Stairs up to reception from street. Pleasant greeting and efficient check in. Narrow and steep stairs. Security door to rooms. Room: 3rd floor at the front, clean and warm with hand basin, slightly shabby, no excessive noise. Bed: reasonably comfortable& clean. Shared Toilets & Showers: shabby and small, but serviceable and reasonably clean. Restaurant: nice Indian cuisine, pleasant staff. Breakfast:... More

Ideal central location and reasonably priced. Do not be out off by the tired entry. The room was clean and warm, with a hand basin and coffee-making facility. Very friendly and helpful staff. I will go there again. Walking distance to Covent Garden, and tourist bus stops almost outside.

Let's start with the positive: Located very central - only a few mins walk to Covent Garden, Trafalgar Square, Charing Cross, theater district and more. A lot of shops and restaurants, supermarket open 'til 1 o'clock in the morning right around. Positive at the hotel: The room has a sink. The staff is quite helpful. Well. That's it for the... More

Fantastic location . Needs to be updated very old fashioned. Lots of stairs . No lifts at this hotel not suitable if ur disabled. Breakfast nothing special, just toast and ceral. Rooms and toilets are very small. Wifi is only available at the lounge. More of a hostel than a hotel.

If you are looking for a cheap place to stay and be at a good location, this is an ok place to stay. The building is currently being renovated, so it was actually a bit difficult to find the entry, as it is labeled with "India Dinner Club", which is located on the first floor of the building. The hotel/hostel... More

Its a pretty dingy and depressing hotel, not that clean, staff were not the friendliest. The price was cheap but you really get what you pay for. The only saving grace is the location, but thats about it.

Absolute crap hotel. A double room consists of a single bed and blow up mattress on the floor ( which arrived after midnight ) had to move chest of drawers to allow room for mattress on the floor. The bathroom window wouldn't shut. Anyone could of walked down the stairs which were situated outside bathroom. We were on the 5th... More

I had a 2-day visit to London to visit the National Portrait Gallery, the Aldwych and Prince of Wales theatres, Covent Garden and Somerset House. The furthest I had to walk was about 9 minutes!! Was very pleasantly surprised at how close it was to everything :) Ooh, and Kings Cross was a 20-minutes bus ride - never though of... More

The overall impression is really good. The hotel/hostel is a short walk from Temple underground station (the most useful when arriving from airport/bus station) and within walking distance from everything: heading left on the first street just out of the hotel you'll cross Waterloo bridge which gives you a breathtaking view of the London Eye and Big Ben on one... Stayed with husband and two children. Floor 4 lots of stairs no lift, not good if you have lots of baggage. Room damp, smelt damp. Bedding and towels clean but they do not put mattress covers on so who knows what has been on mattress previously. Mattresses very uncomfortable with springs sticking through. Had to lay children on duvet and... More

Staying in Trafalgar Square / Embankment

Neighborhood Profile
Trafalgar Square / Embankment
With its iconic Nelson’s Column, majestic oversized lions and brightly-lit fountains, Trafalgar Square is not just considered the heart of this bustling London hub, but the very core of the city itself. Beyond this esteemed gathering place are more famous icons, as well as a disproportionate numbers of the city’s most popular cultural attractions including the National Gallery and many West End theaters. Along the way to these major sites are quiet lanes and antiquated pubs to discover, as well as riverside vistas to enjoy on the embankment. With a calendar full of celebratory events, any time of year is a fine time to visit.
