The "superior" room I booked was tiny. The photos on the website must have been taken before the room's outer wall/door was put on. However, the rooms are very comfortable and well decorated. The four poster effect of the beds is a selling point. The free soft drinks and non-savoury snacks in the fridge are a nice touch of you... More

Accessibility to the underground and major tourist attractions is one of the reasons we stayed at this hotel and from other positive experiences with this chain of hotels. Use the metropolitan line and get off at the final stop at Aldgate, cross over the road as you leave the tube turn right and then first left and the hotel is... More

This hotel within the square mile is spotless, comfortable, not that expensive and had wonderful staff, there is nothing negative to say. Having stayed in Indigo hetels in other locations this one is suited well to its location with a slightly moe "traditional" style of decor as befits the business market The staff could not have been more helpfull with... Honestly have nothing bad to day about this hotel, the staff on reception were more than helpful and informative. Quick check in after a long day. Nice, big room with nice furnishings, small mini bar, espresso machine, dressing gown and slippers. Lovely bathroom, awesome toiletries. Air con perfect, comfy bed, quiet too which for London is always a bonus! Super... More

Stayed for 2 nights recently. The location is fantastic for taking a walk around the city and the deco was very contemporary. However, the desk staff are what make the hotel such a pleasant place to stay, very polite and welcoming. From the moment we stepped into the lobby we felt welcomed. This is a real gem of a hotel... A decent hotel in close proximity to the Tower of London and the City. A very short walk from Aldgate tube, and close to the Gherkin and Cheesegrater. Limited communal facilities. Just a couple of chairs in a small lobby area. Lobby toilets are down a flight of stairs. The red wall and floor tiles in the toilets, together with... More

Dear Guest, It seems that were not able to meet all your expectations but you are right in staying that for the price we charge – “ decent “ – one definitely will not be disappointed. It was worthwhile serving you and your needs. Thank you. Kind Regards. More

We had an overnight stay here after having an afternoon and evening out hitting the cocktail bars in Shoreditch and Hoxton. It's lovely, comfortable and clean with helpful and friendly staff. Reasonably priced too considering the location. It was a nice warm sunny day so we walked here from Liverpool Street, and then to Shoreditch and back without having to... More

We stayed for the weekend and loved this hotel. We've booked again! I've stayed in many parts of London and this is great, handy for the tube and the bus and it's a super quiet location too. The room was an excellent standard, Nespresso machine and Avida toiletries with a quality bed and furnishings, just what you expect of the... More

Nothing too much to this review -the Indigo Tower Hill is a small, simple boutique style hotel, very few frills but smart with lovely staff and good size, well appointed rooms for couples. Location is very good for District Line tube, and nearby buses can take you quickly to the trendy Shoreditch, or down to the river and further west.... More

Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
