Second stay at the Westbury Mayfair. Definitely well situated to visit London for business or tourism, Regents street, Oxford street, Soho, Picadilly, St James, at walking distance. Plus a good choice of subway stations. Very comfortable, but a good decoration renovation/modernization would be a plus. A very bad point: bathroom standard is poor (lazy flush which ended in an unpleasant... More

When staying in a so called five star hotel I do not expect to pay for wifi, but I guess if you have to pay a service charge for a tea tray, and the mini bar price for a miniature whisky is a staggering £12 when you can buy a full 75cl bottle for little more then this money grabbing... More

It was to be the Spring event of the Year as we both celebrate birthdays in March. So 5 star hotel in Mayfair , what could go wrong !!! We arrived at 1-40 pm and were told quite briskly that " the room was not ready, so get lost !!! " we had been travelling since 6am and the offer... More

I have just completed a 5 night stay at the Westbury. Apart from an issue with the hotel transfer not meeting us on arrival in London, the stay was very good indeed. The rooms are a good size and the bathrooms large by London hotel standards. The location of the hotel is perfect and surprisingly very quiet, so sleep was... More

I have stayed at this hotel 4 times and each time it has been the same. Tired camped rooms. The sort of room the news you to be by the door to do a push up. No tea or making facilities, They charge you £3.90 for the tray. Travelodge or any other budget chain do this for free. The staff... More

We stayed for one night at the end of March for an anniversary treat. Hotel is in a fantastic location for shopping - also lots of lovely pubs and restaurants nearby. We used the Polo Lounge before we went out in the evening - fantastic service. Would definitely return.

Went for one night and got an upgrade to a suite. I suddenly wondered if I was famous and settled into the living room bit, waiting for a series of earnest 10 minute TV interviews about my terrible new film. Not. But was the hotel in general was great. Everyone was very, very helpful. Cost me 40 quid to park... More

We have stayed here many times over the years and it can't be faulted for location. The rooms can be a bit on the small side sometimes but how long do you really plan on spending in it? It's surrounded by great bars and restaurants, and of course the shopping is fantastic. We always pop into the Polo Bar for... More

Staying in Mayfair

Neighborhood Profile
Mayfair
Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.
