Stayed here for a long weekend. This hotel is in fantastic location, only 2 minute walk from nearest Tube and 10-15 minute walk from Covent Garden. The staff are very friendly and professional at check-in. The service was of high quality throughout our stay and the opportunity to leave luggage for the day was very welcome. We stayed in rooms... Great location for a leisurely afternoon tea, we chose to stay in the air conditioned conservatory as the beautiful courtyard temperature was too hot. Nicely presented food, were given more sandwiches on request (not charged), 2 scones each with generous helpings of cream and jam, 3 medium cakes each - the voucher also included a bottle of Prosecco. Staff friendly... More

Enjoyed one of my favourite pastimes in a lovely hotel. Had a choice of seating and chose the small outside garden with running fountain. On another occasion had chosen to sit inside on the very comfortable sofas. Sandwiches both brown bread and white were very tasty and had plenty of filling, the scones plain and fruit were warm again with... More

Thus small boutique hotel is in a great location, very quiet yet close to underground and comfortable walking distance to many attractions The rooms were pleasant, individual and had everything we needed The staff were pleasant and helpful I will definitely stay here again But do not stay here if you are expecting the corporate conformity of the big chain... We've stayed at the Academy several times over the last couple of years and always enjoy our stay there. The hotel is ideally situated for a stay in London, being within walking distance from Euston Station and then a short walk to Covent Garden and the West End theatres and attractions. The staff are always very helpful and friendly, and... More

I can't say enough good things about the Academy. It's location is fabulous and close enough that you can walk to the theaters and other popular tourist spots. The hotel has no lifts, but the staff carried our bags up several flights of stairs for us! All the staff was very friendly and helpful. I will definitely stay here in... More

My friend and I stayed here for 4 days. I really liked the hotel. We had supplies to make tea, which makes me really happy. The rooms were great, actually just what we needed. It is not a cheap hotel at all, but it is good, and the location is fantastic. Shoutout to the staff, they were very nice and... More

Dear Romy-Joelle V Thank you for your kind review of the Hotel - we are pleased you both had an enjoyable stay. It is also superb that the memories of the Olympics are still fresh in our minds - what a fantastic Summer in London that was. We look forward to welcoming back to the Hotel in the near future.... I booked a last minute break for last Sunday night via Late Rooms and got a real bargain. The hotel is in an ideal location, close to Euston, within walking distance of the West End, with plenty of shops, restaurants and attractions close by. I asked for a quiet single room and the one I got was perfect, situated through... More

Dear sj1977 Thank you for your kind review of The Academy - we're thrilled that you had a pleasant stay with us. Indeed, our Central London location means we are in walking distance from all the main hubs - Euston, St Pancras, Kings Cross all within walking distance. Notwithstanding this, we're delighted that you enjoyed the peace and quiet of... More

We got group on voucher for an afternoon tea with Prosecco bottle. From very beginning we felt a little bit strange, no signs to restaurant or something like that, we had to ask reception to call someone. Firstly we've been offered to seat in library, that would be great if not the fact that on adjoining patio group of builders... More

This hotel looks great on the website, and the 'boutique' label is always attractive. It's in a great spot in Bloomsbury, very quiet, round the corner from restaurants, shops and bars. It could be lovely. There are some very nice little gardens and the building is full of character but it's drab and shabby, especially the corridors, staircases etc. My... More

Dear vigonose Thank you for your recent review of the Hotel, albeit regrettable that we did not have the opportunity to address the situation whilst you were our guests. I extend my personal apologies for the housekeeping and maintenance issues you experienced. Furthermore, I do appreciate how the lack of care and attention further compounded your disappointment. I look forward... More

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
