Stayed here for a couple of nights only due to building works at home - I live local. Booked this on booking.com. Disappointed to say the least. Smelly blankets rather than any duvets & disgustingly stale cushions - when they were last washed goodness only knows. If you want a hostel this is fine - if you want a 3... More

I stayed at the Avni Kensington Hotel for 5 nights in August by myself. Location is great- walking distance to the Gloucester Road tube station. Neighborhood was safe enough to walk around at night with lots of restaurants and pubs. Room was comfortable enough to fit my needs, though I booked this hotel with the expectation that it was not... I stayed here with my 15-year old daughter. I booked a room through bookings.com for a twin bed, but when I showed up they said they only had a double. It may not have been their fault, but they were incredibly rude about it as I asked questions as to what they received from bookings.com. My 15-year-old daughter told me... More

Room was very comfortable and clean. Shower was fantastic. The bed linen was a bit strange just sheets with blankets on top of the wardrobe. Central heating kept us toasties and warm. My wife did catch her toe between the bedroom and bathroom on join which kept her limping all day and the lock on our door got stuck taking... More

I went to London for business purposes, and this was the best option in terms of position and price. The hotel was clean, and the staff was very kind. The only issues are with some of the facilities: poor wifi, walls and shower needing some repairs.

We spent only 5 days at Avni Kensington with my girlfriend just to visit London but had no complaints at all. Our room was on the 3rd floor. It was tiny but we had everything. It was clean, wifi was fine, tv was okay, shower worked well. There's an elevator so it's a nice plus. The staff was helpful and... More

Pros: * Location: close to Earl's Court and Gloucester Metros * Breakfast is fine, but few fruits. * Staff is friendly and tries to help. * Price is affordable * Neighborhood is very nice and one of the most exclusive in London. Cons: * Bathrooms: shower clogged, showerhead leaked all night long. Staff can't fix anything unless a handyman comes... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
