Based on position alone this is a good choice for a short break-walking distance to Oxford Street, British Museum and Covent Garden, along with the Theatre district and St Pancras. The hotel itself is a little tired and the communal areas small. Our room on the ground floor-No. 6- was pretty cramped and the bathroom tiny. We had an inclusive... More

My wife and I were the only guests in the restaurant on a Friday afternoon but the lack of atmosphere was certainly offset by the quality and quantity of our Afternoon Tea service. The freshest of sandwiches, lovely warm scones with ample jam and cream and a selection of petits fours made for one of the best Afternoon teas we... More

Booked by business associates and stayed longer to experience some of the museums. very happy with my single room everything worked fine and a good price. I found the surroundings very charming the location excellent. I have started to enjoy breakfast and this was a nice breakfast to linger over when on my own time.

My girlfriend and I stayed at The Academy in November after receiving our stay as a present from her brother. We went to see Stomp at the Ambassadors Theatre, with the hotel's location a wonderful base for us to visit the West-End area. They kindly looked after our bags all day while we explored the city, and when we arrived... More

Upon arriving at London Euston Station we checked our maps and were told it would take aroun 10mins to walk, around 25mins later we found the hotel! Almost all hotels on this street are identical and very quaint so can be hard to find if your not paying attention. We stayed here 1 night in July 2015 and found it... More

We've just returned from a short stay here (2 nights) & thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Check in was nice & easy, we managed to check into the room earlier than the advertised 2pm as well which was a bonus as we did arrive early. The discounted carparking charges the hotel have arranged with nearby secure parking was great as we managed... More

Recently stayed here on New Year's Eve and was quite surprised how pleasant it was. After reading the reviews we we're a bit nervous on staying but the room was very spacious and the beds we're very comfy. It was slightly noisy but being next to a main road it was expected.. Nothing to stop you from sleeping though. The... More

Great central location, friendly staff, room was nicely decorated and the towels were lovely and big which is a bonus. I don't like it when hotels give you tiny bath towels. The hotel is an old building and we had to go up 6 flights of narrow stairs to get to our room, so if you have accessibility issues might... More

Our room accommodated two adults and two children. The location is great, just a couple of blocks from the British museum. Free breakfast included fresh fruit, bread and pastries. The people working in the breakfast room were friendly and helpful. The people sitting in the front desk were not helpful at all. There was a foul smell in the mini... More

I'll start by saying that the room and setting in a 19th century building was very nice. The restaurant staff were unbelievable, I wish the front desk staff had the same enthusiasm. It seemed like I was interrupting them whenever I had a question. I had set my reservation for 4, and wanted someplace authentic. We were in a larger... More

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
