Excellent value for money, after we booked two rooms here at the last minute (the morning of our stay). Nice rooms, very clean. Simple but lovely breakfast included, although terrible coffee. Staff were not rude but not very friendly either. Not far from Bayswater station, and several cafes - for better coffee!

I booked two rooms for my family - double for my parents and triple for three adult sisters. The staff were lovely giving me confidence in my booking and I can honestly say we were not disappointed in anyway. The rooms were light, bright and clean. We loved the triple room that had a mezzanine area for the 3rd bed.... More

Phoenix Hotel is as international as London. You will meet employed from all over the world at the front desk, behind the bar, when having breakfast and in the corridors. All nice and helpful for making your stay as good as you expect. For me it's just like comming home in London. My best advise if you like a unformal... More

I stayed with my partner at the Phoenix Hotel for New Year's Eve and it couldn't have been a better choice! Location is excellent! Right in between the charming area of Notting Hill and bustling Bayswater and just a short walk from Bayswater underground station, which is served by the circle and District lines, taking you to the most remarkable... This is one of my favourite places to stay in London. The price is reasonable( for London), the location is very convenient, breakfast is included and the hotel is old so it has charm. The staff are also very friendly and helpful. Single rooms are very small by North American standards but average for London.

Spent 2 nights here in a lower floor double. Hotel is clean, reasonably well furnished rooms, and is worth the price paid. Mattress was ok but perhaps a bit past its best. Breakfast was ordinary but perfectly acceptable. Staff were mostly foreign but were easy to communicate with and pleasant. Good location, only 5 minute walk to Hyde Park, and... More

Lovely little hotel in a good location, breakfast was sufficient but waitress could've done with cheering up a bit! Reception staff were great, very accommodating and helpful. Nice and close to central London and served by a number of shops and restaurants within a short walk. Only one fault and that was the room temperature, it was roasting. We had... More

The hotel appears to have been completely renovated since our previous visit quite a few years ago. It is now a modern, well appointed and comfortable hotel. The staff were very efficient and pleasant. The Continental breakfast was excellent with a great range of food in their buffet style presentation. The coffee was the best hotel coffee I have ever... Staying in Notting Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighborhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.
