The Carlton: what can I say?....let's be diplomatic. It's got a roof and floors, walls and windows. It's very well situated for access to Kings Cross-St Pancras. It has stairs. It has free wifi, and you get clean towels, 2 bars of soap and a kettle with some tea sachets (no coffee in my 'room') And 'room' is where my... More

This is one of the more basic hotels in this street of regency terrace hotels near Victoria. The 'receptionist', decor, space, etc are all basic with no flair or niceties. However, my room was perfectly clean, everything worked perfectly well, and I had an efficient overnight stay during a business trip.

Location is great for King's Cross. But this may not be a type of hotel you are used to go. It consists of several houses which are turned into individuals rooms. Basic accomodation for single night is ok, never for two.

Cannot recommend this hotel having stayed two nights on business trip. Basic friendliness and helpfulness appear to be alien concepts to the people running this place. While my room (facing back) was quiet, it was not up to functioning standard - shower wall fixture was broken; water pressure on the shower head barely more than a trickle and temperature (tending... We first stayed at this hotel in the late nineties. I remembered it then as a small entrance B&B hotel with narrow stairs, small rooms, a rather squeezy room with a large bed. I had to lug my heavy luggage up several floors. Came back after 16 years and found there were fresh coat of paint, new furniture in the... More

Worst hotel stay in my life. We paid $150 per night and here’s a list of the things that went wrong: 1 No Hot water. The issue wasn’t that it didn’t get warm. The issue was that when you turn the knob for hot water nothing comes out. 2 Wifi was charged at 5pounds for the stay. Worked intermittently after... More

It was a big surprise. I really like it. The room is not so big, but the bed was great, nice big window. Small toilet, but really good shower. The staff was friendly and nice, even recommend us, about to order dinner. For sure, I'll be back there and a recommend as well.

One of the worst, no lift n you got to pay wifi. Cramp room, television so small. You got to climb the stair with you luggage without help. Too expensive. Breakfast was only bread butter n jam no meat or cheese. Breakfast area so small you got to wait till someone leave than u can use your breakfast.

This smallish hotel (?20 rooms) seems to be built around the stairs. You need to be quite fit if you're allocated a room on the fourth floor (82 steps) - no lift. A smallish room with a corner shower/basin/loo capsule (like French hotel chain Premiere Classe). Curtains, duvet a bit dated. Bed had a cheap mattress. Only a small part... More

I booked this hotel for a one night stay on 23/04/2014, through hotels.com in good faith. Unfortunately my children were ill and I had to cancel 2 days before arriving. I was covered with the free cancellation policy provided by hotels.com. It clearly sated I could cancel my stay, without incurring a charge, up to 23:59 on 21/04/14 and I... More
