Stayed here over Christmas. We occupied a triple room which was more than adequate, the only slight criticism is that the refrigerator was a little noisy. The hotel is well placed for Tower Bridge, Liverpool St. station, spitalfields market and the multi ethnic Brick Lane. Aldersgate East tube station is next door which allows easy access to all London attractions.... More

It's an "ok" hotel within 10 mins walk to Liverpool St station, walking distance to the Tower of London too. The hotel is clean, the room was quite spacious and the staff was quite attentive and polite. The bathroom was in need of a bit of repair but acceptable. Water not very warm... although another colleague staying in another room... More

My girlfriend and I came to London for the weekend for my birthday and we stayed at the City Hotel. As far as we were concerned there were no problems at all. We got to London at 10.10am and got the tube to the hotel. Because we couldn't be bothered waiting for a Hammersmith and City line train at King's... More

Stayed for one night with work. After reading the reviews I was dreading it but actually the room was large and clean, the staff were very helpful and it was good value. Ok it was a bit noisy, especially when a family of what appeared to be furniture moving builders checked in at 2am but after that short disturbance was... More

I loved this hotel in the past because of excellent location from London banking district (where I visited my company office), close to Aldgate East tube stop, just 15 minutes of walk to the Tower/Tower Bridge. However this time I was rather disappointed how loud the hotel was. Probably due to a room price below GPB 100 my floor was... More

crowds of rowdy youngsters with what seems like their entire extended families are prowling the corridors, knocking on doors, slamming doors, banging on walls, shouting, arguing, seemingly rearranging furniture into the early hours... Checked out at 1am in desperate move to another hotel to get some sleep. Staff are really lovely, rooms are basically fine, but not a hotel for... More

Pleasant stay, clean and basic. Some charm, particularly in the stairs and halls, which others might call dated. Street can be noisy on occasion, but better from 4th floor where a balcony shields you from noise (and there are views of the Gherkin). 2 minutes to Aldgate East station on District line. Great access to the financial district, and about... More

Pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Lovely large room very clean. Great cheap curry house next to hotel. We went to the tower of London and it was an easy walk for us and right near Aldgate East tube stop

We needed somewhere to stay fairly last minute, but I wasn't overly impressed with this hotel. The location was good for the tube but that was about the only real positive. The room was scruffy with lots of holes in the walls where fixtures had been previously removed. The bathroom was very outdated and the bed linen looked like it... More
