I've been to 1001 Travelodges over time, most are the same copycat design, rooms look so its nice to see soemthing different. Was here for three nights. Very helpful and welcoming reception staff, good banter, always nice after a long trip, given a single room front facing on the first floor so was concerned on noise and traffic but unlike... More

Not to the usual high standards. Areas looked a little run down, cracked tiles in bathroom, toilet handle felt like it could come off at any point, and shower was not that powerful. Room was noisy (yes its London, yes its on a main road, but should be adequately noise insulated) Television reception was awful, experienced sound / picture delay... More

I had the opportunity to stay for seven nights at the Travelodge Central London Farringdon in January. Even though the hotel has seen better days the staff that work there from the reception to the restaurant waiters and cleaners, they all make it a memorable visit. It was interesting that I received an upgrade from a single bed to a... More

Got a good value night for just over £60 which mid week in London is great for a clean safe convenient location. Not overly impressed with anything but no complaints either and it did what I needed it to do. Ate in a great Indian just down the road and wasn't booked in for breakfast so can't comment regarding food.... More

Excellent value for basic accommodation. Bathroom small & dated but serviceable. Very limited parking spaces. Although discounted for guests, parking is very expensive. Walking distance to tube or buses. Nice bar for a night cap to round off a lovely day as a tourist.

Had a few days away in London, booked into the Farringdon, I've written two bad reviews, this wasn't so bad, there's only one thing that let it down, was that I was on the first floor at the front of the hotel, no nets for privacy and windows that needed a clean outside and in.

I pre booked this hotel through travel lodge web site thinking if I booked in advance I would get the best price. This was not the case, it was later advertised for £6.00 less had I waited and booked nearer the time. The outside of the hotel is quite grim but I suppose curb appeal wasn't really an issue! Location... More

Whilst the room was quite outdated it was clean and had what we needed for our stay, however it was the reception staff that really made our stay. They were extremely welcoming and could not do enough to help. I only wish this level of service was offered everywhere. One of the best hotel stays I've experienced.

Staying in Clerkenwell

Neighborhood Profile
Clerkenwell
Owing to its proximity to Smithfield Market – the site of an ancient meat market which remains in operation today – Clerkenwell boasts a plethora of globally renowned restaurants, fabulous local eateries, and some of London's favorite pubs. This isn't merely a focal point for all things foodie though. Spend enough time wondering through the area's maze of streets and you might become accustomed to the litany of slinky models passing between Clerkenwell's handful of fashion houses. Far outnumbering the models are craftspeople and designers, many of them are more than happy to welcome visitors into their studios and showrooms.
