Words cannot describe how awesome The Walrus is. Five buddies and I arrived at 10am on a Saturday. Upon arrival we were informed that check in wasn't until 2pm, however, they allowed us to keep our bags in a locked storage room so we didn't have to carry them while we waited for check in. Eventually, we checked in and... More

I stayed for 6 nights and loved it. Wifi is great and is available throughout the hostel. I stayed in a 6 person dorm on the fourth floor. Trains going past are very noisy but I'm a heavy sleeper and had no problems with it. Apparently the 2nd floor is worse (louder) than the fourth floor? Great location! So central... More

Our stay was cheap, for London, and the staff was very nice and always accommodating. However, that's about where the list of good things ends. The hostel is very loud. Not because of other residents, all of whom were very nice. Our window opened out onto waterloo station, and we could hear trains going by at all hours of the... More

Stayed here with a buddy my first night in London. Staff is nice, met a lot of cool people, they have a nice little bar in the lobby. My biggest complaint was that the room got incredibly hot and stuff and night, to the point where I could barely sleep. The best part about this place besides the staff, is... More

I'm a 49yo male and was a little apprehensive about staying in a hostel, this would be my first time in any hostel. Despite this, being on a 3 week trip, traveling solo through the UK and Ireland required that I keep my budget as tight as possible. The simple process of checking into the Walrus quickly put to rest... More

Having stayed at other London hostels, surprised at he relatively high ratings for this hostel. Suppose it may be the low price. Rooms right beside the main train tracks going into London Waterloo train station so have trains coming in to the station until after midnight and then they start up again early. Can be hard to sleep. Shower room... More

the staff was super, the breakfast delicious, the atmosphere was really friendly and open =) I recommend the hostel to everybody. The only disadvantage of the great location is the noise but with earplugs you'll be fine =)

The walrus was my very first time staying at a hostel, and it exceed all my expectations. The location is amazing, 2 minutes aways from the tube station, you can see big ben from the window. I was concerned about the close proximity to the train, because I'm a light sleeper, but I didn't even use the earplugs. On my... More

Well first The location is awesome! This place felt like home after only two days. The staff was great and what really made the place. I could see the London eye from my dorm window!. The bar is in point, the bathrooms clean and hanging out after hours at the picnic tables with new friends was one of the highlights... More

My first visit to London and couldn't have chosen a hostel with a better location. I found it easy to walk to all the sights, and for things a little further away the subway is literally a stones throw away. Great service, awesome little bar down stairs with great cocktails. Quite trendy. I stayed in a dorm 18 beds and... More
