I recently stayed here whilst attending training in South Kensington. Location is superb, but that is the main attractive feature of this hotel! Staff are polite. Rooms are very warm, but grubby. Paint peeling off ceiling in my room and all walls scuffed. An odd buzzing sound all night too, like an extractor fan was on! I sleep well with... More

The hotel is located in a nice area next to the tube of Glousester Road and the museum of natural history, the museum of science and the Victoria & Albert museum( very easy to walk there.. just around the corner from the hotel). The area is full of restaurants, coffee places and mini markets. The hotel itself however is not... More

Nice location, easy to find, a bit surprised beautiful house, and nice location, almost made me wants to live in the community. The house is nice, clean, free wifi, just one thing is a bit annoying, only provided a sheet, during the summer night it was bit cold, don't know the winter. Generally good!

We had booked two rooms - a family room and a superior double for two nights to attend the Cirque du Soleil and the natural history and science museums with our 4 year old grandson and his parents - his first trip to London. The first thing that I noted on entering was the strong smell of cigarette smoke. It... More

The hotel is located in a lovely area close to the Gloucester Road tube station and very short tube ride to central London. The room my bf and I stayed in was very small and very hot (it was room 412 on 4th floor). The problem with the room was that it would heat up up to a certain level... More

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The hotel is in a good location only and only a short walk to the tube station that will take you anywhere in London. When we first checked in they could not locate our reservation but quickly accomodated us when we presented our confirmation. They said they didn't have a standard triple room... More

This place is located in a great area but seems like more of a hostel than a hotel. The rooms are an ok size for a short stay. The breakfast is serve yourself cereal and toast in a horrible basement room. Our room had a radiator that would not turn off and therefore we had to have the window open... More

The staff were second to none, we had some issues with parking and the lady who was on the front desk was absolutely excellent, she searched the internet and phoned us back to give us postcodes and directions for car parks, she could not do enough for us! (Bad planning on our part - be warned that parking is ludicrous... More

We stayed here for two nights whilst we were here for new years fireworks: Plus points: close to two tube stations, in a nice residential street, affordable, reasonable breakfast included and room was relatively clean . Minus points: rooms quite dated, even double standard room was very small, staff not particularly clued on as he was adamant our booking had been cancelled... More

Corridors are a mess, always full of rubbish. Rooms are outdated and linens have this musty smell into them. Quite disappointed considering the amount you have to pay. What works well for this hotel is the location. Very accessible to most of the places you want to visit while staying here.

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
