What a stunning place this first appears to be... the hotel is grand and imposing, the lobby is glamorous yet intimate. However, my room (on the first floor) was a real disappointment... so even though I did get a good deal, I wouldn't be keen to stay here again. Positives: Great location... across from a lovely leafy square, close to... More

The building looks good from any booking website. The rooms are somewhat spacious for two, but not so clean. the carpet, bathroom fixtures are stained and old. Our room faced the street, for 5 nights we witnessed 3 Brawls, Drunk and Disorderly behaviours from passersby, we only had 1 good nights sleep. Delivery from nearby good Indian restaurants were fast... More

This is a classic style hotel - very majestic, and a great location with the tube station maybe 75 meters from the front door. It is however, located on a major road - so there is an exceptional amount of traffic - and consequently - very noisy. We arrived in late morning after an overnight flight - and were pleased... More

The hotel itself was very nice and decent location for where we needed and a good breakfast, I had booked 14 rooms for a corporate event, we arrived and were faced with a very rude discourteous reception manager. Treated us like dirt whilst being all happy and jolly to other guests. It was a real shame as the breakfast and... More

I booked this hotel because it was one of the hotels recommended by a conference arranger. Considering the outrageous price of 220 £per night, the first room I got was shocking:on the 7th floor, tiniest hotel room ever. The bed (as well as everything else in the room) was very close to the window, where a cold stream of air came... More

We found the room extremely hot and after complaining we were moved to another one. View to the inner court was disgusting, the windows were dirty, the bedroom and the bathroom furnishing plus furnitures were tired looking as well as the carpet. A lot of noise from the outside because of an air con fan. What a pity, because the location... More

I stayed here at short notice while my husband was in hospital nearby. The building is beautiful, in the gothic style & obviously something of a local landmark. The entrance, stairs & public rooms are very impressive & are decorated in a traditional Edwardian style that compliments the age & style of the building. My room was at the back... More

Spent 1 night while down for a conference with a friend. Check in straight forward. Room very comfortable and clean. Bathroom small but certainly clean and quite adequate given only there for a night. Breakfast superb. Plenty of choice and cooked to perfection. Staff friendly and attentive. The Russell hotel is a beautiful building inside and out and overall quite... More

Sumptuous hotel and all staff were friendly & welcoming. At breakfast I had to leave the table twice for the next course - only to find that my settings, plates, coffee, etc had been cleared away! It happened twice! The small pots of preserves & marmalade are in racks on the larger tables only. There is nowhere else where they... More

Great looking hotel with an added vintage and antique look. The rooms could be a little better but good enough. Located in a nice square that has access to the tube and anything else one might need. Good breakfast but limited
