Yes location is great - within walking distance to Kings Cross and Angel however this hotel is desperately in need of a complete refit and modernisation programme and is not up to the standard you would usually expect from a travel lodge.

Five nights in July in sweltering heat and no air conditioning. The room was adequate in size although the bathroom was a bit small, really only room for one person at a time. The big problem was the lack of air conditioning and the window was restricted to open only an inch or so. Even when it cooled a little... More

After staying in many travelodges over the years I found this to be the most disappointing. We arrived and had to wait 40 mins to check in even though we were after the check in time. The room we stayed in had a musky smell to it which wasn't great. When we were checking out on our final day we... More

My wife and I stayed here for a 3 night break in London. The hotel was clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The positioning was great - bus route outside and tube stations within easy walking distance.

This is our first time staying with the Travel Lodge room402 .Very disappointed with our stay for what we paid.. When we arrived about 1 p.m, even though the room was ready for us we still had to pay the £10 for early check in.. The storage room for baggage was apparently full up, we only had small weekend bags... More

I stayed in July during a heatwave which was exacerbated by the heated towel rail in the room. It was unbearable to stay in, so don't go in July! Also, the water pressure in the shower was poor. I also resented the £5 charge to leave baggage after check out. I have never been to a hotel that charges for... More

Very central, but unpleasant. No air conditioning, and my room was absurdly hot. There was a fan and a window that opens part way, which were of very little help. Room faces the road, which is very busy and loud. No hot water during my stay, as boiler had broke. The bathroom is tiny. Decor is dated and unattractive. There... More

Despite being advertised as being refurbished when we booked our room (220) was very tired and worn. Ventilation was inadequate and for 2 nights it was like sleeping in an oven with an electric blanket on. Free standing fan inadequate and traffic too noisy to leave window open. Hot water broken for 24 hours also.
