outside in the middle of the Strand, not far from Trafalgar, what a wonderful building! And also entering the hall, really nice impression! But...that's it. Staff polite but quite cold, but above all room very small, hot (ok, outside there were some 35°C!) the shower with an incredible annoying whistle, and the morning i... More

Single bed with allot of noise outside. No aircon just a fan. Breakfast was ok but Maître'd not friendly. Most staff is friendly except the baggage collections. Nothing to write home about. Suppose this is what you get if you want to pay less in London. Not 4 star thought

Fantastic hotel, located in the heart of London. Close to bars, restaurants and shops. Staff were efficient and friendly. Bar prices were slightly expensive but the hotel was near lots of bars, it wasn't an issue. Breakfast was superb with a huge choice to suit everyone's requirements.

Admittedly the weather is unusually hot and stuffy, but the room had no air con and the window would only open beyond 3" on one side "for health and safety". The result was a room too hot to stay in when I checked in, and although it cooled a little later, I tossed and turned and was 'sticky' all night.... More

Location is fantastic, right in the heard of the West End. Price is good considering its location but reflects that fact that you won't get luxury. Rooms are basic and small, and a bit tired. Having said that the rooms were clean, the staff were friendly and helpful.

Clearly a hotel in central London isn't going to be cheap, but the room was disappointingly small and airless for the price and the coffee at breakfast was like dishwater. On the other hand, the cockroaches were the biggest I've seen in the UK.

My sister and I stayed at the hotel while on a vacation to London. Let me start off by saying that our room and bathroom was very nice. However, some of the staff were a little rude. On our first morning in London we went to the concierge to convert our money into pounds. The man working quoted us a... More

The Strand Palace is a bit tired, to be honest. Public areas are okay, but once you get into corridors and rooms it could do with some sprucing up. Everything provided worked as it should. I found the hotel very noisy, even a room on the back of the hotel (which the check in guy said was in the quiter... More

Had previously stayed at the Strand Palace and it has definitely gone downhill. Yes, the location is great but the loose tiles on the bathroom floor, the lack of any air conditioning which requires leaving the windows open to the noise cannot justify the price paid. Even the breakfast wasn't as good as it used to be. This is my... More
