Came here with work just before Xmas and although the reception and the reception area was up-to-scratch, as soon as you pass through and into the hotel - you're in a different world. Everything you've already read from other reviews is true. Dangerous and ill-fitting tatty carpets, awful décor, non-existent toiletries, cheap bedding, broken bathroom fittings, badly-fitted TV (bracket), a... More

The outside of this hotel was beautiful, until you get a bit closer and notice the rubbish in the garden. The receptionist who booked us in was rude and had an attitude problem. There was a different member of staff on later in the night who was lovely, he was very friendly and welcoming. The room we stayed in was... More

Everything was poor except the location. The double bed was two beds jammed together at two different heights. there was a hole stuffed with tissue in the wall, the shower was pathetic, the hairdryer nearly went up in smoke when we turned it on, no WiFi in the room, I found a packet of condoms under my pillow which were not... We stayed for a week in whiteleaf hotel, we read the reviews before and we booked as this was the only left with low bugdet. So as the reviews said we ended up going with our own sheets, air freshener and anti bactirial sprays. We didnt use none of these as the room was not smelly, or dirty sheets and... More

Me and my partner arrived New Year's Eve we thought we'd go to hotel first even though we couldn't check in til 2. 9am we spoke to a lady who said would it be possible to go there half 2 to check in. So that's exactly what we did we arrived half 2 and was told to wait 15mins. So... More

No TA Award Certificates on this front desk. Surely one due by the owners of this doss house for the poor receptionist who is batterred with continual complaints day after day. Rooms NEVER ready on time. Foyer is jam packed with guests waiting for the one cleaner to clean all 4 stories. Don't plan anything the afternoon of your check... More

Location is great. We booked for 4 people and when we arrived we were sent to the attic. It looked like we were in jail and the smell of incense was horrible and really strong. We had to go upstairs and more upstairs and even more and at each floor the stairs' condition would get worse. We were reallocated to... More

OK place where to stay for a couple of days. Very clean compared to UK standards, however over used and not vert well maintained. Unfortunately too many "young" and very noisy customers! It's 3:00 am at the moment and they are still partying despite the manager already stepped in a couple of times. Nice area and very close to the... More

Booked two rooms with friends for 4th December both rooms dirty, smelly and absolutely disgusting. Hairs in the bed, mould in the room, decoration the worst I've seen paint peeling and wall paper falling off the walls. Bathroom had paint peeling off the shelf and brown stains in the toilet with an added small of urine. Windows that rattled all night... More

Staying in Notting Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighborhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.
