Great location near Gloucester Road tube station and with shops and restaurants nearby. The room was very big which is not always the case in London. There was free wifi and breakfast included in the rate we got. There are a lot of hotels nearby but this had the best rate even compared to others not offering free wifi or... More

Beautiful hotel. The rooms are gorgeous and the staff are friendly and incredibly helpful. We stayed between the 6th and 11th of January 2015. The hotel is a stones throw away from gloucestershire metro station. Which for us being on a sightseeing holiday was perfect. As for the rooms they were comfortable and pristine. Housekeeping were respectful of all our... More

Considering that there is a Hilton, Crowne Plaza and a Radisson nearby, this is a great area. About 3 blocks from the Victoria and Albert Museum and two blocks from Gloucester Road Tube station. Easy to go anywhere, especially from (and to) Heathrow or the Eurostar at St. Pancras. There is a grocery (Waitrose) at the tube station and many... More

What a great hotel! First off, the location is spot on. A 2 minute walk to the Tube Station and many local amenities for food, drink and shopping. Our arrival was very early in the morning, so we dropped our bags off and explored the city until our room was ready. When we checked in, the very friendly woman at... More

My husband and I stayed here for one night between Christmas and New Year. Hotel is easy to find and a very short walk from the nearest tube. All the staff we encountered were very pleasant. Room was stunning and a very good size for central London. Our room was on the main road but we weren't disturbed by road... More

The Ashbury is well situated in South Kensington amongst larger and more exclusive hotels, so wins over slightly on price. The room we had was very nice and exactly what we expected from the photos and descriptions. Staff were attentive and friendly. Our bathroom was well presented with toiletries and dressing gowns. But was it a great hotel? Not quite.... More

Very friendly helpful staff! Good Continental breakfast! You really feel welcome. Although on Cromwell Road the rooms are very quiet because of double windows. For free in the evening a nice glass of prosecco.

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
