I had an office party booked for the evening and booked a single room as a place to sleep for one evening - I thought "how bad can it be for £55 a night", - well, although I checked in and left the extra £10 cash deposit for the keys, i couldnt bring myself to stay there. The single room... More

This is a hostel pretending to be a hotel. It's in the centre of the Strand and as my booking agent Venere, did not give an address, I spent ages going up and down the road before I found it.There is just a tiny entrance between a shop and another buildingIts on 6 floors without a lift and again, the booking... My bad for not checking thoroughly before booking this hotel. The location is certainly good but the standard of the rooms is prison-like at best. No shower, no TV even. What sort of hotel is this? Worse, the stairs are so narrow and steep, it is ridiculously difficult to negotiate with luggage. AVOID AT ALL COSTS ! Better to stay... More

I stayed here with my sister back in July on our great European adventure. Don't let the name fool you. This is definitely a hostel. One review will put that into perspective and make your expectations a little more realistic. We chose this hostel mostly for its location. It was in a very popular area right by many theaters and... The rooms look like prison cells, cardboard walls make you hear EVERYTHING from your neighbours and in the corridor. I didn't sleep anything in this hotel. The breakfast was not worth going either. Not even real coffee could be served. I saw a lot of disappointed faces in this place.

Positive : Location is perfect, all visiting sites are within a few minutes walk. away. Personnel is very friendly and respected what had been settled by mail. Negative : no lift, 2 showers and toilets per floor, a broken window pane... a bit expensive.

The curtains didn't stretch across the entire window, which made for an embarrassing morning, as construction workers were working on the scaffolding outside. Otherwise, no complaints at all: bed was comfortable, breakfast was good, staff were helpful, no curfew, pretty quiet.

Stayed here last night with a friend. Perfect location, paid £80 for a twin room for 1 night. Very good for that location we thought... The website should make it a little bit clearer that this is in fact a hostel, not a hotel. When we arrived we were given the key for room 56, I went upstairs and unlocked... More

As a last minute booker of hotels and regular London visitor on business I see a fair number of hotels. This is the second worst hotel I have ever stayed in. ( The Gresham in Bloomsbury is still most rubbish hotel in london ) Where do you start with this hotel? Every thing about it is poor. From the beds... More

Honestly this hotel does not even deserve one star, it was that terrible. Firstly the entrance was really hard to find & had broken steps to the reception. The girl at the reception looked like she'd rather be working at a cow farm shovelling manure. Secondly there is NO LIFT!!!! Our rooms were on the fourth floor and the schlep... More

Staying in Trafalgar Square / Embankment

Neighborhood Profile
Trafalgar Square / Embankment
With its iconic Nelson’s Column, majestic oversized lions and brightly-lit fountains, Trafalgar Square is not just considered the heart of this bustling London hub, but the very core of the city itself. Beyond this esteemed gathering place are more famous icons, as well as a disproportionate numbers of the city’s most popular cultural attractions including the National Gallery and many West End theaters. Along the way to these major sites are quiet lanes and antiquated pubs to discover, as well as riverside vistas to enjoy on the embankment. With a calendar full of celebratory events, any time of year is a fine time to visit.
