My husband and I have stayed at this hotel twice. It is very centrally located, close to Trafalgar Square, Leicester Square and Piccadilly Circus. Having said this it is quiet, relaxed and the staff are very professional and extremely helpful. Covent Garden, Oxford Street and London's theatretland are all within easy walking distance. The London tour buses stop just round... More

We like this hotel as it is very central & yet QUIET. The ground floor restaurant where we have breakfast has a particularly attractive view of the street life going on just behind the National Gallery & the room we had was well-equipped. It's expensive, but it is very convenient for central London.

My experience with the customer service from Thistle Trafalgar Square has left me absolutely flabbergasted to say the least. I was a guest of the hotel for 4 nights, beginning April 16th 2015, and had traveled for celebratory reasons, unfortunately the trip ended on a not-so-celebratory note. I left the hotel hurriedly on Friday 17th April, to conquer some tourist... More

Located in a quiet street just off Pall Mall, the Thistle Trafalgar Square is an ideal location from which to explore London on foot. Within a few minutes of leaving the hotel you can walk to Piccadilly Circus, Trafalgar Square, The National Portrait Gallery, the theatres on both Haymarket and Shaftesbury Avenue and the restaurants in China Town. The room... More

We were booked in here by my husband's employer for one night and on requesting a quiet room were allocated an upgraded room on the top floor. There was very little traffic noise which was great - but at times there was a very persistent loud hum coming from somewhere above the ceiling, audible even through earplugs. Perhaps there was... Surprisingly quiet and easy to reach hotel in the very central London, behind the National Gallery, with Easy access from Picadilly and Lecester Square. Great bedding, service and breakfast. Pity WiFi is paid.

The hotel is extremely well located if you are looking to stay walking distance from all the important sights, the room is very cozy and nice, with a small living room, and everything you may need to have a relaxing good night sleep. What exceeded our expectations, was the front desk staff, specially Valentina who greeted us when we first... More

Me and my Mum stayed here for one night as it was a quick walk from the hotel to the VE Day Concert at Horse Guards Parade. The price for the room was quite expensive, however you get what you pay for. And we certainly paid for a lovely spacious room, which was clean and had everything we needed. The... More

Staying in Trafalgar Square / Embankment

Neighborhood Profile
Trafalgar Square / Embankment
With its iconic Nelson’s Column, majestic oversized lions and brightly-lit fountains, Trafalgar Square is not just considered the heart of this bustling London hub, but the very core of the city itself. Beyond this esteemed gathering place are more famous icons, as well as a disproportionate numbers of the city’s most popular cultural attractions including the National Gallery and many West End theaters. Along the way to these major sites are quiet lanes and antiquated pubs to discover, as well as riverside vistas to enjoy on the embankment. With a calendar full of celebratory events, any time of year is a fine time to visit.
