Initial problems with the apartment we were offered were dealt with swiftly, sympathetically, and efficiently by the reception staff who were patient and lovely. In fact all the staff were amazingly attentive, Julia especially deserves a mention for her sunny personality and eagerness to go the extra mile to ensure we had a great stay. Each apartment has a different... More

I stayed in the Marlin Aldgate on Friday and Saturday night in room 96 on the top floor. When we first arrived just before 2pm we were told that the room was ready but if we wanted to check in before 3pm there would be a charge of £30. We obviously did not pay this and left our luggage while... More

1 Bedroom Executive Apartment on 15th floor apartment 93 No iron - took 3 days to get - had to be borrowed from another apartment. Bedroom had not been hoovered. Hallway outside the lift was covered in muck. Took 2 phone calls and 2 visits to reception plus 2 calls to Head Office before anything was done Apartment was supposed... More

Stayed for four nights in August. Lovely modern equipped spacious apartment within approx 400 metres to Aldgate East tube station and easy access to all tube stations. Fully equipped kitchen, dining table, very comfortable soda, flat screen tv, comfortable bed (not for over 6ft - but it does say that on the website), no complaints re toilet and shower -all... I was lucky enough to win a two night stay in The Marlin Apartments, Tower Bridge, Aldgate. We chose Thursday August 6th as our first night. Not a good choice as the underground staff wer on strike. Hooray for the extra buses and help available. We eventually arrived roughly half an hour early, and were told that our apartment was... More

I am unable to comment on the 2 bedroom apartment I was supposed to get as due to a complete farce ( explained below) in which I was originally given the keys to a single room apartment. When we arrived we were met by a rather sullen trainee receptionist had seemed shocked at our arrival and advsied that she didn't... More

Would definitely stay here again. The apartments are a great alternative to a hotel, and in this case, considerably less expensive. I was on business travel for a week, and having an apartment to spread out in that was also very close to both my office and the tube station was both comfortable and convenient. I would have given the... More

5 Mins walk away from Aldgate East Station. Stayed in a cosy unit with 2 bedrooms, a common area, and a kitchenette. Pretty much a fully-equipped service apartment. The downside was that the washing machine wasn't working during my stay and calls to the reception could not resolve the issue. Other than that, the stay was a pleasant one. There's... More

Staying in Whitechapel

Neighborhood Profile
Whitechapel
Whether you're here for its dynamic street life, world class galleries or famed curry houses, you're bound to be wowed by the uniquely cosmopolitan flavor of Whitechapel. Long gone are the days when Jack the Ripper stalked its streets. And despite his mysterious legacy bringing throngs of curiosity driven tour groups to its back alleys and otherwise serene garden squares, these days you're more likely to catch a cutting edge fashionista scurrying through its age old lanes than criminals of any sort.
