This hotel was in a great location with reasonable access to 3 underground stations. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was cozy, quiet and clean. We would definitely stay here again in the future!

I stayed for 21 nights at the Best Western Phoenix Hotel from mid-Nov. through early-Dec. 2014. Given that hotels in central London are notorious for tiny room sizes, I booked a double room despite being a solo traveller. To begin with, I was offered room 314 which was the size of a shoebox; after complaining to the reception, they offered... More

Stayed here beginning November, room was tidy + comfortable and clean, staff friendly + helpful. Good, central location, near to tube stations + local shop. Plenty of local restaurants. Breakfast good, plenty choice + staff very nice.

The hotel is really good, the room was very clean and comfortable. The heater was always on and sometimes the room was too hot. The breakfast was ok, basic but good. But the best of the hotel is the location, near to two different tube lines...

First of all the positive points. The beds were extremely comfortable and the room was very clean, however it was basic and slightly tired looking. The breakfast was good with plenty of choice and the staff friendly and helpful. Now for the negative points. The reception and bar area give the impression of being unfinished and for guests who are arriving it... More

I booked this hotel at the last minute for a friend and I to meet up in London. Rooms were small but very clean - breakfast was very good and the location superb. The best of all were the extremely helpful, professional staff working there - consider myself to have done well in finding this hotel - highly recommend it.

The location is great. A few minutes walk to 2 different tube lines and only a few minutes by taxi to Paddington Station. The room was tiny but functional. The bed was comfortable, room was clean. The continental breakfast was good. Lots of variety to choose from. I will stay here again if in the area again.

Looks like a refurb by an organisation trying to squeeze a pint into a quart pot. Our Room 214 was supposedly a double. The foor opened onto the wardrobe. The double bed was up against the wall so one had to climb over partner and no bedside cabinet or light on one side. Gymnastics needed in the smallest shower room/toilet... More

I spent there 4 nights and it was very good: very good breakfest, very clean and warm in the rooms, friendly reception and personal, great location (2 tube stops close to everything), very safe neighbourhood, a lot of places to eat, WIFI works fast, so just wonderful! Thanks a lot and I'll certainly come back and stay there :)

Staying in Notting Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighborhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.
