Very, very basic accommodation. Carpet was covered in stains, coffee or tea stain on shelf and all shelves very dusty. Bed linen was not the freshest. Faint smell of something too horrible to describe. One towel, one pillow, which I did not use as I slept in the chair. Apart from a bed, chair, desk, small wardrobe and a bedside... More

This is very basic accommodation, but the location next to Victoria station is fantastic, the bed was comfortable and the staff friendly. The bathroom was small but functioned ok, but I would have preferred to have two towels. I would recommend bringing a small towel with you for your face and hands. Also a bedside lamp would be a nice... More

The Goldsmid House is a great basic very reasonably priced place to stay in central London. It is a couple of blocks from Victoria Station. There are lots of restaurants in the neighborhood, and a Sainsbury market just down the street The rooms are ensuite, have free WiFi, good beds and are very clean. There is a lift. Each group... Very basic room, which was not thoroughly clean, There were coffee streaks on the wall and dust on the shelves. The ensuite was very small, a kind of portakabin wetroom, but it was clean and functional. Only one towel provided. The bedlinen did not small fresh though it seemed clean. No mattress cover on the mattress which also made me... More

This really is excellent basic accommodation, ideal for a stay in central London. Security is good and the staff delightful, so helpful. The room was spacious enough, with an immaculate en-suite and very comfortable bed. Plenty of storage space and hot water. A bonus was a large shared kitchen-diner with the facilities to cook meals if needed, lots of fridge/freezer... More

I stayed at Goldsmid House for a total of 5 nights during 2 stays and was very happy with the accommodation. Security is excellent, the dorm rooms I had were spacious, clean, and quiet, wifi was strong and free, and the location near Victoria tube was convenient. Lots of restaurant options nearby. Would stay here again.

Spent 3 nights at the start of September. Given a room on the street-facing block on the top 8th floor. An excellent lift gets you up and down.. Found it strange that only 2 of the rooms faced inwards...plus the large kitchen and other non-bedrooms. (Not a great sleeper in new semi-noisy surroundings.) A basic room with only 1 medium... I stayed in Goldsmid House for two nights in early September - paying £51 a night for my room. How things have changed since my own university days - no communal bathrooms here! I was down in London on business and the most important thing to report is that I enjoyed two excellent nights sleep. The room was also spotlessly... More

First of all, the location of the hotel is brilliant. It's just a few minutes walk from Victoria, one of the biggest tube/train/coach stations in London. It is also within a walking distance of Buckingham Palace and (if you fancy a 20 minute walk) Trafalgar Square. There is a Sainsbury's supermarket just down the road and a Pret A Manger... More

This place was perfect, except that I would have preferred a single room on the upper floors. There was no airconditioning and no fan, so the room would be rather stuffy during summer. I had to open the windows for ventilation, and from the windows, you get a view of the open grounds where people would sit on the benches,... More

Staying in Pimlico

Neighborhood Profile
Pimlico
Time spent in Pimlico is a slower-paced affair than most other Central London neighborhoods. This largely residential area orderly arranged beside the Thames, is a treasure trove of quaint pubs, subtle architectural charms and local boutiques. Here, art lovers thrill at the chance to visit the world class Tate Britain gallery for its collection of British art from the 1500s to the present. For peace and quiet and some downtime spent along the Thames, Pimlico is highly recommended.
