This was my second stay here. The main attraction is that when you arrive at Heathrow, you get on the train, direct to Russell Station, then up the stairs, around the corner and there is the Russell Hotel. So convenient, and close to many of London's attractions. On my first stay, I found I had to 'adjust' from what I... More

We stayed at the Hotel Russell for 5 nights, while vacationing in London. Great location with easy access by tube, cab, or bus to just about anywhere in London. The staff was superb. We felt special and catered to by all employees we had contact with. We had some special emergent needs and they were over-the-top helpful and accommodating. My... More

We stayed 2 nights at the hotel. The Room overlooked air conditioning units at the back. The bathroom area looked like it had been made out of a wardrobe it was so small. Exactly one and a half 8 inch tiles to stand between the wall and bath. No way could two people be in the bathroom at the same... More

What a fabulous hotel, the building is amazing and once through the entrance the staircase is superb. Its like stepping back in time. The room was spacious with coffee/tea facilities, added bonus was iron and ironing board, it was clean and comfortable. The only negitive thing was we requested a triple room but the third bed was only a fold... More

This hotel is conveniently located to the British museum, to small restaurants, transportation just a short walk to the tube. The staff was most accommodating creating a room change when we needed more accessible facilities.

I had a flat for a week so didn't need a room here. However I booked a tour that was going to pick me up at the Hotel Russell at 5 am and when I saw the hotel, I knew I had to stay there. Then when I found a great deal on Priceline (through the Trip Advisor site), it... More

Me and my boyfriend has drove past this hotel many times and always admired the grand building. On deciding a special night to stay out in London we booked this hotel. On arrival my boyfriend noticed a worn out old canopy and carpet on the stairs on the side of the building it looked rotted. When we got inside it... More

I had a single room for business for 3 nights and got a really good deal. Room was clean and breakfast was amazing...one of the best I have had. The location is prefect as it is just around the corner from the tube. Staff very helpful. Would stay here again.

The location is great, close to Bloomsbury, restaurants, museums, stations, as is the exterior and lobby. A very noisy event was going on when we arrived and continued to midnight, audible even on the 4th floor. In contrast to the lavish façade, the rooms are disappointingly small. Ours had a cracked mirror, filthy windows, two faulty lightbulbs, a narrow bed... More

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
