We have sayed at this hotel multiple times and the high quality of service and attention to detail remains. The staff is amazing, starting with front desk and finishing with room service. Room is a bit small but cozy. Food is fine. At the end of the day, the service you get beats the price you pay .

When I stayed here the room was a little small but what can you expect for a single room. However it was very well presented and more importantly, clean! It's in a great place for a lot of the tourists or businessmen/women that want to some shopping in London's West end It was also very nice to that the staff... More

Recommended by a colleague’s wife who takes frequent trips to London for business, this hotel, at which I stayed for five nights earlier this month, exceeded all expectations. The room rate was well within my modest budget so I had no complaints whatsoever about the room being very basic and small – so small that the tiny wardrobe fitted at... More

First off there is no air conditioning only heat which is hard to control. It was either really hot or would not turn off. I had to open the windows what I could to cool down the room then all you hear all night is cars driving by. I did not like the rook key situation either. They ask you... More

I have used the Phoenix as my preferred London hotel for many years as it never disappoints and is perfectly located for excellent eating out and access to the West End and is always reasonably priced. Since my last visit they've completed a major redecoration of all the communal areas which now look really classy. We were visiting for Valentines... More

I had a single room, not very large but nice and clean. Staff: very helpful. Continental breakfast: very good. Location: excellent, 2 tube stations and plenty of busses within easy reach. Kensington Garden also within 10 min walk. Shops, cafe and restaurants are just 'round the corner' Would I stay there again: yes.

Stayed here many years ago when it was a Best Western, and took a chance booking a last minute cheap deal, as I knew the location was good (5 min walk from Bayswater tube, 5 min walk from shopping centre and some nice independent shops, including a TRAID shop, organic deli and some charity shops). Felt quite safe returning to... More

Very good location next to underground stops(queensway and bayswater), notting hill, shoes and restaurants. Rooms clean and big. Two things to improve: breakfast is poor and the area is too small(on sunday we have waited for 15 minutes before sitting); the front desk is not so kind and helpfull( just good morning and good night)

Had a one night stay here in late January. £53 Saturday night deal with Continental Breakfast through Hotels.com website. Ground floor room, nice and quiet in the back. Great locationwise, Circle Line Tube to Bayswater, turn left at station exit, then 2nd street on the left nr Whiteleys shopping centre. 10 mins walk from Hyde Park for nice walks past... More

Staying in Notting Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighborhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.
