great hotel, very central London for tourism, good price too. The room was large/clean and comfortable with a king size bed, also no street noise. We did get a free upgrade on arrival to junior suite, so cannot comment on other room types. We did not eat the breakfast there, it is expensive, although we were offered a 25% discount... More

Visited for a long weekend and opted to stay at a hotel over couch surfing with relatives. The staff went the extra mile to make out experience special, from a welcome glass of bubbly upon check in, to an upgraded room, and then to a note from the staff welcoming us with a box of chocolates. Loved the room and... More

I came here with my cousin as a weekend away for her 21st. I told the hotel this in advance and they kindly upgraded our room which was awesome. The room was gorgeous, those small touches really make a difference. The staff were very professional and helpful. We didn't have breakfast there so cannot comment on that. Being in the... More

My partner and I have stayed in this amazing hotel for a couple of nights and loved every minute. The staff at check in were great and made us feel really welcomed. Their names are Maribell, Kirstin, Fabrizio and Rodrigo. We have had some late room service and had the chance to meet the night managers Arturas and Renata which... More

The Apex chain of hotels is absolutely fantastic. A real delight. Having stayed in the Apex Waterloo several times and the Apex Temple Court once! I decided to stay in the slightly smaller Apex London wall hotel. I was NOT disappointed. When booking the lady on the phone made the process effortless. She had noticed that I have stayed many... An excellent hotel, high quality with a wonderful team of people working here! I recommended this hotel to friends from Germany who were visiting London. I had no previous experience of the London Apex Wall hotel and picked it for its proximity to Liverpool Street station (handy for the Stansted Express) and more importantly for its reviews here on Trip... We had an excellent stay here a couple of weeks ago when we were down in London for our daughter's 30th Birthday party which was being held at Hixter City nearby hence why we chose the Apex London Wall Hotel. I have never stayed in the City before, preferring to stay in Mayfair, but I will most certainly return to... More

Firstly, I was really impressed with the hotel and the quality of service. On arrival and check-in, we were greeted with a smile and a free upgrade to a superior room on the 5th floor (no reasons given). The room was very-much isolated and as a young couple making plenty of noise, I think it was very appropriate... The bathroom... More

Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
