I have just returned after a weekend stay for my sister-in-law to be's hen party. Trying to find twin rooms in central London is no easy feat but the academy could provide! The beds were very comfortable with nice linens and reasonably sized rooms. The shower cubicle was a little tight but that's the only slightly negative point I can... More

I stayed for one night last week at The Academy Hotel. I was over to meet up with friends in London and generally have a good night out. When I arrived I was a little bit stressed as I had to scan, amend , attache and send a whole load of important documents for work. The receptionist could not have... More

Have stayed here many times. Within walking distance of everything. Close to the tube. Many fine restaurants close by, parks, theatre and shopping. Very comfortable beds. Tea or coffee in rooms as well as first class bath amenities and fluffy towels. Wouldn't stay anywhere else

We were in town to catch a show and got a good deal on a junior suite with Travelzoo so decided to stay over. This was our first visit to the Academy and found the location to be fine, not too far to walk to the theatres in Drury Lane, Covent Garden and the shops in Oxford Street. On being... More

I recently stayed at The Academy hotel with a friend as part of a birthday getaway. What an amazing hotel, we recieved a warm welcome in a lovely reception, as we had arrived early we were able to leave our bags in reception (which were later taken to our room, awaiting our return!) whilst we went shopping. The hotel room was... More

Location: I didn't really expect the hotel to be such convenient to everywhere. On foot I can go to anywhere easily. You can go to British Museum to study during the day and also after that you could always get a refreshment and nice meal and dive into busy commercial streets in any minute. Room: This hotel is an 18th-century... More

We recently stayed the The Academy for 6 nights and thought it was lovely! The hotel staff was very friendly, the rooms were very clean, the breakfast (which we did have to pay extra for) was delicious. Our room was on the top floor (no lifts) and was very quiet. It was a wonderful home away from home for us!

Upon arriving late at the hotel, the welcome was simply excellent. The chap checking me in was friendly and efficient. The gentleman on the door was welcoming and took me (and my bag) up stairs to my room. The bed was big and bouncy with a nice fat duvet. it was a like getting into a feather sandwich. The hotel... Neighborhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
