Stayed here as part of a business trip. Booked the hotel last minute as needed somewhere close to the Grovesner house hotel as was attending an event near by. Was not expecting much as the booking was rather cheap and there appeared to be lots of space. Once arrived, I was met by very friendly staff who checked me in... More

Stayed 5 nights in July, very good, have already booked another stay. The hotel is old fashioned but very clean and comfortable. Good sized room (by London standards) & bathroom ok. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, breakfast was good & breakfast room is really nice.Free wi-fi, connection was very quick. Location is perfect, right next to Lancaster... More

Stayed here for my husbands 50th birthday. We stayed in the Hyde Park suite which was wonderful. It has 2 large rooms, one with a large bed and one a large sitting area. We had a balcony where you can take afternoon tea watching the world go by. You can see Hyde park and can be in it in less... More

Dear guest, Thank you for sending the review about your stay in August 2013 You are right that the hotel is very old - actually it dates back to 1850. It is a listed grade 2 building with special architectural and historic interest and therefore we are restricted to the size of the lift installed. It is small and cosy... More

This hotel gave us a wonderful experience. Large rooms, friendly staff, this hotel is beautiful. Clean, tidy and with a fantastic dining room serving from breakfast through to dinner. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone going to London. Located opposite Hyde Park near Marble Arch, Central London at its finest!!

We stayed in the Hotel for six days during June. Location could not be better. Just a few steps from the underground and opposite the park. This in an old building that is very well cared for. Our room was large by European standards. It is very clean. Bed (double) was very comfortable although a little narrow. Bathroom was simple,... More

Downside: Furnishings are a bit worn, floors somewhat uneven and a slow elevator holds two if they stand very closely together. The lighting in our room was terrible, could barely see to read at night. Upside: That said, the service was excellent and staff was friendly and helpful. The cleanliness was superb. The attached restaurant was very good. The location... More

As others have stated, the hotel is quite small and dated, but I suppose this is part of its charm for some travellers. The bar is cosy and the dining room is pleasant enough. We ate at the hotel on our first evening and the food was quite acceptable. The breakfast is basic continental. Martin (barman) and Paula (waitress/bar) were... More

If you are looking for ultra plush, modern surroundings with a sparking pool and other amenities this is NOT the hotel for you. If you would like to stay in what was once a private house, then boarding for the Polish Air Force during WWII, then transformed into a charming hotel, then this is the place for you. A bus... More

We stopped in here one hot Sunday afternoon for a cream tea on the terrace, and I'm so glad we did. It's a secluded little sun trap decoarted with countless roses (100 according to the hotel). The hotel itself is a really rather dated, and the terrace could use a little love to make it super sharp, but the service... More
