Stayed here recently on a trip to London. Cracking location for getting around the West end and to and fro Euston/Kings Cross. Had breakfast in the hotel where staff were very nice, otherwise Hotel seemed a bit soulless and no real focal point.

Had afternoon tea here yesterday with my husband as part of my birthday trip to London. I booked using a Travelzoo offer which seemed a good deal. The hotel is well located, a short walk from Tottenham Court Rd station. However, the welcome on arrival was rather lack lustre which sadly set the tone. We were given the choice to... More

This was a great hotel for a family of 4 to share. The boys (7&9) stayed in the pullout couch and we had a very comfortable bed. It was a small-medium sized hotel and clean and comfortable on a quiet street but in a good location for our needs. Service could have been better- just more attentive.

I enjoyed my two week stay at the Academy Hotel. The location, just steps from the British Museum, is convenient for the theatre district and within easy walking distance of many tourist destinations. Also very convenient for Heathrow, which can be reached directly from the nearby Russell Square tube station. I loved picnicking in the charming squares of the neighborhood.... More

I stayed for one night on a business trip to London and having stayed in a large double room on a previous occasion was concerned that a single room would be poor substitute I am pleased to report that it was perfectly adequate for a business trip and would definitely stay again on business A comfy bed , a great... We stayed for two nights as a birthday treat and were really pleased with the first impressions of the Hotel. We arrived early and the smart young man on reception explained that the room wasn't ready so booked our luggage in and gave us a receipt. We then went for a walk around. On arriving back there was a bit... More

We took advantage of a voucher for afternoon tea in London at this hotel. We had a hospital appointment at University College Hospital and the hotel was close by. We did have a nice afternoon tea with a lovely glass of prosecco, but I thought that with all the lovely china on offer in the chain stores, what were we... More

Stayed one night because of location. I was in a single ground floor room next to reception. The room was typical London small independent i.e. if swinging cats are your thing then look elsewhere. The room was tired and the sink drained into the same system as the shower so I'd advise against filling the sink before bed because when... More

Just returned home after a short break in London staying in The Academy Hotel. Our room was spotlessly clean, towels soft and fluffy, bed linen snowy white and a gorgeous comfy bed. Service was excellent and our freshly cooked breakfast really started the day well. Also The Academy is close to underground so perfect for sightseeing. Lots of stairs so... More
