We have just returned from a one night stay at this hotel which has previously been our favourite hotel in London. We choose to stay here for its excellent location and the fact the it has a pool and jacuzzi. This is a end of year treat for us and has been for years. We've stayed at this hotel loads... More

The hotel is very pleasant, the staff was lovely. There is a restaurant which we have not used as it was closed... We had a room on the top floor which provided us with a nice view over Big Ben and the London Eye :-) The room was very nice, clean and comfortable. Only thing we did regret not having... More

Just returned from an afternoon tea in the Terrace. Sorry guys, but this didn't live up to expectations. It was our anniversary so I thought I would book a 5 star treat for us. No way was this 5 star. We were offered a table by the window on arrival however were asked to move as a private party had... More

We normally stay at another Starwood hotel in London but tried to book too late so opted for Le Meridien. The location is great and even though our room overlooked Regent Street it was quiet. The room was well equipped and a decent size for London. We did not dine in based on recent reviews. We did have a drink... More

We attended for lunch with friends to the Terrace Grill/Bar restaurant. Our friends booked under the offered Meal deal (3 courses plus a glass of prosecco £28 per person). Restaurant very nice and we were shown to our table promptly. Prosecco offered promptly (we were asked if we wanted it before we started eating, which we did as we would... More

The location of this hotel can't be beat. The hotel itself is old, but has a certain quaintness to it that works with the overall London vibe. The service though...beyond terrible. Check in took forever. Once finally complete, I was given my key with absolutely no information on what amenities the hotel had to offer, where the restaurant was, or... More

We had 2 executive suites booked as we are a family of 5..so not cheap! One room wasn't ready when we arrived and we waited until 6pm to get it. Then we thought we'd try to relax and unwind before my husbands birthday dinner...take a swim in one of the largest pools in London- which is why we chose it-... More

'Ive allowed myself a couple of days to think this through... because its easy to be hot headed , ergo over react to the situation. So here is our opinion of this establishment from last Friday. We both are self employed, so we haven't had a holiday for 3 years, too busy, so every now and then we have the... More

Went for afternoon tea and would not return. Firstly seated in an area out of the main restaurant in a dark corner and waited 20 minutes for someone to take our order. I then asked him if we could move into the main restaurant where there were lots of free tables, another sulky waiter then came to take our order... More

Staying in Mayfair

Neighborhood Profile
Mayfair
Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.
