A friend and I went on Sunday evening for a meal. What an experience. Have eaten out nearly every evening the past three weeks and I can only say how wonderful our evening was. Pepe, Ali and another very pleasant young man attended us with care and attention. The food was excellent, the service amazing. I was full after the... More

This hotel is almost next-door to the Natural History Museum and a short walk to the V&A, the Science Museum, the Royal Albert Hall and the Brompton Oratory. It is just a short way across the Cromwell Road from Gloucester Road tube station. Although the rooms are not spacious, they are pleasantly decorated and clean. The bed was comfortable and... More

The single room where I stayed was clean and comfy. It is a bit small but it is very good. The Edwardian design is nice. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and will always meet you with a smile on their faces. The hotel is in a very good location... It is only a 3-minute walk away from Gloucester... More

Trying to stretch my travel budget, I chose the basic single room when booking thru Expedia. The location was my prime driver. On seeing the room however, I went back to reception to see about an upgrade as the room was much too small. Because it is a historic hotel, nearly every room is a different shape or size or... I regularly stay at this hotel whilst on business. You are always greeted with a happy smile and attentive service. Staff are always ready to help with luggage or point you in the right direction for your room. The check in process is always very efficient, yet the Staff are always friendly so you don't feel like you are being... More

Pros: Staff were very friendly and helpful. Very well maintained and very clean. Very handy to Gloucester Rd tube station, stop for the hop-on hop-off bus, cafés restaurants, supermarkets, bank, forex exchanges and other small shops. Free wifi Cons: The room was small, but fortunately we really only slept there. The bathroom was minute, but more than adequate. Kept very... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
