What a great place. Second time that I am visiting it. Friendly staff, clean and tidy room and excellent location close to London and Tower Bridge. Highlight of the room the super comfy mattress. The cook on demand breakfast is always welcome

Stayed here many times previously. Very funky 'Austin Powers' 60's/ 70's look and a relaxed feel about the place. Rooms range from great individual suites to functional but stylish rooms. Very quiet and some rooms have a good view of the Shard. The hotel forms one side of the Bermondsey Square complex which includes a small independent cinema which we... More

The hotel is really pleasant, clean and well equipped, and Bermondsey Street has a nice selection of restaurants, if you're not after the hotel's grill. Had a lovely view of the shard, which looked very pretty at night, and the hotel was in comfortable walking distance of London Bridge Station!

Great location near Maltby St. market. Huge choice of great restaurants in Bermondsey St. The hotel has a boutique feel, with well thought out room decor. Staff were friendly and efficient, and welcomed our dog too. Would definitely stay there again.

Staff friendly and helpful. Comfortable and very clean room, with view of the Shard. Convenient the for the O2 via the 188 bus! Breakfast everything you require and nothing too much trouble. Only one problem shower door did not open fully due to Rainforest shower head, not a problem unless you're slightly larger built!

This is now fully halal, so don't stay here expecting pork sausages, bacon rolls or alcohol in the bar. Other than that disappointment, it's a nice, friendly hotel, tucked away in Bermondsey and very clean.

We got a good deal on the Lucy suite and it lived up to expectations. The hot tub is very large and overlooks the london eye etc (in the distance). The room was very comfy. I would highly recommend for a relaxing evening.

We had a fantastically comfortable 3 night stay at Bermondsey Square Hotel. The staff couldn't be more accommodating and friendly. The room was warm, quiet and had great views. We used the restaurant once and the food was really well cooked and presented. Breakfasts also were of good quality. This is a great place to stay, to be so near... More

We stayed here on Saturday night for a family celebration in Borough market and then a restaurant nearby. It is an easy walk from London Bridge Station past the Shard with Tower Bridge just around the corner. From our bedroom window we could see the London Eye, the Shard and Tower Bridge! The room and en-suite were fine, the breakfasts... More

We picked this local hotel for our first night away post baby. Having a three month old and nine months of pregnancy leaves little room for romance, so a night away was needed! We had heard that there was a 'no drink' policy which didn't bother us as Bermondey Street is a regular haunt of ours, full of bars and... More

Staying in Southwark

Neighborhood Profile
Southwark
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighborhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
