My wife and I enjoyed our stay at Aster House (BTW, how do people make reservations, stay here, pay their bill and yet call it "Astor" House, Aster "Hotel", Aster "Hostel" etc?) We were swayed by Rick Steves' report and by its excellent location. Being poor worker-bees, we had to stretch our budget to stay here, but we're glad we... more

We stayed at the Aster House for 7 nights and would highly recommend it! The location in South Kensington was excellent. You can get there easily from Heathrow on the PIcadilly Line. Aster House is just a couple minutes from the tube and there are a variety of great ethnic restaurants just down the street. The neighborhood is quaint and... more

We had a fantastic Christmas vacation in London, headquartered at the Aster House for a week. I researched B&Bs myself online and through guide books, then corresponded directly with the hosts. I found that many B&Bs in London closed down for Christmas week, but we were lucky enough to find rooms at Aster House--book early! The Tans (hosts) were genial,... more

This was our second annual visit to London. After arriving from a week in Paris, we were exhausted and ready for another delightful stay at the Aster House. Once again, we were not disappointed. Our room (on the third floor) was beautiful and well appointed. Immaculately clean. A welcome refuge. The location of the Aster House is ideal. The tube... more

This is a charming B&B that Rick Steves recommended. My husband and I stayed there for the past 5 or 6 years, as we go into London at least once a year to visit family and friends. Unfortunately, last year we were asked to move out for one night as they had muddled their reservations, and we accommodated them. We... more

My wife and I just got back from a stay at Aster House for our honeymoon. It definitely exceeded our expectations. The managers are extremely attentive and are always available to help. The location in South Ken is great - just a couple of blocks from the tube, but on a quiet residential street. We were in room number 12,... more

My daughter and I stayed for 6 nights and had a great time in London. We used the underground to get everywhere. The station is a 5 minute walk from Astor house. It is a quiet neighborhood with restaurants, pubs, bakeries, Starbucks, post office and more close by. Our room was very comfortable. It was room #7. Had 2 front... more

My husband and I had three lovely nights at Aster House. Our room, room #1, was spacious and airy. It was also very quiet which was a real plus. The owners were very helpful and went out of their way to satisfy the guests. The area is great -- very close to the underground and to Kensington Gardens. We would... more

My husband and I went to visit a close friend of mine in London and needed to find a place to stay that was not too expensive (especially since the American dollar is so weak against Sterling) and was close to the Tube. The Aster house was perfect for us! First of all, it is located in a wonderful, safe... more

I stayed at the Aster House for 10 days in February 2008, in one of the standard single rooms. First, let me say that the location of this pleasant bed and breakfast is absolutely perfect. It's a one-minute walk to the South Kensington tube station, and within half a block you'll find a grocery store, post office, Starbucks, pharmacy and... more
