Staff were extremely helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Also very friendly. Rooms basic but had everything you needed. Very clean. On good bus route. Taxis were arranged through hotel cheaper than black cabs and friendly.

The owner is a very friendly guy. He is very kind and nice to everybody. He helped us in many ways as courtesies, even though it was not his obligation to help us on these things. The hotel is also near underground and DLR stations, made us easy to travel around London. It is definitely our choice for stay when... More

If you’re looking for a stay in a shiny palace, probably City Lodge isn’t a place for you. But if you want to feel welcome, it may be a perfect choice. What makes the difference in City Lodge are the people, always smiling, friendly, ready to talk or help, making you feel like at home. Of course, there are some... More

If you are looking for a good lodge within budget, city lodge is perfect. Staff are friendly and ready to assist. A few minutes from bus stop and underground train station. Good for travellers who wish to see london during the day and would like a decent place to spend the night.

I use to travel a lot during the year, but this was one of the worst place where I've ever stayed. A bed attached to three walls, a little bunker-like blocked window, dirt everywhere, nor enogh furniture neither the essentials. No words....

We slept there 2 nights. Ok the staff is friendly And the make-your-own breakfast is good. But we had bedbugs!! They didnt clean the bed so the second night we had even more bites...! The shower was dirty. There was a lot of noise from the boiler at night. The owner said that they were trying to fix it but... More

+ The hotel is well located near Bow church Tube, DLR and bus stations (buses work 24 hours). Its about 20-25 minutes to the center of London. + Though breakfast was not included into the cost of our stay, tea/coffee, toasts, eggs, bananas and cookies were always available in the kitchen. + nice staff + supermarket next door - tiny... We were in a room at the front of the building and Could not sleep at all due to busy road noise. We had to make our own breakfast in the kitchen but the only food supplied waa eggs and bread. No tea facilities or hairdryer in rooms as advertised. Did not use shower as it was dirty. I do... More

To be fair, I would rate this as better than poor, but lower than average, as there are still improvements to be made. From the outside, the building looked derelict and if you knew it was the hotel you would be very concerned and think it had perhaps shut down or think twice about walking through the door. We walked... More
