This isn't the fanciest of hotels but it certainly did the trick for us in London. The proximity of its location to two subway stations was the biggest plus. The hotel itself was a little tired and could use some upgrading. The rooms are a little small...too be expected but were kept clean. The elevator was always a long wait.... More

I stayed at the Phoenix Hotel for 12 nights in a 1 bedroom. Location is fantastic. Less than a 5 minute walk from Bayswater Tube station (Circle and District line) and a 7 minute further walk to Queensway (Central line). Plenty of shops and restaurants including a small shopping centre all close by Reception were very helpful and friendly. Helped... More

Cant fault this hotel at all, great value, just around corner from shops, restaurants and tube station. Very close to Kensington Park also. Great continental breakfast in morning. Well done Phoenix we will be back if ever in London.

Our stay at Phoenix Hotel was very pleasant, with very helpfull and friendly staff. Good breakfast every day, with good variety in food and drinks. Excellent beds, and a fine bathroom. Only quality and size of the wardrobe can be improved in the 3 person bedroom we had during our our stay. I would surely recommend the Hotel!

Unassuming hotel with helpful pleasant staff, and decent continental breakfast included. Just round the corner from Queensway which has cafes, restaurants, day-to-day shopping, two tube stations, excellent bus links, and Boris bikes available to ride through the park. Surprisingly quiet. We are looking forward to our next visit.

The rooms are very clean and bright; bathrooms are small, but clean and nice shower. Breakfast had plenty of choices; staff was very nice. Has a nice lobby as well, which is air-conditioned, which was nice since it was very hot when we were there. WiFi was great. Location is perfect-plenty to walk to as far as shops and restaurants... This lovely hotel offered a great stay at an affordable price. The position of the hotel is excellent. Our room was clean and well sized, the decor was fine for the price. The common areas were modern.

The fully renovated Phoenix is always a good choice for our trips to London. The common areas are much nicer, everything smells like brand new and it's very nice. The rooms are tiny, as well as the bathroom (common in Central London), but the beds are comfortable and the room is well lit. The wi-fi worked very well. There is... More

Location was great, very quiet and safe neighborhood and within walking distance to Kensington gardens and Palace. Receptionist was very friendly and answered a lot of questions. Would've been nicer if we didn't have a room in the basement but we had a last minute booking from our travel agent. Other than that it was nice!

Single room was very small without air-condition. It was very hot to sleep (stayed in June). However the bed was good and service was excellent. The breakfast was standard with a good variety of bread, cheese etc. Location is very good only a couple of minutes away from undergroud station and Kensington park. Good quality for money.

Staying in Notting Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighborhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.
