I stayed at Goldsmid House for a total of 5 nights during 2 stays and was very happy with the accommodation. Security is excellent, the dorm rooms I had were spacious, clean, and quiet, wifi was strong and free, and the location near Victoria tube was convenient. Lots of restaurant options nearby. Would stay here again.

Spent 3 nights at the start of September. Given a room on the street-facing block on the top 8th floor. An excellent lift gets you up and down.. Found it strange that only 2 of the rooms faced inwards...plus the large kitchen and other non-bedrooms. (Not a great sleeper in new semi-noisy surroundings.) A basic room with only 1 medium... I stayed in Goldsmid House for two nights in early September - paying £51 a night for my room. How things have changed since my own university days - no communal bathrooms here! I was down in London on business and the most important thing to report is that I enjoyed two excellent nights sleep. The room was also spotlessly... More

First of all, the location of the hotel is brilliant. It's just a few minutes walk from Victoria, one of the biggest tube/train/coach stations in London. It is also within a walking distance of Buckingham Palace and (if you fancy a 20 minute walk) Trafalgar Square. There is a Sainsbury's supermarket just down the road and a Pret A Manger... More

This place was perfect, except that I would have preferred a single room on the upper floors. There was no airconditioning and no fan, so the room would be rather stuffy during summer. I had to open the windows for ventilation, and from the windows, you get a view of the open grounds where people would sit on the benches,... More

As accommodation rates are skyrocketing throughout London, it is good to know that there is a way out when traveling on a budget. Goldsmid House is such a way: no frills, but a comfy bed and a clean room (en-suite for a surcharge). Also, the location is really convenient... I would definitely return...

I stayed here for 9 days before my dorm opened up for the term, and it was a nice, comfortable and clean room in a building with a solid location. Overall Goldsmid House is a 5 minute walk from Victoria Station and the many tube links it offers, it is within 20 minutes walking of Buckingham Palace, and there are... More

Centrally located and only 2 mins from Victoria Station, this is a great deal for around 40 odd quid a night. Very clean and has security gates (just make sure you remember to lock your door all of the time even when stepping out for a few minutes to the kitchen). As others have said, very good basic student accommodation... More

For £48 per night I got a comfy bed (yes it was basic, but comfy), wardrobe, internet via ethernet, my own bathroom, and equipped kitchen. Bed linen, towel and a bar of soap was provided. You can't beat the location walking distance to the Kings Road and Picadilly. Victoria tube and buses with multitude of destinations right on your doorstep.... More

As others have said, Goldsmid House is cheap (£45 per night), spotlessly clean, basic accommodation, and really useful to have fridges, crockery, cutlery, ovens, kettle, etc in the kitchen It's in a great location - 5 minutes from Victoria, big Sainburys within 100 yards, and 15-20 nice restaurants plus pubs within a 5-minute walk radius. It was hot internally -... More

Staying in Pimlico

Neighborhood Profile
Time spent in Pimlico is a slower-paced affair than most other Central London neighborhoods. This largely residential area orderly arranged beside the Thames, is a treasure trove of quaint pubs, subtle architectural charms and local boutiques. Here, art lovers thrill at the chance to visit the world class Tate Britain gallery for its collection of British art from the 1500s to the present. For peace and quiet and some downtime spent along the Thames, Pimlico is highly recommended.
