Many years ago I worked in the City and my wife and I thought it would be fun to have a weekend in London to look around old haunts and so forth. We selected the hotel as one on the edge of the City, but from which we could get to other parts of the capital. That worked a treat.... More

A fine hotel, stayed here for two most enjoyable nights in late March 2015. Central? Totally, right beside the Old Lady of Threadneedle Street, close to 3 tube stations, 10' ride on the DLR from London City Airport. Quiet? Utterly. We got there on the Friday around lunch, just in time to see the barrow boys and the trading spivs... More

Stayed one night, room was lovely, nice comfortable bed and pillows - perfect for a quiet night's sleep. I liked the extra touches of free water, pringles and jelly beans in the room along with nice Elemis toiletries and not to forget the take away Apex rubber duck! Staff exceptionally polite and helpful. Breakfast nice as expected. Would definitely stay... More

Gorgeous room, fantastic bath, everything was spot on! Reception Service was friendly, personal and faultless. Will definitely be staying again! Great location away from main road, but still central and convenient.

I and a friend stayed here on the Friday and Saturday nights at the end of January, for £139 per night. I was really impressed - a spacious, stylish, comfortable room with a balcony, and lovely bathroom. At check-in I was welcomed by Carmen, who was friendly, helpful and charming. A few minutes walk from the Bank of England, and,... More

Well, it is a great location for business, though I was surprised given that it is a business hotel, they reserve an extra £30 a night on the credit card in case you raid the fridge. Given the clientele and the price of the room, I would be surprised they had people doing a runner!! Well, perhaps it's s football... More

Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
