Reading other reviews, I can only assume that some rooms are *much* better than others... and I must've got a dud. Good points: - Reception was well-presented. - Wifi was free. - Only a short walk to the station and shops. - It seemed clean. Bad points: - Check-in was painful and they couldn't find my booking, initially suggesting I'd... More

Three night stay for a quick holiday in London. I really enjoyed my stay. The rooms are small but that is to be expected for both the price and type of hotel. It was simple, clean, and the comfortable twin bed afforded me a great night of sleep. The bathroom is also small but it was spotless. The staff were... More

I returned to the Phoenix Hotel in January 2016, having stayed there on a number of occasions in the past, and felt compelled to add a review after yet another fantastic experience. All the staff from check-in, to Jesus in the bar to the breakfast waitresses are extremely polite and give great service. The recent refurbishments of the hotel has... More

At night time we have good time in the bar with the best service. The managment and all other personell at the hotel are doing everything to make the stay... More

Friendly, clean, excellent location very close to Bayswater and Queensway underground stations. Value for money. Highly recommendable for visitors to London. There is a shopping in the corner and various restaurants at walking distance. Very silent at night. I would return here in my next trip without hesitating.

Centrally located, very clean, friendly staff. Hotel is renovated(I saw workers doing paint job in some rooms). The lobbies and bar are beautiful. My single room was not big but didn't feel crammed. Had a nice view at the park and tea-coffee making facilities. Breakfast had plenty of stuff to choose from. Only problem is that the walls are a... More

Excellent Hotel, very friendly staff and room was very clean. Great location for business or for pleasure. Have stayed now around 3 times, and never been disappointed. Would certainly recommend this to anyone.

Booked this hotel for a weekend stay in London. The hotel is located in a great location down the road from a tube station and the area is filled with bars and restaurants. Hotel was spotlessly clean and nicely decorated. The only thing I would say is the room we had was very small. This didn't bother us too much... More

Difficult to find as centrally located a place in Bayswater/Queensway area in London. Nice buffet breakfast though very business like and one has tens of restaurants and eateries just a few minutes of walk from here. Great Persian, Indian and Lebanese food in the vicinity. Being located bang opposite Whiteleys shopping mall added advantage. At the other end of Hyde... More

Staying in Notting Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighborhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.
