The room and the bathrooms were clean. The common area had WIFI and was very comfortable. The only thing was the room smelt like smoke (don't know if from the previous guest smoking or smell permeating the walls). Despite this I would go back again because of the awesome location! Walking distance to London's main icons, right in the middle... More

Stayed with 2 friends in one of the 3 bed rooms on the fifth floor. Room was clean, tidy and had enough space for us to all get ready at the same time. We were not bothered by noise and although there were people in the bedroom beside us, we did not hear anything past 11pm. Paid minimal price for... More

It looks better from outside than from inside. Breakfast is a courtesy rather than a speciality, but there are many places to eat locally. The location is excellent. Decent value for money, make sure you get a room on the top floor for a view to impress.

Came her, booked a shared rom with 3 beds. It all went quick and nicely. Paid around 22 pounds for it and got the key without any hazzle. The room was tidy and had a sink. Bed was standard cheap hotel style, nothing fancy, but functional. I slept really well. Toilets and shower was the biggest down part. They were... More

For £55 I go my own room in one of the most expensive parts of London! Staff were so lovely!! I had a very warm welcome and was made to feel very comfortable from the get go. This hotel was exactly as advertised, yes I was on the 5th floor with no elevator, but I knew that when I booked... More

If you want a well located cheap hotel that is clean this is great, very basic but does the job! A back packers hotel or if like us you will be just sleeping in the place and dong care where ( as long as it's clean and functional ) this place is fine

We have been in London for a few days. Strand Continental was perfect as it went by location. Staff were also polite and helped us. On the other hand breakfasts was absolutely basic, every day identical and really minimal. We slept in 3-person room and there was few place in fact but it was not a problem. Bunk beds are... More

Ive stayed in hotels and hostels in 16 countries and this "hotel" is the worst one yet. No attention to any detail- bed spring broken, windows didnt close, walls paper thin, and so much more (or less) than any visitor could imagine. The "breakfast" had dirty glasses, no plates, yogurt that had gone bad, instant coffee- but no cups!- ran... More

I had an office party booked for the evening and booked a single room as a place to sleep for one evening - I thought "how bad can it be for £55 a night", - well, although I checked in and left the extra £10 cash deposit for the keys, i couldnt bring myself to stay there. The single room... More

Staying in Trafalgar Square / Embankment

Neighborhood Profile
Trafalgar Square / Embankment
With its iconic Nelson’s Column, majestic oversized lions and brightly-lit fountains, Trafalgar Square is not just considered the heart of this bustling London hub, but the very core of the city itself. Beyond this esteemed gathering place are more famous icons, as well as a disproportionate numbers of the city’s most popular cultural attractions including the National Gallery and many West End theaters. Along the way to these major sites are quiet lanes and antiquated pubs to discover, as well as riverside vistas to enjoy on the embankment. With a calendar full of celebratory events, any time of year is a fine time to visit.
