I think this hotel was fine on the whole, but our stay ended on a low note when my husband left an expensive new shirt in the wardrobe in our room by mistake when we left. When I got in touch with the hotel less than 12 hours after we'd left, the cleaning staff said the shirt wasn't there where... More

Stayed at City Hotel for a week for a business trip to London. Was put up in a great new room, looks like they're going through a refurbishment at the moment. I had issues with my American credit card in London so I asked my bank to send a new card to my hotel, Erica at reception was very nice... More

Really enjoyed our stay here. The hotel is undergoing a refub programme at the moment although this did not inconvenience us in any way. The new parts including the reception and bar areas are smart and modern and the staff were excellent - nothing was too much trouble. The bedroom we stayed in was exceptionally clean, bathroom a bit tired... More

This hotel was classed as a secret boutique on last minute.com. Although some of the staff were friendly the hotel was appalling. Within ten minutes if arrival we asked to move rooms based on the air conditioner leakage causing damp smell and wet carpet. We were moved to the next room whereby the damp in the bathroom caused the paint... More

A lovely evening without the kids! We stayed in one of the updated rooms.... A comfy bed, great pillows (and I usually take my own!) The walk in shower was part of a really swish bathroom with gorgeous thick, proper sized towels. I loved the style of the room, and an added bonus was the Freeview TV channels. Breakfast was... Four of us stayed in one room to keep the price to the minimum. The hotel is currently undergoing a major refurbishment. We were told that we were the first guests to stay in our newly refurbished room. The room was on the top floor just near the lift. When the lift arrived you could hear the bell sound but... More

First of all, City Hotel is the closest hotel for the city attraction tourist especially the closeby transport and many Asien restuarants. All the employees who contribute their service to the Hotel is extordinary especially Waiter Shahidul. Room serivce, Hospitality, Tourist information etc. were excellent. I recommened the City Hotel is the best for city attraction tourist.

I visited the City hotel as a lone female as I was on business and needed an overnight stay. Whilst the location is good for the tube, I didn't find it at all pleasant for a lone female, partly because there was a lack of places to eat (and the hotel does not have a restaurant) but secondly because the... Staying in Whitechapel

Neighborhood Profile
Whitechapel
Whether you're here for its dynamic street life, world class galleries or famed curry houses, you're bound to be wowed by the uniquely cosmopolitan flavor of Whitechapel. Long gone are the days when Jack the Ripper stalked its streets. And despite his mysterious legacy bringing throngs of curiosity driven tour groups to its back alleys and otherwise serene garden squares, these days you're more likely to catch a cutting edge fashionista scurrying through its age old lanes than criminals of any sort.
