Terrifically helpful staff, friendly atmosphere, clean beds, yummy breakfast, perfect location near underground station. The pub was a great eccentric spot to people watch or mingle. I felt quite safe and welcome my whole stay. This place met all my travel needs and then some! Strongly recommend it. Only tip is to bring earplugs as Waterloo station is just behind... More

Great hostel, the PUB is great, awesome environment, made great friends, and will sure go back as soon I back in UK. The runs have enough space and the shared bathroom are clean, there are rental bikes on the corner, and London Eye at walking distance.

If you want to be in the heart of London, in a Hostel and get a real English experience... then pop over to The Walrus Hostel. Yes the downsides are that showers are something that you end up lining up for, and the train tracks are right next to the Hostel.. plus the ground floor of the Hostel is a... More

The Walrus is a real mixed bag, like many other reviewers noted, the staff are great - always willing to help you out (Special mention to Jacob as he was super nice) and the location is really good, with Public transport practically on the doorstep. The street adjacent is a great street with a nice little food market (during the... More

I am sad to have to write this negative review as it all started so well. I want to begin by saying that we did know the hostel would be noisy as it is right by Waterloo station and so there is no complaint regarding that - it IS pretty noisy and our room overlooked the train tracks but it... The Walrus IS well located, 2 minutes walk from the underground staton Lambert North (Bakerloo line) and 10 minutes away by walk from Westminster. Staff is friendly But the facilities deserve 1 star: - tiny showers, if they're working, and if they have hot water - no heat in our dorm: cold and humid nights - tiny stair case and... More

I stayed here for five days on my own and had a great time. Positives are that the staff are absolutely lovely, sooo helpful and friendly, the location is faultless, the price is amazing, there's free brekkie, the pub downstairs is cool and you get a discount on a brilliant cycling tour that picks you up outside. Negatives are the... More

Excellent service, super friendly and helpful. Bathrooms and kitchen area could definitely use a reno. Very clean though. Bar attached is good, free breakfast simple but good (they supply vegemite, huzzah!). Rooms nice and spacious. I stayed in a very large dorm, but everyone was very quiet and respectful, plus the way the lighting was organised meant that you won't... More

The place is great, next to the railway and underground station, and ten minutes away from westminster. The lower floor of the building is a bar, so you can go from party to bed in a moment. The people there is great and they are helpful at any time, and in the breakfast you can eat as much as you... More

I could not have asked for a more friendly welcome, even though I was staying only one night. Clinton showed me round, he was so laid back and funny I was put right at ease. Although my room was supposed to be mixed I was with 3 other girls, all very nice. The room was cosy, the beds creaked a... More
