We stayed for a Friday night. The bath is fabulous and worth the visit just on its own. The view from our bedroom window was of the roof and clock tower of St Pancras and was beautiful. Great location opposite the station. I would def stay again.

Found this place looking for a take-it-easy hotel on a business visit to a client's office in Kings Cross. Brilliant ethos, probably brilliant execution in 2008 but fails on basic hospitality, in fact probably infringes some basic human rights. I arrived after a long train journey and needed the toilet. And there it is - some basic advice; check if... More

The location is perfect but the room I had was so small...even if I had the family room with 2 bedrooms, I could hardly find space getting around my luggage...the beds are fine. The location is very noisy so bedrooms on the back are better. The decoration is great, a mix of old papers with nice modern bathroom.

I stayed in this hotel for 1 night before getting an early morning train to Paris. Perfect to get to the Eurostar literally just crossing the road! Hotel is nice and quirky to stay in, rooms are a little small but made up for by good service, comfortable beds and a yard out the back for us smokers. I would... More

I booked this hotel at last minute as I was already in London at the time. Myself, my sister and my mother always have a collection of hotels that we would like to stay in and this one was top of the list. So we rang up, and fortunately they had a free room - although they had originally said... More

I'd read the various mixed reviews but still really like the concept of this place and so booked it. It is a really convenient location, particularly if you're using the Eurostar because the hotel is a stone's throw from St. Pancras station. The two guys running it also seemed friendly and helpful, although we didn't interact with them all that... More

Having no idea that staying at Rough Luxe would become ONE OF THE WORST NIGHTS OF MY LIFE!!! (given the occasion), I innocently chose this hotel to stay in on my wedding night, having heard so much about it. We had no issue with the smallness of the rooms, lack of tv, house phone, slippers, dressing gown, toothpaste etc, etc,... More

Stayed with my three daughters for a trip to see the sights of London. Very impressed. Excellent location near Kings Cross was a great base for touring. While a bit noisy, it was near the A501 ring road so that's the price you pay for the convenience of the location. Kings Cross is not the most salubrious part of London,... More

I saw a review of this hotel in a magazine years ago when it first opened it's doors, and it looked like my dream hotel! I always use Splendia to book my hotels, and when I saw that the rough luxe was now in their selection, I decided to go for it (along with 2 friends), paying more than we... More

Definetely not a usual Hotel, is more like an experience. Great concept, you can feel like at home with all the support needed from the staff. The guys managing the place are really polite and frindly, you can even stay in the yard chatting with them and drinking some wine, great when you travel for business. Very clean and very... More

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
