This is a perfect London location. Easy walk to Buckingham Palace, Piccadilly, parks, underground, restaurants and shopping. We stayed seven nights. There was a bit of a hiccup with our check-in. We arrived mid-morning and understandably our room (upgraded by the way) was not ready. A promise of 20 minutes turned into several hours. There was a disconnect with the... More

Beautiful spot. Exceptional staff. Everyone was so helpful. Small room, but it was fine as I was traveling alone. Would have been tight for two. Quiet and conveniently located in Mayfair. Excellent breakfast. Wonderful afternoon tea.

Disappointing afternoon tea. Service ok not great, which bearing in mind it was empty was not a good sign. Not a great selection of desserts and had to keep asking for more. Eg only one scone each and 1.5 fingers of sandwich. Would not recommend it for anyone looking for somewhere to have afternoon tea. Not a good atmosphere or... More

We had a lovely four night stay here. The rooms (like most in London) are a little small so we had to be very organised with our luggage as we had quite large pieces. It is beautifully decorated and the bed needs a special mention as it was so comfortable. The bathroom was a good size with a shower over... More

This is one of the finest hotels I've ever stayed at. We were treated like family. Breakfast was excellent and the afternoon tea was so nice. It's expensive but the best location. When I travel back to London, I'll stay here again. The American Bar was a great place just to hang out.

I cannot say enough good things about this property. The location is great. The service is world class, quiet , cozy , comfortable, well manged and so beautifully luxurious in the best London Townhouse kind of way. After a very busy day and evening, I couldn't wait to get back to my sumptuous room for a sleep in a most... More

Excellent hotel , in the heart of London , but feels very quiet. The hotel offers an ambient relaxing atmosphere. Excellent personal service from all staff , they go out of their way to assist you and take the time to ensure that your stay is comfortable.

The Stafford is an attractive and very comfortable London hotel. Just a short walk to Green Park, an oasis in the city, and within easy access to landmarks (walk to Buckingham Palace, for instance), theaters, art museums, etc. And the staff is extremely helpful and knowledgeable.

Lovely, intimate hotel providing impeccable service with varied accommodations, ranging from early 20th century to modern, located on quiet side street with direct access to Green Park and the best of London's Mayfair area.

Staying in St. James's

Neighborhood Profile
St. James's
Perennially fashionable since the days of Henry VIII, the aristocratic “Clubland” of St James's is a premier destination for high end craft and bespoke design. Here you’ll lose count of the Royal Warrants (which indicate that the Royal Family patronizes the establishment) seen in shop front windows, even during a short stroll to bordering Green Park or St James’s Park. With the brightly lit and constantly buzzing junction of Piccadilly Circus at its northeast corner and none of Central London too far away, this is an surprisingly central and accessible part of town, especially given its prosperous demeanor.
