Clean room, brief walk to the tube. Large room at first thought bedding arrangement strange as just sheets on bed with blankets on top of wardrobe but heating kept room warm and toasty. Joining strip between bathroom and bedroom my wife caught her toe on and limped for 2 days. Shower was great. Breakfast was a help yourself continental which... More

Was so upset with this hotel that i didnt end up staying!! They showed me 3 rooms all filthy, dirty stained sheets, mould in the shower, cobwebs everywhere, building work going on next to one of the rooms which they never told me about. No duvets even though it was freezing cold outside, dirty carpet with a cut all down... More

Room was very comfortable and clean. Shower was fantastic. The bed linen was a bit strange just sheets with blankets on top of wardrobe. Central heating kept it toasties and warm. My wife did catch her toe on carpet strip between bedroom and bathroom which left her limping all day and the lock on our door got stuck taking nearly... More

On arrival we were told there was no double available, even though booked, but we were 'upgraded' to a triple that was in the basement, Room B3. So here goes, tiny shower room, no air, unable to open windows as on front and noise from street invasive, right next to staff entrance and exit which they used at all hours... More

The lackluster attitude, the lack of personal grooming, the lack of answering any questions with more than "yes or no" is simply not good enough for a hotel reception, any hotel reception. The one woman looked as if she had slept behind the reception and simply hates her job, which was plain to see. I ask: "Do you have an... More

Just returned from a two night stay (last week) from this hotel. Booking the hotel i had read several reviews and in my mind i was justifying my stay by saying it is only two nights, i can take it even if it's bad. The only thing i didn't like was the walk to the hotel from the station at... More

We stayed in Room 106, would definately stay again. Modern room, lovely cosy bathroom...thank you.

For a London hotel, the Avni Kensington was surprisingly good value for money. It was by no means luxurious, but for a working trip it had everything we needed (as in a base for the night) with plenty of nearby facilities for anything the hotel itself was lacking. The rooms were small but clean and modern, the only thing really... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
