A calming escape from the hullabaloo of busy London. Impeccable and attentive service from this family owned hotel, perfect if popping into the green bagged grocer across the street. Good no nonsense traditional afternoon tea with imaginative selection of teas, served with all the things one expects, fairly priced. Such a perfect London indulgence that just makes so much sense.

Have stayed at the Capital many times and for many years; it's a home away from home. A great location for shopping and dining, and around the corner from the Knightsbridge tube station. Staff are excellent; able to secure theater tickets on short notice and have good advice for restaurants.

Great location, very welcoming, intimate hotel in the heart of Knightsbridge. The staff are always very welcoming. The location is perfect for shopping at Harrods and Harvey Nichols. Drinks service in the bar is very professional though it can often be a bit of a struggle getting a table as it is quite small. Breakfast was very good and we... More

My third stay here. The staff are really what makes The Capital. They are amazing. Real old school London at its best. The location is also excellent, so convenient. Highly recommended. I didn't eat in the restaurant but from what I could see from the Bar it looked incredible too.

I've stayed at the capital for many years - either on my own on Business or with my Wife for social reasons eg Shopping, Theatre etc. You're always assured of a warm welcome from everyone that works there and nothing is too much trouble - this will continue to be our 1st choice when staying in London..!

We again booked at The Capital , and the location in Basil Street for shopping & restaurants can not bet better. The Capital is among the best hotels (if you prefer smaller places with 1st class service) in London, and the friendly people, rooms, restaurant, bar etc., all live up to the expectations. Thank you Capital staff for making our... More

I take the tube from the very close Knightsbridge station to everwhere in London including Heathrow airport. A friend and I went to the Capital for afternoon tea in September 2014. The staff while appropriately formal also treated us in a very friendly manner. Our waiter suggested teas we might like, I ordered a Silver Thread white tea which was light and refreshing, Our sandwiches were freshly made and yum, our scones were straight from the oven... More

Staying in Knightsbridge

Neighborhood Profile
Knightsbridge
When millions of tourists want to shop 'til they drop, they do it along Brompton Road and its boutique-lined tributaries, including the world-renowned Harrods. And when millionaires want to flaunt what they've already got, many of them find Knightsbridge and Belgravia the perfect place to do so, often behind stately mansion walls or down quiet private mews. Delve beyond the ultra-luxe exterior and you'll find some of this city's cosiest pubs, quiet gardens, and all sorts of indie retailers and enterprises worth a short exercise in spontaneous window shopping. For those looking to take a break from shopping, Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, and some of the city's most popular museums are nearby.
