On arrival it seemed ok, room very small even though it was an upgraded room. I can't imagine anything smaller. Tired furnishings, 2 lights out in the bedroom, toilet didn't flush properly & bathroom tiny, door doesn't even open fully as toilet behind it. We stayed 2 nights. On the second night we were tired & thought room service would... More

Recently spent 5 nights at the Ashburn. The location is great with easy public transport acces to both Heathrow and central London, as well as museums and Kensington Palace and Gardens. It is also charming and a nice alternative to the chain hotels. The included breakfast buffet was adequate, with good french press coffee and good selections, although the baked... More

After 6 nights at The Ashburn hotel, these are the conclusions: The Cons: The air-condition doesn’t really work and has no cooling option – so it’s basically just heating and mild venting, that’s it. Since it was freezing outside, that wasn't a big deal most of the time, but we did have to open a window during the day. The Wi-Fi... More

Great location, in between 2 metro stations, Earl's court which is great when coming from Heathrow (accessible and so easy when with suitcases--6 or 7 minutes walk to hotel) and otherwise Gloucester Road, a 2-minute walk from the hotel. Staff was very helpful and went the extra mile to make the stay a fantastic, easy one, dispensing advice on places... More

We stayed at the Ashburn for 8 days over the Christmas season. Very comfortable room with a very comfortable bed and pillows, Room 404. Nicely furnished with a comfy armchair for reading and a real desk and small table. Bathroom small but had an attractive vanity with a usable drawer and an excellent shower. Good heating. Full-sized closet with iron... More

Stayed here for a few days over the Christmas - new year period. The staff were helpful and friendly. The hotel is clean and placed in a very convenient location a 2 minute walk from Glouster Rd underground station. The only issue we had was the breakfast, we found this to be a very bad experience. It was New Year's... More

Worth staying if looking for slightly bigger room standard in London in central location. Only the breakfast has a limited option and table is small. Good for couples and business, but not for family.

Nice, clean, hotel with really comfortable beds, and great location to tubes. Wi fi good, but NO access to using electricity except hair dryer (already there) and cell phone (with my transformer.) Due to the difference in current, and it being an older establishment, I was warned it could cause an outrage..I was therefore unable to use my hair curler... More

My father and I stayed at the Ashburn last May and it was absolutely amazing! Staff were extremely helpful and knowledgable about the city and we felt super comfortable asking them for advice on how to spend our days. My father also was friendly with the bartender, he was down there every night for our three night stay. Room service... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
