Got an attractively priced Sunday night deal and were delighted to be upgraded on arrival. Could not fault staff or facilities but am aware that we paid around a third of the listed price. I had some small feedback for reception staff on checking out which was graciously accepted, and was strictly in the context of how I'd feel if... More

Boutique holtel with charme and character, in the old colonial style. lots of attention to details! Spaceous rooms, beautifully furnished, everyone different. Charming reading and coffee rooms. Was there on business but would also stay privately for a weekend. One of the nicest hotels downtown london i have ever stayed at. Infrastructure will be less than in a large hotel... More

We have walked passed the Rookery many times and it was an itch we wanted to scratch - so glad we did. The staff are wonderfully personable and the hotel is full of great touches. On arrival the whole place smelt of beeswax and the polish of a well kept, old property. Every room is individual and comes with history... More

My wife (Sheila) and I just got back from a September 2014 European vacation which began in London. This hotel (really more like a B&B) was marvelous. The staff almost adopts you so that we really hating leaving. The hotel was quaint, quirky & extremely charming. Very European as opposed to places like the big chain hotels. It was in... More

We stayed at the Rookery for three nights and hated to leave. Our room was beautifully appointed and very comfortable. Had the best sleep here in a very luxurious bed. The location of the hotel near the Farringdon tube and railway station worked very well for us. We found the staff to be very helpful. The hotel was a charming... More

What a treasure! Hidden in a little alley by Smithfield Market, this hotel has the feel of an English Gentleman's Club. The staff are very attentive, the rooms are tastefully decorated and the facilities are comfortable. The location was super - great restaurants within a block and a 20 minute walk from the Tate Modern and the Globe Theatre on... More

Recommend you take time to read about the rooms and then try and get the one you want...we were in the William Blizzard room, a good size and very comfortable, very clean and had all the amenities (but no plug socket for the hairdryer near a mirror....even in chain hotels this is sometimes lacking.) The stay was short, only one... More

Amazingly laid out romantic hotel in a quiet corner of Smithfield, with discreet special service and unusual, comfortable rooms. A good night's sleep and perfectly located for local restaurants and other attractions. Close to Farringdon Tube. Pleasing to see an explanation of the history of the building.

We, and many of the wedding party stayed at the Rookery last Friday and Saturday evening. Our daughter (the bride) and her now husband were upgraded from a suite to the Rookery. The Hotel is brilliant, rooms fantastic and the staff excellent. If you are looking for modern this isn't the place, but it has free WiFi and a lovely... More

We have had the good fortune to stay here on a number of occasions and each time the staff have been excellent in their support no matter what we required. It is an oasis in the thriving city but of course it does have its weaknesses if you are looking for a modern chain hotel! The rooms are different and... More
