The room is clean and the bed is very good, but I was not too happy With the housekeeping staff who knocked on the door and opened the door 10 Seconds later at 9 a.m. because it was too quick to open the door. We left the room a few minutes later and did not come back before 4 p.m.... More

Great hotel, highly recommended. We had a lovely room (upgraded), neat and quiet therefore no noise from outside. Staff extremely professional yet friendly. Definitely for shopping on Bond Street, Regent Street, Picadilly, St. James etc. Will visit again.

The room was comfortable. As for location, I suppose you can't get much better than Mayfair for poshness in London. The best aspect was the attitude of the staff. They are friendly and helpful, without being obsequious. They seem to treat all guests the same, making no assumptions about relative wealth or "station". Refreshing. We had a lovely stay.

First of all get on the hotel's mailing list to receive "flash offers" of reduced prices on large, comfortable rooms, but be aware that the quoted prices do not include VAT. You should also be aware that you will not have any complimentary water, and the tariff for what is in the room fridge is rather high. Nor will you... More

Very disappointed after a second stay here , having been promised a much nicer room..... none of the rooms have been refurbished but I was told they will all be refurbished by the end of the year. For a 5 star hotel they are shocking - very old an dated, worn and tatty - very very disapppointing . The location... More

We travelled from Norfolk and stayed overnight at the Westbury, having booked it through a booking site. When I looked at the prices at reception I realised that we had a good deal based on what we had paid. The check in process was very efficient, and all of the staff was very attentive, I have a few little gripes,... More

We arrived at the hotel from Australia after 30 hours of continuous travelling. Upon arrival we immediately experienced the pompous attitude from the staff looking down their noses at us. We were dressed casual. Whilst we understand this is a Mayfair hotel we'd also expect some understanding as I'm hardly going to wear a tuxedo to travel from Australia. The... More

The room is a reasonable size for 5* London. Facilities are good. Restaurants are excellent for every meal. The position is very central and walking distance to everything in central London. Service is just as you would expect from this calibre of hotel.

We are now regular visitors to this excellent hotel. Perfect location, helpful and efficient staff where no request is too much. Full breakfast service, now that really is a treat! To make it perfect plus, the hotel should stop the ridiculous charging for wifi - wifi is no different than television for which there is no charge! Five stars for... More

Staying in Mayfair

Neighborhood Profile
Mayfair
Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.
