The room may be worth the charge but the rest isn't It's like a high class travelodge at toppish London prices. Citizen M in Southwark does it better. Room is a bit more basic but the common areas are ones you want to spend time in rather than rush through.

Just leaving a short review giving compliments to the Bermondsey Hotel and Staff. We booked a couple of weeks in advance based on previous reviews giving positive feedback on location, quality and value for money. In advance of arriving i emailed two seperate special requests 1. A view of the Shard 2. Early check in I received a prompt reply... More

The view of the cityscape from the room was fantastic with landmarks like the Shard and the London Eye on the door step. The staff at reception and in the restaurant were really friendly and the vegetarian cooked breakfast was amazing! The hotel really exemplifies the artsy/boho feel of the Bermondsey area. Perfect for exploring nearby tourist attractions, or for... More

My fiance treated me to a night at this lovely hotel for my 41st Birthday. Upon arrival we was offered an upgrade to the Lucy Suite which is the Penthouse consisting of hot tub on the balcony and an amazing view of London. What can I say, it was a real treat. The room itself is very spacious with everything... More

It is an excellent spot in a quiet square. 10 minutes walk from Tower Bridge. 10 minutes walk from Borough tube station and short distance to Shard, Borough market etc. The hotel was very clean and comfortable with helpful staff. Second time we have stayed here and would recommend for a couple of days sightseeing as a good base. The... More

Enjoyed a one night stay at the Bermondsey Square, arrived late at London Bridge Tube Station and couldn't find it, we ended up getting a taxi. Check in was quick and efficient though not particularly friendly. The room wasn't massive but big enough, modern and spotlessly clean and the bed was so comfy I slept like a log. I wasn't... More

I planned to take my girlfriend away for a couple of days down to our capital to do some things we haven't had time to do in the past but I fancied staying somewhere a little different and the Bermondsey Square hotel definitely fitted the bill. The first night we stayed in one of the normal double rooms and it... More

During my last business trip in London I chose this hotel for its location and I was surprised by the quite area and the relaxing stay I found. Hotel is clean and quality of the sleep is high. It's located in a very nice place, near to the metro station and full of restaurants. I will be back for sure.

Dear Orione91 Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. With the changes happening at London Bridge Station, I hope that the hotel will be even better served from next year but in the meantime a stroll along Bermondsey Street stopping in the occasional watering hole isn't to much trouble. What a great place. Second time that I am visiting it. Friendly staff, clean and tidy room and excellent location close to London and Tower Bridge. Highlight of the room the super comfy mattress. The cook on demand breakfast is always welcome

Staying in Southwark

Neighborhood Profile
Southwark
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighborhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
