I stayed at the Strand Palace, London UK for the first time, for 8 nights, December 7-15 2014. I always book directly with hotels when I travel but this time I used Rocket Miles, also my first time, and booked into an executive single room. Reservation was received with no issues at the hotel and I got the room I'd... More

Our third stay in the Strand Palace... the location is excellent, central Strand, short walk to Covent Garden, Somerset House, Embankment, Trafalgar Square etc etc. The hotel is a good standard, breakfast is excellent. Minor issues,: there are only 3 lifts in the lobby, one was out of action for three days !! whilst we were there, so waiting time... More

Had a "cosy" room booked but got an upgrade to a standard single. Tiny but functional room, clean and tidy. Toilet barely useable to sit down on as right next to a wall, very strange. For the price and location it was fine. Breakfast not bad but nowhere near as good as a premier inn one for twice the money!... More

We stayed one night at the Strand Palace to have 2 days London touring. It is brilliantly situated, Covent Garden 5 mins walk, Trafalgar Square 5 mins, Embankment - Big Ben, 5 mins and tube lines both very close. Reading the other reviews I was a little apprehensive but I can honestly say it was a fantastic hotel! The rooms... More

I stayed for one night as part of 60th birthday celebrations - the bottle of prosecco and birthday card found in the room on arrival was a lovely surprise. The room was comfortable and spacious enough (for sitting and enjoying the prosecco.....) with an immaculate bathroom. The lounge bar was a lovely area to meet friends for drinks and of... More

In between London apartments we had a night booked here through work. Well, location is great for covent garden, restaurants, bars and shops... but the hotel is incredibly dated with a time warp entrance and the service and rooms to match. Dingy, run down and just not representative of 2014 and central London.

Just returned from a 2 night stay at SPH. we booked an Executive Room on a high floor. We got what we asked for, the seventh floor and in the middle so no noise. Nothing to look at but better than the noise at the front. Room was a good size with a settee and armchair and a very comfortable... More

I stayed in a standard double room for one night only and it was exactly as described by prev reviewers......compact and noisy. We were 4 floors up but on the main road so with the windows open could hear all the traffic down below. The room was nothing special. .......more budget hotel but with a grand exterior and quite small... More

£200 for a rabbit hutch room is obscene. Noisy corridors and tiny room are completely inadequate for the price. On the plus side staff were pleasant and efficient. Feel like I'm staying in a guest room of small house

Staying in Covent Garden

Neighborhood Profile
Covent Garden
Whether you're headed here to check out the multitude of shops, theaters, cafes, pubs, and restaurants, or simply to be among the multitude of people who pass through this pretty part of town, you'll love soaking up the festive and historic atmosphere in and around Covent Garden. Even if you don't have tickets to the opera or a show at one of the many famous theaters here, don't be surprised if find yourself captivated by some impromptu act of a street performer wowing the crowds in Covent Garden's Piazza. If you do have tickets, you'll be pleased to note that many of the local eateries accommodate theatergoers with prix fixe menus, early dinners, and later than usual opening hours.
