I stayed at here for 6 nights and on the first day I arrived it's difficult for me to find the place as I arrived late night and the reception already close and with help from the local people who eventually walking at there I managed to see the owner of the place Mr. Basil. My room was small, old... More

I have never made the time to review hotels and my shock and disgust has prompted my action. I promise to write more especially for great places that take so much effort to make our visits positive. I had reserved to stay here for three nights paying £109 per night. The owner sits in the corner of the hallway and... More

This place has a great location. Lots of shops and great restaurants all around. Loved being so close to the tube and Whole Foods. We stayed in unit 9 and it was great for a family of 4. The kitchen is old but the fridge & washing machine work great. We didn't cook here during our stay. All of the... More

I felt compelled to write a review of my stay. I had booked the two bedroom two bathroom flat (#7), and THEN read all of the reviews of this place. I was sick to my stomache about it, so worried that this might be an awful place. My family and I arrived and WOW, we had a great experience. Flat... More

I read so many bad reviews about this place but for me it was perfect. Location was great - in the heart of chelsea, right beside hyde park which is beautiful for walks, very close to the main shopping district - harrods, oxford circus etc. The place was clean and had my own kitchen so we ate in a few... The hotel owner said the hotel was very nice and the room is suitable for a family with 4 people. we went there and OMG! it was unbelievably old, dirty. We were soo unhappy after long hours of flight and we didnt not want to stay there. the owner is the worst person ever. he threatened us by calling police... More

Okay, so I didn't listen because this was such a great location. I read the reviews on Tripadvisor and just could not resist the location for the price. On our 3-week holiday traveling through three different countries, this was one of my biggest mistakes! First positives -- great location, good Internet, no bugs, main stuff worked like fridge and washer...so,... More

Complete nightmare! We had paid for three nights in advance but when arriving we were told that we should stay in another apartment across the city. After some protests he admitted this was a private apartment and not part of the hotel. We refused saying we had booked and paid to stay at the hotel- the manager then put us... More

My husband booked this hotel through agoda.com and didn't see these reviews. If we had, we would have never stayed here. Instead of giving a narrative, I kept a list of everything while we were there. - no microwave - bed was slanted and I almost fell out several times during the night - water faucets (kitchen and bath) have... Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
