Let me start by thanking Roy -- I believe the asst manager-- as a demonstration of the excellent service received at The Academy. In our rush to get to Heathrow, we left one bag in the lobby. We felt like idiots, and called from the airport...he was great. He offered to get a motorbike courier to bring it out, but... More

Our room was in the attic up 60 plus steps. cute little rm and it was comfortable and quiet but up 60 steps. Is breakfast really worth over $20 a piece? A nice breakfast on Story St. was only about7 and fine . Free apples help but doesn't lessen the mountain climbin experience. Back one evening and I did need... More

We stayed for one night, but found the room and hotel to be absolutely lovely. The room was a good size for a standard double, loads of hot water/good pressure and the outside terrace was peaceful and beautiful. We didn't eat, as had plans already, but the room service menu looked to be good prices. Will book again next time... More

I stayed for one night in September 2014. The room a double was pitifully tiny with a matched bathroom. Actually impossible to towel down in the bathroom. The room was delightful despite its size. Unfortunately the breakfast staff questioned my reservation which included full breakfast for a supplement of £12 whereas the men stated £15. I had to return to... More

Lovely place and very friendly staff. We had a voucher and hotel kindly allowed us to go after the end date as they were fully booked when I rang initially. However tea was disappointing- sandwiches a bit stale- I had a salmon bone in one of mine. Cakes very disappointing now that we have experienced other teas- two little chocolate... More

I had high hopes, but unfortunately the cramped room was in the attic; stuffy, shabby and oh, that awful shower room (no bath)! - grimy, moldy and a bit smelly... Great location and great towels is about all I can say in its favour :(

Good location. Pleasent service. with daily fulfill of water bottels, apples coffe and tea. we stayed in two room (6 people) the 4p. bathroom had no place to hang the towels. tEach room had only one chair in the room. The mold/mildew in the room evoke allergic reaction for some of us. The noise from the main street (ambulance, police... More

Centrally located with plenty of public transportation option, The Academy was a very good value for a short week's stay. The breakfast which was not included, but was reasonable and tasty. The bed was firm but comfortable. The room itself and the bathroom were small, but quite adequate as we did not spend much time there. We were bothered one... More

Ideal hotel to pick if your looking for a weekend away in London. 15 minute walk to Euston station, 15 minutes to walk to Shaftsbury Avenue, 10 minutes by taxi to Camden. You need Central London, without the big hotel, this is the place!!. Rooms comfortable and very clean, would use this hotel again. Only downside is there isn't a... More

Booked this hotel via hotwire based on four star rating. It's in am amazing location, but is not a four star hotel by any stretch of the imagination. The place overall had a rundown feel. The room was dingy with badly stained carpets, walls, lampshades and smelled of mildew. It had cheap appliances: a dodgy wall a/c and tiny plastic... More
