Hotel is located opposite the park in Leicester Square, and access by car can be blocked at busy times. Booked a Business class room on 6th floor at back of hotel for a quiet night after reading reviews on this site. Centrally located for the sights and theatre.. Clean and comfortable but bit fusty smelling, Chinese style decor and a... More

Okay, the location alone should tell you that and so I might be slower than most. First, I have no idea about the rooms, if they're anything like the cafe/bar area then I'd rather keep it that way too. As the lighting, decor and ambiance is all very depressing, I felt it had to have been designed by a 30... More

For the second time, I came to The Hampshire with great pleasure for a very nice stay ! Quick check-in and check-out, with the reception desk always in touch with the customer's needs. Very central location in the heart of theaterland, and between many interesting sites. Everybody attending every need, with a sympathetic welcome.

Stayed for one night on a business trip and couldnt fault the hotel facilities. Natalie on reception is a credit to the hotel. Despite it being in the midst of Christmas Party season and many drinks receptions in the bar the head waiter found myself and a colleague a table in the restaurant where we enjoyed a couple of cocktails... We have stayed in this and its close by sister hotel several times and found all rooms comfortable and clean. However, the Edwardian Hampshire has some luxury type rooms that are extra pleasant. They are more spacious and have larger bathrooms with heating racks for the towels, nice robes and slippers. Wifi is provided. Hotel safety is very good. There... More

Super location for the heart of tourist London. Small, tired rooms, in need of some renovation to justify star status. Check-in takes an age of strained greetings (would I like to join the 'Carlson Club', would I like my room upgraded, would I like a refreshment at the bar (I got this one twice), blah, blah, blah). Soaps and shampoos... More

Lovely hotel in a great location with Oxford Street, China Town and Covent Garden all within easy walking distance and the underground nearby. All the staff were pleasant and helpful throughout our stay from storing our luggage on arrival to helping us get a taxi on our return journey to Waterloo Station. We stayed over a weekend so breakfast on... More

Very nice building but my room had leaky windows and a poor heating system. Staff were kind but couldn't fix the problem. Excellent location if you enjoy the theatre and want to use the TKTS kiosk right outside the building. Leicester Square underground is very nearby. We like the convenience of a straight shot (although not the speediest) ride on... More

I have never been so mistreated in any uk hotel as I have tonight by a foreign manager who paid no attention to what we expected and normally received from this hotel, he who has temporarily been put in place in a London hotel to cover the Christmas period; in a hotel where I have probably filled over a thousand... We stayed here for my birthday week-end treat. We went to see Miss Saigon at the Prince Edward Theatre, then a meal at Escargot. the hotel was perfectly placed for everything. Lovely atmosphere around the hotel, with good bars and restaurants

Staying in Soho

Neighborhood Profile
Soho
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighborhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
