We were 6 girls on a hen night, we arrived at the hotel only to be told the room we had booked (months in advance) had started leaking last night (they did not call us to inform us of this) so they decided to give us a room for 2 and a room for 3, the 6th person was offered... More

I have stayed in a number of small, cheap hotels in Bloomsbury in the same price range (see my other reviews) and this is the worst. Sadly it has potential - the rooms are larger than some, but there are some absolute no-nos which drop it way down. First off, the bed covers in both of the rooms I stayed... More

This hotel is located a few minutes from Russel Square Underground Station and within walking distance of the British Museum and the British Library. Room prices are low - - - compared to other London hotels. The hotel is small and so are the rooms. It looks more like a youth hostel than a hotel. The staff were extremely friendly... More

This is the worst hotel i have ever seen !! Carpets were dirty , as well as the bedding , which is all we had to keep us warm as it was freezing cold.the bathroom was dirty and there were used pieces of tissue stuck to the wall.Breakfast consisted of some very dodgy looking cereal ,tea in a greasy cup... Appreciating that this will be one of the cheaper hotels in the London area, do not expect any luxuries whatsoever. Right from the start where you are greeted by a not particularly welcoming reception area, to the rooms which are very cramped with paper thin walls (you can hear almost everything happening in the rooms either side and from the... The hotel wasn't clean, we had to move the bed because we dropped something and it was disgusting behind there, hadn't been moved for a long time, the kitchen staff talked in their own language and didn't communicate with the guests, very little choice for the continental breakfast, however the reception staff were very friendly and helpful. A lot of these reviews are bashing the place, which is unfair. First determine what you want before deciding (you can't compare a low cost B&B on the same rating scale as the Hilton). If you need: Low cost Room to just sleep & get ready in Something clean (not spotless) Good location Then yes, boom the Guilford. BUT if... More
