Was really looking forward to staying here but the experience was ruined by being given a connecting room in which we could hear next doors TV and conversation (thank god that's all we heard!) which resulted in a sleepless night and saying goodbye to a Sunday lay in (awoken at 6am because of the thin walls - impressive that the... I stayed with my partner in the westbury after booking a last minute secret hotel deal for two nights. The hotel was charming and the staff were all extremely nice and attentive. Our room had a classic look with a kingsize bed which was extremely comfy!! We ordered room service for breakfast one morning which we had the full English... More

Staying here on Valentine's day for one night. A big busy hotel in the centre of Mayfair with efficient friendly team with comfortable beds and pillows (very important ) unfortunately we got in late and found the couple next door arguing loudly. I had to get the night porter to call them (but I had to persuade the porter twice... More

Nice lobby, good staff (overall), clean decent sized rooms. Average food, terrible in room hairdryer, no in room iron, two single beds pushed together to form a "double". Two out of three stays, I was overcharged versus my confirmation and I had to did out my receipt and have my bill re-done. The cynic in me wonders how often they... More

I have stayed at the Westbury many times over the past 15 years mainly for location and comfort. I still rate this hotel but it's standards have dropped in the last 3 years. I would use again on business but not with family, it's not child friendly even though our daughter is a well mannered 11 year old and the... More

Having booked here we then checked the reviews, so was a little apprehensive after reading some of the negative reviews. However, I found the Westbury to be very good. The rooms were great, we had refurbished rooms and couldn't fault them. Apparently some of the rooms on the lower floors are a little tired, but not on the seventh floor.... More

Good stay at the Westbury, rooms are very clean and convenient, quiet, service is very attentive and professional. Drinks at the bar were really good. Breakfast too. But it's a bit overpriced and it's not a 5 stars as advertised, it's more like a 4 stars. Location is good in Mayfair.

We spent the night at the Westbury for our anniversary and were upgraded from a Queen to a King room and given a chocolate cake. That was very kind and we did appreciate it. However even the ugraded room was somewhat disappointing I can't say it was worthy of a ' luxury' hotel. Several floor tiles in the bathroom were... More

Myself and my 15 yr old daughter are just back from a 4 night stay at the hotel. The location is perfect. Oxford street, Leicester square, Picadilly, Soho all within 2-5 mins walking distance from hotel. It was fabulous. Every one of the staff have excellent communication and hospitality skills with the clients. We were treated like royalty from the moment... More

Very disappointed. The lobby area is very elegant. Very classy. Once you get to your floor of the hotel, it's very clear their budget only stretches as far as the lift area. Very small, cramped rooms. Horrific service and service charges. Rude receptionists. Will never ever stay here again.

Staying in Mayfair

Neighborhood Profile
Mayfair
Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.
