We have been staying at the Commodore for more than 10 years and it became our go to hotel in London. We travel to London at least every six/eight weeks. Great location, well priced, excellent service, attentive staff, modern clean (small) rooms... That is all in the past. We have seen the hotel slowly deteriorate since it was sold by... More

Rooms tiny. Service very awkward and unfriendly. Wifi didn't work for full day. Booking a hotel with wifi was critical for me, and yet this hotel seems to have no access to support staff to make sure that what is promised is available. When asked, no offer of refund or compensation was available. Told to "Ask in morning". Will do,... More

My company gave me this hotel for 3 nights as it was close to Victoria Station. The hotel est near to Hyde Park in a very posh and clean location. The hotel is clean but the style is quite old, no modern at all and kind of "too much british". Rooms are very small and old decorated and the bathroom... More

The Commodore hotel is very old. The most disrupting is the noise in some of the rooms. We had a room just in front of the old lift machinery, very noisy. Then we were proposed a room in the basement, just in front of a compressor, you can imagine the noise. We could even hear the tube underneath, very distinctively.Through... More

On the positive side: * The location is great and near a tube stop and the park. * The staff are very helpful and welcoming. * Breakfasts are pretty decent. On the negative side: * Rooms are small * Our room looked out over a water heater and a dumpy little courtyard. * The carpets in the basement where our... More

The exterior of this hotel gives a nice initial appearance however upon entering things start to go downhill. The stay in this hotel was the most unpleasant of a 5 week trip to the UK. Our initial allocated room greeted us with ripped and stained carpet, holes in the walls, leaking taps and half finished bathroom repairs. We were then... More

Basically, the hotel is in a great location right near the Lancaster Gate Station, and Kensington Garden, with lots of bus routes in close vicinity. It is also a very quiet area with beautiful buildings/mansions and an entrance to Hyde Park about 3 minutes away. We were also about 10 minutes from Queensway Road where you could find almost any... The rooms were well small and AC unit doesn't work and is always fixed to 1 temperature. The room was clean and the staff were very friendly who gave us complementary late check out. Location wise it is situated right next to Hyde Park and a stones throw away from Lancaster Gate Underground Station. The TV in the room was... More

When you arrive in front of this Hyde Park Victorian mansion-turned-hotel, you know you can be in no other place but London. Stepping inside, the aura of floral patterns, ornate furniture, red leather and general foof can be almost overwhelming to those uninitiated to this style. This isn't dated- this is a place sopping with period-accurate British charm. This was... More
