Big, luxurious room with lots of perks - NOT what I expect from a London hotel! Room was comfortable, well decorated with nice perks such as free wi-fi, teas and snacks, Nespresso machine. Front desk staff consistently friendly and engaging. Location (between Aldgate and Tower Hill) very convenient for public transport.

Small property in Tower Hill. Conveniently located if you go to the City or plan to visit the Tower of London, Spitalfields, Tower Bridge, etc. The former office building was renovated in 2010 and converted into a hotel. Nice decoration, very clean, free minibar and modern bathrooms. And above all the main asset of any hotel, its team. Very friendly... More

We only stayed for one night at the hotel but it was a lovely stay. Even the roadworks on The Minories didn't diminish our stay. We arrived early and were given a room upgrade, which was very welcome, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The location is great - only a couple of minutes walk from Aldgate Tube Station,... A fantastic hotel, very friendly staff on reception and throughout the hotel. Great room and very nicely and tastefully decorated. The most comfortable bed ive slept on in a hotel for a long time. We did not use the restaurant at the hotel, as there are so many places to eat within a close walking distance, but the bar was... More

Before we had even arrived at this hotel the customer service was excellent. I emailed the night before to enquire about something and within half hour my query had been answered with a friendly email reply. We arrived an hour and half early only expecting to leave our bags there and go for a look around and were pleasantly surprised... More

Stayed at the Hotel Indigo for 5 nights, for business. Excellent location, just off Aldgate station and Tower Hill station, therefore providing easy access to tube, as well as quick reach to both City and further, as well as central London. Rooms were spacious and complete with all comfort and amenities (free bar, newspapers etc). A good selection of menu... More

My wife and I took a friday evening trip to the theatre and reception staff (having upgraded our room to a suite) arranged executive carriage to Piccadilly Theatre at a fixed price, wonderful. Room service provided an excellent mid afternoon snack with beautiful chunky chips and whilst we had a hiccup with the transport arriving 5 minutes late they jumped... More

As we were staying at the weekend, which is a quiet time in the City of London (financial district) area, we were fortunate enough to be upgraded to a kingsize room. The room was spacious and furnished in a way that was delightfully different, with contemporary art based on local features and an exposed red brick wall, all subtly lit.... More

Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
