The hotel is located close to the Bayswater and Queensway Tube stops; so easy access to get anywhere in London. The hotel is updated and very comfortable; rooms had all the amenities I would look for except air conditioning...which wasn't a problem when I was there as the temperature was reasonable and there is a fan available in the room.... Clean, breakfast included and close to Bayswater metro stop. Its wonderful and at a price that is tolerable for expensive London:) I recommend....great stay. The staff was helpful, had an converter for my computer to borrow and helpful with directions.

This hotel is a little off the beaten path. Within walking distance to public transportation, bus, tube. Near Hyde Park. Staff were friendly and accomadating. Opened up at 6:45am for breakfast because we were being picked up early.

I was looking for a hotel reasonably priced on short notice due to having to attend a funeral. I'm thankful to have found this hotel. The service was good, staff were friendly and professional, the room was a good size for a London hotel. I heard stories about tiny rooms and I wasn't sure what I would get. The location... More

Great two night stay at the Phoenix for my daughter's 21st Birthday! It is a great location near two tube stations with lots of bars and places to eat nearby. The staff at the hotel provide an excellent service and were friendly, helpful and polite throughout our stay. The rooms are compact but very pleasant and what you would expect... More

We stayed for a couple of nights and found it a great place to stay. Great location, with 2 train stations and numerous restaurants just around the corner. Room was dated but very clean and tidy. The breakfast restaurant gets very busy and has low ceilings giving it a claustrophobic feeling. Would definitely stay there again.

We spent 2 nights at the Phoenix and would definitely recommend as a handy place to stay on the edge of central London 5 mins from Bayswater and Queensway tubes (10 mins to west end) and a 15 min stroll across Kensington Park to the Albert Hall. Our double room was very clean, airy and comfortable - and reasonable value... More

We stayed for 5 nights in July at the Phoenix and would absolutely stay again. The room was exactly as we expected; very clean, comfortable and (for London) good space for 2 adults and 2 teens. The location is great, with easy access to the tube, a short walk to Hyde Park, and plenty of good restaurants and shops in... More

Staying in Notting Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighborhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.
