Clean and comfortable. Was shown the room as soon as i reached. I was in a hurry the next morning so could not stay for breakfast. But it was full of people so felt like a good place to make friends. I booked the previous day

We chose Charlies Hotel as we needed somewhere fairly central, with private car parking, good transport links and preferably breakfast after a long night in Camden...this place was exactly what we were looking for. Slightly intimidating on arrival as it felt like you were intruding in someone's sitting room - a couple of seconds conversation with the ladies that run... More

First my sincere condoleances to Charlie's family for his passing away some time ago. Before our 2014 trip to London I stayed at Charlie's twice, in 2004 and 2007. Charlie, a friendly gentleman of Greek-Cypriot descent, ran his hotel in a good and efficient manner and during both my 2004 and 2007 trips (approx. 10-12 nights each) my stay was... More

Charlie Hotel is very good at all the important stuff - and I mean the REALLY important stuff, like a good quality bed and piping hot water with excellent water pressure in the shower. The coffee is good, strong and hot; I don't eat a cooked breakfast but from what I could see, the English breakfast looked pretty good. The... More

We stopped here as a cheap last miute option, instantly regretting it. On arrival it looks ok on the outside, until you enter then the 1960's wallpaper hits you, also possibly hasnt been cleaned since the 1960's. The carpets in the room were not clean, the double bed was rather uncomfy. We could't wait to check out of this place.... More

Stayed here on a weekend break for a birthday party. Steps to hotel dangerous, no tea making facilities, ensuite shower unable to control temperature. No bedside lamps and only 1 bedside table, breakfast was atrocious, swimming in grease and not much choice ie. no sausages!! We agree with previous comments regarding the bathroom, state of the carpets, stale smelling overall... More

We had the family room in the attic. It was clean enough and freshly decorated with fresh linen on the beds, but there are no tea making facilities and when asked, the owner/manager would not put herself out to make one for me. The en-suite shower/toilet was incredibly small and smelled strongly of urine. I didn't try out the shower... More

We stayed at Charlies Hotel for 4 nights - The room had an awful damp smell - the carpets in the room were badly stained and the staircase carpet was dangerously damaged and loose. The decor in the room was just badly painted walls with no pictures. The en suite and shower would win a price for the "most cramped... More

We stayed in a double room in September and was pleasantly surprised. The staff were extremely friendly, the breakfast was delicious and the room was clean, warm and inviting with a comfortable bed. So easy to get to all the top attractions the West End has to offer. We will return and recommend,if ever you are looking for a good... More

After a poor review when we stayed here in April, the owner invited us to return having undertaken a general refurbishment. We returned this weekend and stayed in room 25. The room was clean and spacious. The bathroom was large, modern and very clean. The cooked breakfast was good enough to set you for the day. Overall a vast improvement... More
