We are currently staying in this hotel as we are doing some works in our flat. The hotel is actually ok (well decorated rooms, clean, comfortable bed, nice area) but the service is awful to say the least. It all starts with the receptionist who says we have to pay extra for breakfast when my reservation clearly states that continental... More

Lovely location, great rooms (a funny shape and a step up to the bathroom though) friendly staff but no bar. Not sure what the policy is here but they don't sell alcohol. Not a disaster if you know in advance but a bit of a shock if not. Not cheap.

Dear NinjaDetective I admit that the large bar on the Ground floor has been a little confusing whilst we finalised the new plans but now the contractors are on site, I trust that within a few weeks the new look lounge will be very inviting for our guests and neighbours to enjoy, coffee's & refreshing mocktails throughout the day. Guests... More

Lovely boutique hotel for London city centre. I stayed one night on business and found the hotel very nice - spacious, clean and bright compared to other places in London. It comes with breakfast - cooked as well as continental buffet. The staff at reception were very pleasant and helpful. I would stay here again.

I stayed for 1 night last week on a short business trip. Checked in by a very efficient receptionist who also took my R/S order after my long day. My room was on the 4th floor which was modern, spacious, clean and very comfortable. I had a stunning view of the Shard which was great to see at night and... More

We chose this hotel because we had good experience before. The location is great, few minutes walking to London Bridge and The Tower, good connection to underground. The room is not so quiet but it is clean, there is comfortable bed, facility for ironing, coffee and tea maker, hairdryer, vanity kit. The only negative thing is that serving of alcohol... More

This is an EXCELLENT value for money hotel. They really take care of your needs. Very friendly and helpful. The room is clean. Plenty of room even if it's a standard size. Lovely view of the shard from our room. Free water in the fridge. I would difinitely recommend this hotel...especially for a night out in london bridge or Bermondsey... More

We wanted a London Hotel that would be happy having our dog stay, this one was perfect. Room was standard style and had plenty space for our little Dachshund to move around. We even arranged a dog sitter for a couple of evenings and the hotel was fine with this too. Dog bed and water bowl were in the room... More

Dear Neil I I am delighted that you and your pooch enjoyed your stay. Since the hotel opened in 2009 pets have always been welcome albeit I had to draw the line last year when I had a request for two Mastiff's from Brazil that were reported to be the size of small horses. Hope to have you back again... More

I stayed here with my partner from 23rd - 25th May. The check in was quick and easy and the girl on reception was pleasant. The room was lovely, it was clean, comfortable and very quiet. It was located in an excellent area, a great variety of café's, restaurants and bars at the door step and only a 15 min... More

Something has happened to this hotel since I last stayed in this hotel back in October 2014. Has there been an ownership change as hotel no longer serves or allow alcohol or serve pork? I chose to stay in the Bermondsey Square Hotel this recent weekend (16 May to 18 May) while visiting London for a short visit. I liked... More

Dear BigDadd Thank you for your comments. I am sorry that you noticed a change since your last stay. Following the sale of the hotel last year a new policy on the sale of alcohol was implemented but far from discouraging the consumption of alcohol, we actively encourage our guests to use the Sainsbury's to purchase drinks that they can... Staying in Southwark

Neighborhood Profile
Southwark
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighborhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
