Next time we are in London, this will be our home away from home. The location is great, as South Kensington is a lovely neighborhood (ATMs, grocery stores, pharmacies and many restaurants within a 4 block radius) and Aster House is less than 5 minutes walk from the S. Kensington Tube station. Plus the Natural History Museum and the Victoria... More

This is a nice little gem tucked away in a fantastic and very safe neighborhood. Close to the tube and bus stops and nice walking distance to many attractions. Very clean and the breakfast was substantial enough to start the day off right. Also, there are many nice restaurants to choose from in the immediate area. Only one caution -... More

Last year we had our first experience with Aster House and when we booked a cruise leaving from Harwich, England we decided to once again visit one of our favorite cities for two days before our cruise and again, stay at Aster House. This incredibly well located B & B was a joy last year and didn't disappoint this year.... More

My grown daughter and I spent a week in S. Kensington staying at Aster House, which is about a block from the S. Kensington tube station, which is serviced by Circle, District and Piccadilly lines. It is a beautiful place, with about a dozen rooms and an Orangerie for a very good buffet breakfast with several pre-prepared hot items. The... More

I have stayed at Aster House five time over the past six years, most recently in late May 2015, and have never been disappointed. Aster House is a small hotel in a Victorian row house on a quiet, tree-lined residential street in South Kensington, London. Though not in the center of London, Aster House is only two blocks from the... More

Everything was great. Leonie was very helpful. We needed a baby sitter for one night and she assisted us with making those arrangements and provided suggestions to the sitter about where to go. The room was very nice and perfectly sized for our family of three. Comfortable with a nice bathroom. Breakfast was fine with your basic items. Location is... More

We have stayed at this wonderful London B&B three times in the last four years. Very close to South Kensington tube station and within easy walking distance to restaurants, grocery store, post office and museums. Your hosts, Leonie and her husband are very helpful for directions, dinner reservations, bus routes, and general helpful advice. A limo transport to Heathrow with... More

The only thing better than this prime South Kensington location (3 minutes from the South Ken underground station), is Leonie & her staff! They were hospitable, knowledgeable and could not do enough for me. My room faced a quiet street, was comfortable (not luxurious) and clean. Bathroom was the size of a small postage stamp, but who cares, especially with... More

We stayed here immediately before my sons wedding largely because it was the only place which would guarantee to let us into the room to get ready by 1pm! The street is beautiful, the rooms were scrupulously clean, quiet, comfortable and warm and the beds were comfortable and the cotton sheets oh so soft. The decor was not as traditional... More

We recently returned from a 6 night stay at Aster House, which we saw recommended by Rick Steves. The location is fantastic, and Leonie was most helpful with directions, places to eat, and what to do. Breakfast was delicious, varied, and plentiful. We had room 1 and it was very comfortable and did not involve climbing steps. Everything was very... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
