Second time visiting The Rookery in a month. Three nights in total. Really nice boutique hotell with historic Victorian/Harry Potter-ish atmosphere. Friendly, welcoming and helpfull Staff. All rooms are different with its own unique charm. Visit the "honesty bar" for a drink in relaxed atmosphere. Short walk to the Farringdon rail- and subway station. The area has plentyfull of restaurants,... More

Stayed here for the first two days of a three week vacation. We had a beautiful room (the Blizard) with a statue in the bathroom. Our queen size bed was extremely comfortable, and we needed smaller one for the kid, which he called one of the most comfortable ever. Underground, Paul Bakery, and a nice pub were all close by,... Booked in by the office at the end of a long trip it was a fantastic break from the run of the mill hotels. Tucked away but loads of great restaurants around (I walked across to the Hix Chop Bar where you get a free glass of champagne if you stay in the hotel .... which was nice); the room... More

I stayed at the Rookery for seven nights in mid /late August 2014. It was a bit of a splurge for me, but I wanted a smaller hotel that had a lot of charm. I couldn't have picked a better place to stay in London. My room was on the first floor, but very quiet. It was also a decent... More

I hadn't originally planned on booking here, but things sometimes just fall into place. And what a place! Tucked away with its front door off the main street, conveniently close to the Tube station, situated amongst restaurants and pubs, and staffed with the friendliest, professional staff ... is The Rookery. All that ... AND Lady Grey. Charming, quirky and posh!... More

We enjoyed the true English ambiance and lovely rooms. Furnishings were beautiful, noteworthy English garden and fantastic history. Each room had a book of bios and we stayed in the Sally Salisbury room. Portraits of each individual were in the room in which they resided.

Our second visit and again stepping back into a true Dickensian atmosphere was a wonderful experience. All rooms are named after characters who lived in the original building or in the surrounding area and whose lives are detailed in an extremely detailed directory in the room. Staff were very helpful and the breakfast which we had in our room was... More

My family recently stayed at the Rookery for 3 nights. We had two rooms, one having a rollaway bed for third person. The building is old, has its quirks, but wow, it is lovely! It is also very comfortable. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful both before arrival in answering my numerous emails, and during our stay... More

Beautifully decorated and styled, gorgeous hotel! Lovely roll top bath, gorgeous large wooden bed. We were up high in the rafters but they are so well cared for. Not a single cobweb. The room wasn't overly large but was perfect for our 3 night stay. Perfect place for our short honeymoon. At a stone's throw from both the overground international... More

We stayed here on our way back to the States from an whirlwind European vacation. It was a charming hotel with a big, soft bed and very good AC. The staff were very, very nice and helpful (even doing a load of laundry for us). We would be happy to stay here again.
