My friend and I decided to try the Gentleman's Afternoon Tea which apart from the usual cake and scone included home made sausage roll, steak and snail crostini and fish finger and mushy peas - plus a glass of bellini. The room was buzzing with conversation from all sides and the staff were certainly kept busy and yet they were... More

Booked this hotel through Last Min.com on their secret location hotels so it was fairly cheap for London. We were going to Paris via the Eurostar from St Pancras the following morning so wanted a hotel a short taxi ride from the station. The location of this hotel is fantastic, 5 mins walk to Oxford Street and close to Hyde... More

The last few reviews had been hit and miss....however we were pleasantly surprised Upon arrival we were greeted by a very friendly group of staff.... It was tough to get a good night sleep at this hotel as the walls are thin (we could hear our neighbor coughing) and they we emptying garbage next door until the wee hours of the morning. I would not recommend staying here if you want to be refreshed and ready to go the next day.

The hotel location is nice, and the rooms are well decorated. I was in London for work and my boyfriend joined me for the weekend, we wanted a nice central hotel, and enjoyed our stay. As I was travelling for work I requested an invoice during checkout to ensure the amount is comprehensive of all fees. After checking out I... More

Dear Eurotraveller18, I regret you felt the need of raising your concerns in this forum. After checking with our Front Office and Room Reservations teams here at The Mandeville Hotel it seems nobody remembers any communication on excess credit card charges. Being slightly lost with your review I would appreciate if you contact me on pmenke@mandeville.co.uk. I am certain we... More

I just returned from a seven-night stay at the Mandeville Hotel and had the best stay of my many visits to this lovely hotel. The entire staff from the front desk employees to the Reform Social & Grill were extremely kind and nice to me. I arrived on a Sunday morning and was immediately allowed into my hotel room. It... I stayed 2 nights in January The first night, I got bitten heavily, I asked the change room the next morning. They did so, apologetically. In the evening, I got back, they ensured the room was fine... Well, it was not: bed bugs which even got on my suitcase back to my home. NEVER NEVER NEVER AGAIN

Dear Real_Marie_Poppins, Please contact me on pmenke@mandeville.co.uk so I may look into your comments in detail. Cleanliness and hygiene standards are of greatest importance to all of us here at The Mandeville Hotel. Among the measures in place there are regular inspections carried out by external companies. Without hesitation I can therefore say that the hotel is bed bug free.... More

The best thing about this hotel is its location. Easy access to Oxford Street shopping and loads of good restaurants. Rooms are clean and modern and, for London, small not too small. The front desk staff were great - helpful and friendly - but the hotel is let down by the arrogance of some others. The Reform Grill is the... More

Staying in Marylebone

Neighborhood Profile
Marylebone
Marylebone offers what so many London neighborhoods cannot: a village feel coupled with urban convenience. Much of its success rests in its location. Wedged between the northeastern corner of Hyde Park and the southern end of Regent's Park and with a number of Tube stations within easy reach, Marylebone is as pedestrian friendly as Central London gets. The bustling shopping mecca of Oxford Street separates it from Soho and Mayfair, exclusive Regent Street marks its border with Fitzrovia, and cosmopolitan Edgware Road serves as its western edge. Within this enviably situated quarter are an array of outstanding restaurants (from Michelin darlings to down and dirty cheeseburgers), an impressive assortment of independently owned shops, and some of the city's quietest and most pleasant nooks, crannies and cobbled lanes.
