I booked one nights accommodation with a friend on a Saturday night at Elmwood Hotel as it was close to Kings Cross Station. We arrived early in the morning and the gentlemen at reception allowed us to store our luggage free of charge until the room became available. We returned to the hotel later that afternoon to check in and... More

Booked for one night as was a reasonable price and great location very close to Kings Cross underground. No complaints at all. Room was basic but clean and exactly what we needed. Staff were friendly and helpful plus had 24 hour check in, wifi, tv and breakfast if required. Can't expect much more for that price in Central London. Would... More

It's located in a really central position, close to the station. I booked it only because I had no other options for a reasonable price. My room was incredibly small and dirty. 3rd floor, no elevator. I read all the reviews before leaving, I had my sleeping bag with me. Plus, I had to pay a 5% more because I... More

This is a basic, functional B&B that is very well located for St Pancras and Euston stations. It's in a busy part of the city and you'd be hard pressed to find anything similar for cheaper. It has all you would need for one night i.e. bed, shower, TV, continental breakfast, wifi etc all of which tick the box but... More

On a street full of other bed and breakfasts, who seem nicer. The breakfast provided is good. The bed was so old we could not rest properly. Nevertheless it is close to St. Pancras underground and Kings Cross station.

So to begin with the single room I stayed in was a tiny room. It was in the basement, very dark and basic! I was give one towel to use after showering and to dry my hands on after using the bathroom. The shower was awful and the water wouldn't drain and there was no bath matt, so the one... More

Its cheap, and it feels cheap. However its clean, warm and dry, and is very near Kings Cross Station. Breakfast is a continental one. Excellent service, hotel will look after your bags while you explore the city, (free of charge for most bags, only pay for large bags)

Our double room was small and basic, with En Suite (bit cramped but serviceable) Looking a bit tired but clean and tidy. The decor is basic and things like a broken bedside light and no shade on the ceiling light let the place down. Wifi is provided free but there is a charge for the use of the room safe... More

This is one of my fairly rare two-star reviews. Let's start with the positives. This hotel is located centrally in London. The Underground station King's Cross St. Pancras is within sigt of the hotel (=a 5 minute walk) which means that you can go non-stop from Heathrow to the hotel (it takes about an hour). It further means that you... More

I was assigned Room #3 in the basement: it was hell! Every time someone came into the hotel it was like they were walking on my ceiling. Unable to sleep...really rotten time. My compatriots indicated it was not so loud in the upper floors. All the rooms have been converted from larger spaces into multiple smaller spaces. Don't stay here... More

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
