Hotel Indigo Tower Hill was a great hotel in the financial district of the city London. Staff was courteous and very friendly. This hotel was in walking distance of the Tower of London, Tower Bridge, Hop on Hop off buses and 3 tub stations My only complaint was the food and service at the restaurant attached to the hotel. We... More

While planning a vacation at London I was looking for hotel that has no carpets and found this one. I didn't regret my choice for one minute - it was a great stay! 1. The room Good size room with hard wood floors that give the room clean and luxurious feel. High and wide four poster bed was very comfortable... More

Family trip organised to combine a West End show and site seeing around Tower of London etc. Quality hotel, rooms extremely well appointed and decor superb. Two minutes walk from Aldgate tube station. Had some late food delivered to the room and again, very good quality.

We needed a hotel that was near the Gherkin building for a weeding we were invited too and the reviews looked good along with some of the pictures so we stayed here for 2 nights from the 15th to the 17th May. I am already part of the IHG rewards but our room was upgraded to an exec room (106)... More

Note that I am rating this relative to the cost of the hotel room. This is not a 5-star luxury property. It's a nice hotel, and for its price point it is one of the best I've stayed in. I stayed here just one night. The lobby is small but nice, and the staff are great. Check-in was efficient and... More

This has got to be the best hotel I've ever stayed in. The rooms were amazing and very roomy. Everything was so clean and there was an amazing airfreshener smell everytime we came in the room. Tea and coffee facilities in the room were first class with a complimentary minibar with juice, water, chocolate and snack bars. I absolutely loved... More

Normally I don't write a review until after I checked out of a hotel. But today, I am writing this review after a few hours of checking in. This is how impressed I am. 1) The reception desk is amazingly friendly and helpful. They don't need to wait for you to ask for things like newspaper, wakeup calls, maps, etc.... More

Stayed here because it was halfway between the office and the Excel. Super convenient for that and how nice to be so close to the Tower of London and the City. Excellent staff and the room service breakfast was fit for a king. Huge room by London standards and nicely equipped with plenty of amenities. The only drawback is other... More

Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
