First stay at this hotel and I cannot mention any real negative points. The biggest plus is undoubtedly the location. Being pretty close to the underground (Russell Square Station) it's a great place to start your visits throughout London. When you arrive by Eurostar, it's reasonably close to St. Pancras as well. And if you plan some day(s) in the... More

I stayed at the Mercure London Bloomsbury with my two sisters at the end of April as a base for a shopping trip. The location is excellent being 2 minutes walk from the British museum and therefore handily placed for Covent Garden. The hotel is on a busy road with plenty of buses and tube station nearby but we either... More

This has been our third stay at this hotel and we really cannot fault it. The staff are lovely, the rooms are warm and spotless, right in the centre of London and it's great value for money. If I absolutely had to pick a fault with this hotel, it would be the taps are too close to the sink in... More

Comfy beds, conveniently located and breakfast was amazing! I shall be back, the staff are second to none, we stayed in a executive or superior room I think and was worth the extra money with chocolate and wine as it was my partners birthday. Really great!

Really enjoyed my stay at the Mercure. Only there one night unfortunately as I was down working. Had a lovely spacious room, bed was really comfortable. Nice bar and just around the corner from the tube at Russell Square, lot's of pubs and bars around. Will definitely stay again.

Nice place with classic cozy English design. Nice polite staff, pretty good breakfast (there were no fresh vegetables though... :-(...), clean. 10 minute walk from Oxford street. Very good location! The bed was very soft and comfortable.

We stayed here for three nights and especially enjoyed the location. Close to underground stations (Holborn), lots of restaurants and cafés in the neighbourhood, next to British Museum and a short walk from Covent Garden. Could have selected a bigger room - ours was really compact - but it was comfortable and, facing a side street, also very quiet. Attentive... More

Dear SixtenM, Thank you for posting a comment about our hotel on Tripadvisor. We are glad that you have enjoyed your stay and all aspects of our hotel. Stayed two nights for anniversary. Great location only 1 stop from Kings Cross on Piccadilly line, and only 3 stops from Leicester Square. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room (standard double room) was perfect for the two of us and was immaculately clean. Didn't have food in the hotel so cannot comment on this. On a side... More

The Mercure is a hotel "chain" which means generally you know what you'll get and what you'll pay. Mercure Bloomsbury delivers exactly as expected. The rooms are clean and comfortable, small and quiet, and have everything you expect including air conditioning. Breakfast choice is xtensive. I often choose this hotel when I make a quick trip to London and need... More

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
