When we talk about luxury, yes, Harrods is more luxurious than Selfridges in many ways. However, sometimes we don't just want luxury. We need to find a balance, we need to shop, not just browse because everything on the rail are far too expensive. I think Selfridges kind of reaching this balance. In menswear floor, we can see luxury brands... More

The Selfridge is in the best spot for shopping on Oxford street. It allows you to go back and forward with bulky bags. The room was ok, could be better but would need a lot of money spent on it. The entrance is very nice, big chandeliers and mirrors, so the plain decor upstairs is a bit underwhelming. Breakfast was... More

Great small selection of cocktails to drink on the 1st floor of the men's department. Great to chill after heavy Christmas shopping in Oxford Street and Selfridges. Great bar to relax and watch the shopper rush :-)

The situation is really good, but the noise, and the small rooms are a big letdown. The breakfast room is too small for the size of the hotel. The staff is trying to keep customers happy. Also I think that the hotel is in bad need of some renovations!

The Hotel is situated in a perfect location. I really wonder why they don't renovate it. We had a late arrival due to a flight delay and we had previously inform ,in time, the hotel about our condition. The rooms were pre-paid. They told us that there is no problem. When we arrived at the hotel the front desk manager... More

I stayed here a while ago but had a deal so didn't pay anything near the 200 a night someone mentioned. For what I paid (think it was about 70 a night) it was about right. I have to say I really enjoyed it, but then I wasn't looking for quality or good food, just a base to shop and... More

Small rooms but you can expect that in London. However, very good location. Very good. i think the management might like to do some spending on rooms. Good hotel otherwise.

check in was efficient but the rooms were so small. I guess thats the London hotel style for this budget. The eating places around the hotel are brilliant. highly recommended. The service is nothing to write home about. Its good for the business traveller not if you want leisure. I am sure you can find warmth somewhere else.

I was doing some collaborative work with somebody from another US company. She made the arrangements for where we would stay and the agenda of visits we'd be making to prospective Market research companies. So when she said we were booked into the Selfridge Hotel. My thoughts in order were, "Wow thats cool" and "I'm glad I'm not paying". Well... More

Nice lobby but otherwise very scruffy and a bit grubby-our curtain fell off on the first night. Also some noise from traffic etc. After a lot of complaining we moved to another equally scruffy room on a different floor -this one had ripped wallpaper but at least it was quiet. Stayed here for four nights. The buffet breakfast wasn't great-... More

Staying in Marylebone

Neighborhood Profile
Marylebone offers what so many London neighborhoods cannot: a village feel coupled with urban convenience. Much of its success rests in its location. Wedged between the northeastern corner of Hyde Park and the southern end of Regent's Park and with a number of Tube stations within easy reach, Marylebone is as pedestrian friendly as Central London gets. The bustling shopping mecca of Oxford Street separates it from Soho and Mayfair, exclusive Regent Street marks its border with Fitzrovia, and cosmopolitan Edgware Road serves as its western edge. Within this enviably situated quarter are an array of outstanding restaurants (from Michelin darlings to down and dirty cheeseburgers), an impressive assortment of independently owned shops, and some of the city's quietest and most pleasant nooks, crannies and cobbled lanes.
