Can not believe places like this are legal and they can actually charge you to stay in a slum like this! The staff are ignorant and the manager couldn't care less. There were 9 of us and we booked a 9bed dorm so that we would be together. We specifically requested this and booked it a month early so we were... More

We decided to try a budget hostel on our recent visit to London, upon arrival we knew it was going to be a bad idea. The Hostel is in a large building accessed by a red carpeted entrance, once inside the place is very open with large rooms throughout. We headed to the recepion where the staff did little to... I stayed here just one night, so i could be near the British Museum and Petrie Museum. The hostel was £10 and included breakfast! (only tea/coffee/fruit juice, toast and cereal) You have to leave a £10 refundable keycard deposit and a locker (under the beds) is £1.50. A tip maybe to take a high bunk as if you sleep on... More

Centrally located and cheap for a single person. The bathrooms and toilets were very clean. The beds however were not too comfortable and also were pretty short for my height. Noise from roadside traffic affects rooms facing the roadside

This is a very basic place to stay, but is also one of the cleanest hostels I have ever stayed in. I was lucky enough and grateful to have an 8-bed dorm, with ensuite bathroom, all to myself, as February seems to be slow time for travellers. And the room was carpeted (also clean) and very quiet, which I really... More

Stayed here with a group of about 30 from our running club when attending the National Cross Country Championships Feb 2015. Our room of 6 bunks was clean & warm, bathroom new, clean with a good shower. Yes hostels are noisy places with people coming and going at night but that is to be expected. Simple but fine breakfast in... More

I had a pleasant 1 night stay at Smart Russell Square Hostel on 14th February. The staff was very friendly on arrival, with easy check in, room key card and bed linen (with £10 deposit) provided. The 16 bed mixed dom (room 12 - basement) was easy accessible and was good (i had a middle bunk bed) and i liked... More

The worst hostel I have never booked. Do not book it. London is plenty of much better hostels for the same price. It is really dirty, uncomfortable beds and rooms. Disgusting smell... Room very cold. It is not sanitary.

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
