As London was to be the centre of our long trip, we booked and paid for our 10 days, 4 months before our arrival. Two days before leaving Europe for London, I checked the Cavendish web site and found they offered a new deal for the same room rate per night and including breakfast. Breakfast, we found cost £22 per... More

We also booked through their own website, very user friendly website offered the best rates.I decided on this hotel because the rooms as well as foyer, lounge, bar etc are contemporary decorated,we were greeted with a warm welcome, check in process very quick and efficient,we had a Classic Room very clean and bright .The bed and pillows were the most comfortable I have... First stay at the Cavendish. Friendly reception staff who checked us in very quickly with no problems. We had two adjoining rooms at the end of a corridor - one classic double and a superior twin, both were a very high standard of cleanliness and a nice touch were the welcoming cards and wrapped macaroon sweets. Also fantastic skyline view... More

Reason why l am going back to this hotel for several years is the good atmosphere modern but also a little bit classy and the good service. Besides this hotel is excellent suited in Mayfair with all interesting spots in a walk distance. Nice to have some rest in the bar or when you don't like to go out for... More

We booked this hotel through their own website; the best rates and very often much better rooms than if you book through booking.com or similar websites. A very delicate hotel. The first that met us was this lovely room scent in the reception. Really calming. Nice staff, nice decorated room - although maybe a litle bit too small - with... More

I had cancelled my original hotel to stay here as I thought the area appealing - 100% spot on. this was so central to Piccadilly Covent gardens soho - the bed was soo comfortable we went to bed one day at 530pm and woke up at 730am next morning! I would def stay here again - everything I needed! The... More

We held a business meeting here and stayed several days. Guestrooms rather small but quiet, clean, well equipped and comfortable. Staff very attentive and catering at lunch and breaks was excellent - imaginative, healthy food that was fresh and "home made". Meeting rooms very good.

We stayed here as part of a short break booked through my newspaper, to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It was a lovely treat, the hotel is plush and our 'Classic' room was very good indeed. The staff are attentive and polite. Everything is provided, and being on the 8th floor the room was quiet. This counted for a lot, being... More

I'll get past the part about it being tiny for sort of big prices, and go straight to the comfort and convenience. I'd stayed here 25 years ago or more because it was the featured hotel of a PBS show called "The Duchess of Duke Street." Rosa Cavendish was the original innkeeper and many a historical figure came here, relaxed... More

We have just returned from our second visit to the Cavendish this year. It was just as wonderful as our first visit in May. The location is so central for all London attractions and yet it so quiet at night it ticks all the boxes. The staff are excellent ,thankyou for a lovely two days we will be back in... More

Staying in St. James's

Neighborhood Profile
St. James's
Perennially fashionable since the days of Henry VIII, the aristocratic “Clubland” of St James's is a premier destination for high end craft and bespoke design. Here you’ll lose count of the Royal Warrants (which indicate that the Royal Family patronizes the establishment) seen in shop front windows, even during a short stroll to bordering Green Park or St James’s Park. With the brightly lit and constantly buzzing junction of Piccadilly Circus at its northeast corner and none of Central London too far away, this is an surprisingly central and accessible part of town, especially given its prosperous demeanor.
