We needed an easy hotel that is within walking distance to the American Embassy - and this is a great one. Right next to Hyde Park and right by a tube station it is a perfect base to see London. The rooms, if you get a standard one, are pretty basic, very small and quite old fashioned but they are... More

Unfortunately we only stayed one night before our flight back home. We really enjoyed this hotel as the decor was a lovely old style which fitted the architecture of the building and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Our room was very nice and a good size, I had booked a deluxe double. Initially we could hear the street... More

My first impression of our room was disappointment It was dull and dark and smelled like someone had been smoking. Below our window must have been the staff smoking area. The room was at the back so there was no traffic noise at night. The terrace at the back was shabby as was some of the chairs in the dining... More

Underground is just across the road, parks just across the road. Pubs and deli's everywhere. Rooms small but comfortable. Very old english style. Double bed very comfortable and warm. Importantly bathroom very clean. Missed no tea or coffee making facility but room really only to sleep in. Breakfast good continental, cooked available at a cost. Very good staff. The lift... More

This was a good buy for London. It is an historic hotel, so upgrades cannot be made or the hotel will lose it's historic status. That being said, it was an excellent place to stay. We did not spend much time in the room, so only needed a sleeping space. The room with a double bed cost more, so we... More

Stayed twice with my wife this August in a double deluxe room that had a charming old English feel about it and quite spacious for London, so would not hesitate to stay there again when in London. The location at Lancaster Gate is second to none and the staff very friendly and attentive. We also enjoyed the Continental breakfast each... More
