Excellent location for exploring central London. That is the only excellent part. My room was tiny, the carpet and furnishings were scruffy, however the bathroom had been renovated and was rather nice. I spoke with the staff and I think there are plans afoot to improve it but there is a very long way to go.

OMG! What a hole! We arrived and the reception staff were rude and uncommunicative. Warning bells should have rung at this point. We were questioned about our booking and had to provide evidence of it. Got into room and had an attractive view of a concrete wall. Paper was peeling off the walls and the surfaces were dusty and dirty.... More

Very dated hotel, even though it is in a great central location! The room was tiny, as was the lift to get upstairs to the rooms. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was OK, nothing special. The decor could certainly do with modernising to bring it in line with 2015! However, it was clean and ok for 1 or... More

Booked in here as part of a business trip and wasn't impressed at all. The sign falling off the front of the hotel should possibly have been a giveaway when we arrived! Receptionist friendly and helpful and my colleagues and I noted that we would have to pay £20 if we lost the keys to our rooms. Our rooms were... More

Not the elegant Georgian residence described, the Cheshire is a cramped and dated converted tenement on a narrow and very busy street. Our room and bath were adequate to be sure, but for the price the facilities were somewhat improvised and shabby with slamming doors, broken shades, and stuck windows. While the location is convenient to multiple Tube and bus... More

Judging by previous reviews, we should have avoided this hotel BUT we were delighted to find it was far better than expected. The room was spotless, the bedding pristine and blindingly white. The public areas were also very clean. Breakfast was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel location is great too. On the downside the lifts are... More

Without doubt the worst hotel imaginable, the staff are rude unhelpful and ignorant.I stayed for two nights having booked 6weeks in advance on arrival I was told booking in is strictly at 3pm or I could pay an additional cost to see my room,We arrived at 2.30pm.We had a triple room in which they gave us twin room with a cot... The hotel is value for money. Great location for shopping and near to the underground. Don't expect to much of the hotel and you want be dissapointed. You get a clean bed and a shower and that's about it.

Clean, friendly , great frontage pity the inside isn't the same ,painfully slow lifts and no tea / coffee making facilities. I like a coffee during my stay when I want one, not just available in the restaurant.

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
