Stayed here for 4 nights with my husband. When we arrived at the hotel the concierge took our bags from the taxi into the hotel for us, I said to my husband at this point were at the wrong hotel I'm sure it was only a 3star hotel we booked, we were at the correct hotel & first impressions were... I have just returned from a weekend in London and stayed at he President Hotel and after having read some of the negative comments I was a little concerned about staying here. I should not have worried. The room was lovely, dining area nicely furnished and a good breakfast. I will return to this hotel next time I visit london

Excellent location near Russell Square and safe. Location means you can walk everywhere without any transport hassles. Rooms small but mine was clean and today . Breakfast (continental) was basic but 5 pounds allowed an upgrade to full breakfast which was much better. A budget hotel and would recommend for anyone who just needs a central base for sight- seeing.... More

Booked 2 rooms for a full week for a family of 4. We stayed at the attic floor, with a really old elevator, that maybe not everyone wants to take a ride in! The week we were there was quite warm but no fan or AC, and since the windows turns to directly towards other rooms it was hard to... More

Stayed at the President Hotel for one night on 26/07/14. Easy check in reception staff very pleasant, very nice room, lovely comfortable bed, no air con but the windows left open created a nice breeze, it was a bit noisy from the traffic but nothing unbearable. The bathroom was a little small and dated, but we were only staying for... More

This hotel is okay - just about. Two nights The breakfast is fine - good buffet and pleasant dining area breakfast. But the bedrooms are moderate. Mine was clean but very hot, basic and rather uninspiring. As it is reasonably priced by London standards - but still not brilliant value for money - this, I suspect, is why it is... More

This is an expensive hotel for what you get. Our bedroom opened into this gigantic courtyard, so no privacy with the window open. No AC or even a fan. Bathroom was average in cleanliness and size. Free wifi in lobby only. Breakfast was ok, but no atmosphere, staff is apathetic. Pros: near a tube stop, central location, great pubs nearby.

The first experience of going to the room was of a tired corridor, heavily scuff marked, no doubt by cleaners' trollies, and with depressing brown doors in need of restaining. The room, however, had obviously been refurbished and was basic, but clean, and the bed comfortable. The only drawback was that the metal window-frame had warped and so would not... More
