We were treated to lunch here yesterday (28th December) everything about The Savoy is top class, from the greeting at the front foyer to the attention to detail over lunch. We had the festive menu which was very good. The choices suited everyone's palate and although it was 'big plates small portions' we were all comfortably full after 3 courses.... More

Impeccable service. The beds will spoil you. The room was a luxury king and had enormous space room. The bath was outstanding. Our only hiccup was housekeeping. Aft leaving a do not disturb, we found someone making up the room. We asked why and were told they overrode do not disturb if no one answered their knock. After that ,... More

We stayed at the Savoy for the few days leading up to Christmas. We were surprised when booking (many months in advance) that the room rate was somewhat accessible to mere mortals (ie. competitive with the many "less-hyped" 5-star London hotels). The actual experience was never going to live up to the hype. That said, there were many aspects that... More

If you want to experience THE definition of a world class hotel that combines an amazing history, unsurpassed service, incredible accommodation, wonderful food, a fantastic Concierge and a great location in the best capital city in the world, stay at The Savoy. I have to admit that staying here has been on my "bucket list" for many years. I finally... More

We thought that a few days away in this beautiful hotel was what we needed. But it fell very short on festive fun. Christmas Day dinner priced at £195. Per person was over priced with one slice of white meat and one if dark four tiny parsnips about two inches and looked liked small French fries three small roast potatoes... More

We stayed at the legendary Savoy just as the Christmas season was getting cranked up in early December. It was the first time I'd been there in about 15 years, so the renovation was new to me. The great parts: location is close to Covent Garden, rooms are very comfortable, food is outstanding, and the staff are most courteous and... More

This was our 3rd stay at the Savoy and it never disappoints. Stayed in the Kathryn Hepburn suite with fantastic views of the Thames. Perfect service from the moment you step out of your car, bags whisked away to be delivered to your room, personal greeting from the reception staff, all smoothly done. The American Bar is a must with... More

Stayed overnight on 20th Dec, can't help but feel that as we'd booked through another website and got a discounted room we were given the "cheap seats" up on the 9th floor. No one showed us were to check in, no one took out bags to our room, or even offered. We waited 45 mins for an ironing board only... More

I love The Savoy. The old Savoy. Her Ladyship and I stayed at The Savoy dozens of times between the mid-1980's and the early 1990's (when we purchased a flat in London) and were treated like family. I once negotiated the purchase of a company on the Terrace. A dozen of us celebrated New Years overlooking the Thames. We networked... More

We stayed here for my 50th birthday for two nights. The hotel common areas are all very palatial and impressive as you would expect from a 5 star hotel, but not stuffy and the location is excellent. We booked a courtyard art deco room with king bed and were allocated a corner room, which was very spacious and comfortable. Lovely... More

Dear Guest, Thank you for your review and I am glad that overall you enjoyed a celebratory stay at The Savoy, but so sorry to learn of some of the poor service issues you experienced. I am especially sorry to hear of the incident in Simpson’s and trust that you have since made a full recovery. Please note that Wi-Fi... More

Staying in Trafalgar Square / Embankment

Neighborhood Profile
Trafalgar Square / Embankment
With its iconic Nelson’s Column, majestic oversized lions and brightly-lit fountains, Trafalgar Square is not just considered the heart of this bustling London hub, but the very core of the city itself. Beyond this esteemed gathering place are more famous icons, as well as a disproportionate numbers of the city’s most popular cultural attractions including the National Gallery and many West End theaters. Along the way to these major sites are quiet lanes and antiquated pubs to discover, as well as riverside vistas to enjoy on the embankment. With a calendar full of celebratory events, any time of year is a fine time to visit.
