The former London home of the Vanderbilts this grand old lady has seen better days. Yes the place is a rabbit warren and the rooms are small but that said, the bed was super comfortable, the breakfast was excellent and the location was close to shops and transport. I wouldn't stay here long term but for a night or two... More

Need I say more? 30 sec walk from Gloucester Rd tube stop. Minutes walk from V&A museum, Nat History Museum and others. Very nice room with reasonable rate. Looking forward to my next stay. I will definitely be booking this hotel again. The bar is beautiful and modern with excellent lattes and a fantastic dessert menu.

Location is unbeatable. Seconds from the tube station (and the hummingbird bakery!) and much much quieter than inner london. Room was spotless, comfy bed, perfect size for what we needed. Checked in by Bilam who was super charming and friendly, and were offered water with watermelon in it. Only niggles really - bathroom tap barely worked, was a trickle of... More

I have stayed at the Radisson Blu Edwardian Vanderbilt Hotel on Cromwell Road in Kensington five times over the last five years. It is truly a British gem! From the time I enter to the time I leave, I feel at home with the most friendly, cooperative, and helpful hotel staff one can expect to find anywhere in the world.... More

Cecilia, what a wonderful lady. My daughters and i were there for afternoon tea, two birthdays. Cecilia made our visit a visit to remember, helpful, kind, attentive just everything you could ask for in a host. The afternoon tea here is a must with fresh scones, cakes, sandwiches and tea. My youngest daughter requested a ham sandwich as most of... More

My wife and I spent two nights in this lovely hotel. It was clean and tidy, the room (which I believe was a deluxe) was very spacious, with a nice bathroom and comfortable king size bed. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, making the stay that little bit better. It's in a good location, near museums and the Royal... More

I flew in from sydney, australia on 18 december to london. I did my research before i booked into this hotel for three nights from 17/12, although i arrived on 18/12, because my flight landed on the 18/12 at 625am and had to book in a night in advance because check in was at 2pm. That's fine. Greeted by staff... More

Spent last night at the hotel. The room was very good and clean. It was surprisingly quiet despite being at the front of the hotel. This was our second room as the one originally allocated was overheating. This was sorted quickly by the pleasant and helpful staff. We were in fact given a slightly larger room. Cannot fault the hotel... More

Four of us stayed for 2 nights and could not really fault this hotel. The staff were very helpful and friendly and nothing was a hassle. Our rooms were lovely, the only criticism was the bathroom which was small but we can live with that. The location was excellent and in a fabulous part of the city, walking distance to... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
