Rude charmless staff, dirty and smelly rooms and also common areas, noisy and unsafe rooms... Very disappointed... just wondering why so many people still booking... Seriously don't waste your money, there is a lot of nice hostels in london almost the same price.

The worst place I ever slept in! Noisy and bad-smelling. Unfriendly staff. The only positive thing: its location. Why the owner doesn't take care of what could be a beautiful building and a decent hotel?

Having looked at the reviews the morning before we arrived i was a little nervous as the average review said11%. We have stayed in hostels all over Europe and this certainly wasnt the worst! The receptionist was nice and helped us to the nearest cash point (you can only pay in cash which is usual for most hostels but still... More

I've read most of the review, but I thought people were exaggerating, but this is the dirtiest hostel I've seen. The staff was unfriendly, there was only one man(from the staff) who was friendly and helpful. The toilets and showers were utterly dirty. The hostel price was cheap, and now I know why. I wouldn't even recommend my worst enemy... More

Blocked toilets, dirty bed sheets, clueless staff, threadbare curtains, pungent smell of weed and shady goings on. The location is brilliant and only a 5min walk to the tube but that's the only thing going for this run-down hostel. I felt unsafe there and as a result of this I left in the middle of the night and drove home... More

The only thing good is the location However not that close to main attractions The atmosphere is very strange. Not many backpackers. Lots of creepy people actually living there. So don't ever think about going to the common room if you are female. The kitchen is terrible very dirty. The staff, one or two are nice. The majority is rude.... More

What this site has going for it is the location. Just a short, less than 5 minute, walk to Bayswater Underground station (which is on the Circle line). Also, Queens Street is just 3 blocks away which is full of places to eat and shop. We stayed in a 4 person room and it was clean and the beds comfortable,... More

Friendly stuff, not all unfortunatly. The hostel cleaned quiet often but I guess there were a lot of dirty people in the hostels, I would say like pigs. Because the bathrooms were often dirty and they cleaned few times a day.

This place was alright. Quite cheap - for the price you shouldn't expect much. I stayed in a female dorm for two nights and the beds were comfortable enough. The staff were very friendly, even when we had problems. Some of the bathrooms were clearly worse than the others, but hot water was available and the bathrooms I used were... More

Staying in Notting Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighborhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.
