The staff are very friendly and helpful, and they try to accommodate your needs. The rooms are slightly cramped, but I didn't really mind as I was only there at night to sleep. The bar is very nice too - great atmosphere. I honestly loved this place!

The hostel has the best staff in London, by far. Always a smile on their faces! The place is near Waterloo train station, so it is very noisy. But after a long day of walking around, you're going to drop dead in bed, so it won't be a problem. The bar downstairs is pretty cool. Breakfast is included (continental). Wifi... More

Walrus hostel is popular as it's staff are pretty friendly. When I first arrived I had a man called Alex with dreadlocks help me up the 4 flights of stairs with my suitcase which was helpful since I'm about 5"1. However other people at the hostel told me they had to lift their own bags and hated how many stairs... More

The hostel is literally a 5 minute walk away from Big Ben. Unfortunately it is also only 5 minutes away from the railway hence it can be quite loud at night when the windows are opened. Nevertheless I would absolutely recommend the place. The staff is so helpful, friendly and just amazing. When one of the guys asked me if... More

I have stayed here two times already, always with exceedingly friendly service. The bar downstairs is great, with good selection of ales. I never had any problems with noisy co-inhabitant of the shared dorm room, and the whole place for nice and clean (certainly so for a hostel!) x

The only downside is that checking in on a weekend night is a hassle because reception is actually behind the bar, and the pub is very busy. The rooms and comfortable and clean. Location wasn't as good as it can be during my stay (Jan 2014) because of tube closures, but with the trains running normally, it's on a very... More

After getting off a 26 hour flight it was annoying that we wouldn't be able to get into our room and go straight to bed, but i am glad we didn't as we had more time on our hands and The Parliament, Big Ben and The London eye that are literally 3 minutes walk away! Slept like the dead when... More

Ok, so if you're on a budget like me, you're not going to find any cheap hostels in comparison to Asia. On a positive note, walrus is very central and really close to both Waterloo and Lambeth North tube stations. The bar downstairs is also great to chill out in and while I was staying, there seemed to be friendly... More
