My stay at Bermondsey hotel was my first and all I can say is I will be back. Easy to get to and only a few metres from some of the best bars that bermondsey has to offer. I arrived at check in to a extremly warm welcome and was offered a amazing 15% off food in the hotel restauraunt... More

We stayed for the night here, after a night out in London - the first time we stayed in town since moving to the country. We are sort of looking for a good reliable place to use regularly. Booking and checking in all worked efficiently. The design of the room made impressive use of space, with good ideas for the... More

We were greeted by a friendly receptionist, she advised us that the resurant did not serve alcohol, then went on to advise where the nearest supermarket was if we wanted to buy some.We were upgraded to a suite (terrific)! There was complimentary water in the fridge together with 2 wine glasses and you could even ask for fresh milk for... More

Clean, standard, decent hotel in lovely area, 10 minutes to Borough Market by walk, local streets are cute with lovely little boutique shops and great restaurants. Helpful and nice staff. It was a bit further than I imagined to walk to City Center, as you have to cross London Bridge to get to East side and any other bridge to... More

The hotel had a fantastic location and we had an amazing suite on the 7th floor with a view across the City. The decor was not really my thing (lips shaped phone, diamontes on a read leather bed etc) but it was convenient for us to stay there. To my surprise hotel seems to have some religious connotations which are... More

My partner booked a double room in the hotel before the news broke about the buy-out by some multi-millionaire muslim owner who'd decided to apply sharia law in his new establishment. It's a bizarre and woefully misguided idea and we wondered whether we'd be cold-shouldered as a gay couple. We weren't, and, apart from the policy of not selling any... More

Modern clean hotel within close walking distance to London Bridge tube station (closer than Borough and a nicer walk). The Shard and Borough market are also nearby. The square has a few restaurants and a Sainsburys and there are some nice bars and restaurants around the corner on Bermondsey Street. Would definitely stay again if the price is right!

Despite the many posts on here about this being a 'dry' hotel (which it is), the hotel shouldn't be overlooked given its great location, decent rooms and reasonable price. We paid £250 for two nights stay here as part of a Christmas weekend visit to the capital. The hotel is located in a square at the end of Bermondsey street... More

Stayed 2 nights. Basic but perfect for us. Queried service charge from breakfast and evening meal - had to pay for breakfast and then pay a service charge for the waiter bringing my breakfast to my table. I understand service charges but a bit much considering coffee tea, pasteries etc was self service. Hotel double booked my business partner and... More

Staying in Southwark

Neighborhood Profile
Southwark
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighborhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
