We recently had s great 9 night stay with our daughter. On arrival we were slightly disApointed to hear that our one bedroom apartment had maintenance issues so we needed to have 2 rooms. Fortunately we were placed in 2 rooms next to each other and they added breakfast for the inconvenience. This was a great compromise as breakfast made... More

A small well laid out room. All the necessary equipment to cook a meal/snack on the hob or the microwave. Food can be bought at the local Tesco ( not much choice) or at Marks and Spencer at the Station. Walking distance to lots of attractions especially China Town, River Thames and Trafalgar Square. Staff were helpful and polite providing... More

We stayed here with two young children with jet lag. The one bed apartment was very small and I didn't want my toddler on the fold out couch so we upgraded to a 2 level, 2 bed apartment, which was well worth the money. Spacious room and a separate downstairs area. Quite dark and clearly very worn down but reasonable... More

It is loated only 1 block fro Trafalgar Square. The 2 bedrooms apartment was ver confortable and had all you need to cook your meals. The sofa bed is good with TV. The bedroom were a bit small with ver little space to keep clothes. Staff at breakfast not very friendly.

My family of 4 stayed at the Citadines Trafalgar Square for 8 nights over spring break. The hotel is located just two blocks south of Trafalgar Square and is in a perfect location. Close to numerous restaurants, 2 minutes from the Embankment underground stop, and probably just 3 minutes from the Charing Cross stop. Here are the pros and cons:... More

It's all about location. Every major attractions are within walking distance. 5 min walk to 2 different Tube or train station. Friendly staff, very good living room style lobby. Rooms are very large. Only downside is old and dated bathroom.

You can't think of any better location if you are visiting London for a few days. The hotel is located on Trafalgar Square, in close proximity to a several tube lines, and very convenient to all major London attractions. Overall, the hotel is good. It is well positioned, reasonably clean, secured, and nicely appointed. I was slightly upset at the... More

Super friendly staff and so nice to grab a complimentary cappuccino when leaving and returning after a long day of fun. The rooms are nice and it is a must for my family of finicky eaters to have kitchen amenities. We are staying again this August!

The positive of this hotel really is the location. In the middle of Trafalgar Square, its really convenient to major attractions, theaters, shops, the Tube etc. The first room we stayed in was a studio on the 8th floor and it was small and outdated (shower curtain moldy, older appliances, bedding worn etc). We experienced extremely loud neighbors at 3... More

As a family of five, it is very difficult to find spacious accommodation at an affordable price. We were happy to discover that Citadines 2-bedroom apartment had everything that we wanted! The sofa bed was double-sized and comfortable, however, once folded out it felt quite cramped in the living space/downstairs, so we only unfolded it when we were going to... More

Staying in Trafalgar Square / Embankment

Neighborhood Profile
Trafalgar Square / Embankment
With its iconic Nelson’s Column, majestic oversized lions and brightly-lit fountains, Trafalgar Square is not just considered the heart of this bustling London hub, but the very core of the city itself. Beyond this esteemed gathering place are more famous icons, as well as a disproportionate numbers of the city’s most popular cultural attractions including the National Gallery and many West End theaters. Along the way to these major sites are quiet lanes and antiquated pubs to discover, as well as riverside vistas to enjoy on the embankment. With a calendar full of celebratory events, any time of year is a fine time to visit.
