I live near the hotel and my mom stayed there recently. The room was beautifully decorated, quiet and had a view to Bermondsey Square. The staff at the hotel were very helpful and nice. Their lobby area is very pleasant and cosy, so a good meet up place for planning the day.

Recently updated, cute and quirky. The Bermondsey area directly nearby has lots of great restaurants and bars and is much less busy than other areas of London. This hotel would be great for a weekend getaway or a business trip. It's well priced, the rooms are clean and a bit funky. There is a grocery store and a small cinema... More

I booked the lucy suite for my husbands birthday , even though there were building works going on in the hotel that did not take the shine if the lucy room . The room was amazing and everything we expected if not more , we bought a bottle of fizzy at the small supermarket opposite the hotel and the staff... More

Dear Vicki_H You are most welcome. We are adding six Terrace rooms on our 1st floor to be completed by the end of September, that will be a bit less pricey but offer some delightful outdoor spaces that you may also wish to consider on your next stay. More

There was some good and bad with our stay here in August 2015. The frustrating...they were working on the hotel, and there was CONSTANT and LOUD drilling EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. starting at 8am!! Not awesome for a vacation...a start time of 10am or so for noisy construction work would have been more reasonable. On our last day, around 9am or... More

My sister, daughter and I stayed at the Bermondsey Square Hotel in November, 2014. We found the hotel very small, but the rooms were clean and the staff very friendly. The location was pretty good; walking distance to Tower Bridge and Tower of London, and tube (good 15 minutes). Small convenience store across the square.

Biggest disappointment with this review? The fact that TripAdvisor only allows me to rate it a maximum of 5 stars, when it most certainly deserves more. It's rare that I've come away from a hotel feeling just so pleased with a new find, so I'd award it a star based on the following criteria. 1st star: The place IS in... More

I recently stayed at the Bermondsey Square Hotel with my mum. We found the hotel clean and comfortable, room facilities and food good. the staff were very welcoming. The hotel is in an ideal position to access central London with places to eat near by. We would stay there again

I have written over 180 reviews on Trip Advisor and believe in the power of feedback. I hope you find my review helpful. I used hotwire and did not pick this hotel myself. The rate I got was excellent at 105 GBP per night all taxes included. This is a great rate for a 4 star hotel in London. However,... More

At first sight the entrance is very modern and stylish and we where greated very nicely on checkin. Our room was clean and beds are comfortable, our bathroom was in need of a little tlc but still clean. We wern't told of any building work going on from early morning but thought this ok as we would get an early... More

Staying in Southwark

Neighborhood Profile
Southwark
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighborhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
