There was some good and bad with our stay here in August 2015. The frustrating...they were working on the hotel, and there was CONSTANT and LOUD drilling EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. starting at 8am!! Not awesome for a vacation...a start time of 10am or so for noisy construction work would have been more reasonable. On our last day, around 9am or... More

My sister, daughter and I stayed at the Bermondsey Square Hotel in November, 2014. We found the hotel very small, but the rooms were clean and the staff very friendly. The location was pretty good; walking distance to Tower Bridge and Tower of London, and tube (good 15 minutes). Small convenience store across the square.

Biggest disappointment with this review? The fact that TripAdvisor only allows me to rate it a maximum of 5 stars, when it most certainly deserves more. It's rare that I've come away from a hotel feeling just so pleased with a new find, so I'd award it a star based on the following criteria. 1st star: The place IS in... More

I recently stayed at the Bermondsey Square Hotel with my mum. We found the hotel clean and comfortable, room facilities and food good. the staff were very welcoming. The hotel is in an ideal position to access central London with places to eat near by. We would stay there again

I have written over 180 reviews on Trip Advisor and believe in the power of feedback. I hope you find my review helpful. I used hotwire and did not pick this hotel myself. The rate I got was excellent at 105 GBP per night all taxes included. This is a great rate for a 4 star hotel in London. However,... More

At first sight the entrance is very modern and stylish and we where greated very nicely on checkin. Our room was clean and beds are comfortable, our bathroom was in need of a little tlc but still clean. We wern't told of any building work going on from early morning but thought this ok as we would get an early... More

Excellent service from a very warm and keen staff , Great eating places and pubs , very close by, Bermondsey is funky and still not that crowded like Central London, Free Wi-Fi , that worked smoothly without cumbersome passwords-very good Appreciate the complimentary water and fresh milk service. Had to change reservation date after booking and staff was very helpful

Whilst walking around the Bermondsey area, we passed the hotel which looked very modern and attractive having been recently renovated. Our group went in for coffee and we were impressed by the welcome we received. The decor is lovely, very chic.

Really enjoyed my stay at this hotel and within10mins walking distance of London Bridge station. Staff were all lovely. Has everything you could need, loved the rain shower! The bed was huge and a great view of the shard. The restaurant has changed downstairs from when I last visited - really like what they've done! It's more of a casual... More

Staying in Southwark

Neighborhood Profile
Southwark
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighborhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
