I stayed for 4 nights in June in a 1 bedroom apartment. Great location and excellent value for money. The kitchen was well equipped with a dish washer, washing machine, combi oven plus the usual kettle and tea/coffee provided. There were very comprehensive instructions for everything (see note below). The shower was great and the towels were large and fluffy.... More

The rooms are compact. We had a double studio, the kitchen area is divided from the bedroom area by a wall. The bathroom has a frosted glass door, so not great if you need to turn the light on at night as it does light up the whole room. The kitchen area is well stocked - good sized fridge and... More

I have to admit that I was dreading my stay here after reading some of the reviews so I was very pleasantly surprised when I arrived at the hotel. Check in was easy and the receptionist was extremely helpful. I had booked a studio and expected to have one room, but the bedroom area was separate from the living/kitchen area... More

The accommodation is clean and nice, the location is good but the price is rock and roll! You cant get cheaper in this location. I booked on booking.com and there are plenty of rooms for under £100. Wifi was pants and you might guess.

We had a "quad room" that had two queen beds and worked well for our family. Other apartments we have rented had separate bedrooms, but here both beds were in the same room (although they had their own bathrooms). The kitchen was nice and it was clean. It was cool outside when we were there, do didn't need an air... More

Good value, helpful reception, small but adequate room with everything you could want. Only problem air con didn't work so was a little warm . Really enjoyed our stay and hopefully will come again. The room was vey clean, comfortable bed coffee tea and toiletries supplied which we hadn't expected for the price

I was so nervous after all the reviews, honestly it was amazing! Me and my friend stayed for a night, the room was perfect, lovely view and the kitchenette had everything we needed. We couldn't work out the air con, but the window opened full so it wasn't a massive problem. The hotel is only around a 15 minute walk... More

We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights. It was a nice room, clean and there was all we needed in the kitchen but not dishwasher tabs. There was also tea, coffee and milk to coffee. The staff was friendly and it takes only 5-10 min. walk to the underground: Borough station. The walls are not soundproof, - we could... More

We stayed between May 19 and May 22. When we checked in I noticed that the floors were very dirty. But that was not a problem and was fixed the next day after I told the receptionist. What was worse is that the last day in the morning I woke up because I heard a noise in the kitchen. When... More

We arrived at the apartment around tea time on Friday 24th. After an afternoon at the London marathon exhibition and a morning of travel we could not wait to get back to the apartment and relax due to exhaustion. When I tried to book in the staff couldn't find my booking and initially said you are not staying here -at... More

Staying in Southwark

Neighborhood Profile
Southwark
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighborhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
