I was very happy to stay at the famous Aster House in South Kensington. Rick Steves recommended it so I figured if it is good enough for Rick, it must be very good! I have spent time in London before and knew I wanted to stay in the South Kensington area as it is suburban enough to feel relaxing after... More

My mother, sister and I had a lovely stay at this Bed and Breakfast for our girls getaway. Perfect location, wonderful breakfast and service that is top notch. Not one of our needs went unmet. We plan to stay here again very soon!

We stayed here from Christmas thru New Year day. The location was perfect...a 3 minute walk from the South Kensington tube station. Great local dining. The Aster house was perfect...with great breakfasts. The only con was the super small showers but I think that is common for Europe. Would HIGHLY recommend the Aster House!

Aster House is perfectly located in South Kensington on a quiet street. It is close to the underground and the Natural History Museum, the science museum, Hyde Park etc. There are lots of good restaurants nearby. Ms Tam is extremely efficient and manages things effortlessly. A great place to stay.

Ms. Leonie Tam at the Aster House is a gem. She was very quick with communication and our reservation was perfect! The Aster House is in a lovely part of Chelsea very close to the tube station and within walking distance to the museum. The house has a lovely breakfast room with a very standard breakfast but exceptional service! The... More

I did not expect to find a Bed and Breakfast in such a super location. The exterior of the building is beautiful, in keeping with the other residences in the area. The interior is elegant and the dining room is light and airy. Our room was spotlessly clean. We received a very warm welcome, lots of helpful advice and a... More

My wife and I stayed at the Aster House for a week while in London. Located in South Kensington and convenient to the tube station, And the Victoria & Albert museum, Aster House is a charming B&B. Leonie Tan and her staff were friendly, helpful and did their best to give us a comfortable and memorable visit. Highly recommended.

I booked the accommodation over the phone with Leona who handled it, and my subsequent arrival, in a friendly and efficient manner. She warned me beforehand that the room was on the 5th floor and there was no lift but this didn't worry me as I only had a small overnight bag and enjoyed the exercise! The room itself, although... What a wonderful Georgian house with a beautiful breakfast room. The staff is friendly, the rooms are elegant, the bathrooms modern. Then there's the location, which we have found makes or breaks a vacation. South Kensington has to be one of the best tourist tube stops, with three intersecting lines including one that goes straight to Heathrow, and another that... More

The hosts, John and Leona, could not be more helpful! The breakfast, although delicious, does not seem home baked. The area has convenience stores, loads of restaurants, and very close to buses and the underground. We slept like babies. Very clean. Limited parking...not a good idea to have a car in London anyway.

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
