This hotel is in a good position for tube/train etc but it is very tired. Had a tiny room with dirty valence on the bed and a sheet and duvet which was folded over horizontally - none of it looked that clean. The toilet was dirty when I moved in - not flushed! Shower and roof in the shower in... More

We shared a family room with our 2 teenage boys - a bit of a squeeze to get into the "pod" type bathroom but everything worked - there was even a fridge and it was comfortable. We all slept well and enjoyed a large breakfast. Staff were helpful and the place was clean. Obviously, corners are cut - but not... More

I went there with two kids and was on the second floor. The room was clean and shower okay. The beds are small but comfortable The windows where NOT child-safe (easy to look out and fall down). It was hot outside and no air condicion. Breakfast was horrible and very sweet and dining-room was to small so we didn´t eat... More

Stayed one night in a party of 5 elderlies. Shame we were allocated rooms on the 4th floor, no lift and around 80 stairs. There was a chance of re-allocation but we chose to get the exercise, and then get our to explore. Worth confirming the floor of the room when booking though. Clean basic accommodation, but a few problems... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Dolphin and we plan to return in 2 years. We are aware of the little glitches that arise from being in a Hotel that was built over 100 years ago and are most easily overcome. We understand this is not the Waldorf on the Thames and we do love it here for us... More

I booked a twin room at Dolphin hotel but, once there, we where given a room in Shakespeare hotel(same owner I think). We had a spacious triple room at the ground floor with a beautifull view on the quiet park of the place. The room was clean, with tea and coffe facilities and a fridge. Breakfast was basic but ok... I got a great deal with my travel agent which paid for 1 nights accommodation at Shakespeare hotel. So after 24 hours travelling from Australia I was exhausted, needed a shower and sleep. Upon checkin I was told I'd been moved to their sister Hotel the dolphin 2 doors down. Pokey, outdated little room, separate toilet I could hardly fit... More

Do not be fooled by the images, this hotel needs to be inspected by the appropriate authority and closed as a matter of urgency. We reserved our hotel room at the Shakespeare Hotel chosen for the view overlooking Norfolk Sq. gardens. On arrival we were informed our booking had been transferred to the Dolphin Hotel, the sister hotel two doors... More
