2 minutes from the tube station. 5 minutes from theatres, Covent gardens etc. staff very friendly. Room was small but comfortable. Only complaint would be no tea making facilities in the room, other than that well worth the money.

It is an awful shabby hotel. The elevators were not working, the phones were out of order as well. I asked the reception to get me a cab for 4 a.m. as I needed to catch an early flight and double check that I was awake at 4. They forgot both. A they did fetch me a cab in the... More

Clean, comfortable rooms. A little small but that's ok - reflected in the price Breakfast very nice - freshly cooked. Restaurant too small, queue for tables. Bar closed so what's the point having it - could make bigger breakfast room What a shock that no Tea and Coffee in rooms - this is really very penny pinching. Extortionate rates for... More

Haven't slept under a dog blanket for a very long time. Had to peel back the stained sheets to reveal an unsleepable bed, before replacing the dog blankets and sleeping in my clothes on top. Came away feeling very dirty and unhealthy. My colleages had a very similar experience in other rooms. Avoid at all costs!

Just back from a weekend in London to see a Show and stayed at this hotel. I chose it because of proximity to Oxford Street and theatre. Our so called double room was really a single with single headboard and not enough room for two pillows side by side. Toilet roll holder broken, no plug in wash basin, just a... More

Stayed here whist attending a conference, the first time not in a group in London, the staff at the hotel were friendly and very helpful. Not familiar with getting about all the staff were informative. The rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable. So good I've booked to stay there again for this year's conference.

The Cheshire is a little tired and needs a little TLC but it is perfectly located for a theatre visit and it is within walking distance from the British Museum. The beds were clean and the staff were charming.

Can't understand why so many negative reviews,we had twin room ok,it wasn't massive, but for the time we spent in it Was perfect.cant comment on food or drink, only negative was you had to pay for wifi,at some ridiculous price,so we didn't bother. Cracking location, will definitely use again.

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
