The stuff was nice and friendly, bedsheet was clean, the breakfest is toast, butter and jam with milk, tea or coffee. I loved the location, it is perfect. The place is a bit noisy, especially if you sleep in a 15 beds room as I did, but I got what I expected.

I am writing this review because I feel the hostel is somewhat hard done by in some of the reviews. I suspect the authors are by and large not familiar with London prices and topography - you simply will not find anything remotely as cheap in a comparably good location. What's more, in London, you can easily find much worse... More

We stayed here for one night in November, it was one of the few hostels in London we could actually book for one night - most require a minimum of 2. The location was great and close to a tube station (Russell Square). There was 8 of us meeting for a reunion so we booked an 8 bed dorm with... More

Here's a story for you: We roll in after a night out at 3am. One of our friends had raced to the train station earlier, so if he went back home now he wouldn't be able to drive his car back home. We took him into the hostel, doorman has no problem with it, he crashed on an empty bunk.... More

## POSITIVES 1. Staff were friendly. The doorman always greeted me with a smile, and the baggage check person (Ryan) had a nice conversation with me. 2. Location was very convenient. It was within walkable distance of the tube station (Russell Square) and a supermarket. 3. Beds had a curtain to draw which hid your bed from the room and... More

The cleaning of common areas is very good, but the room is weak. The lockers are rented, what makes the small room stick with several bags scattered on the floor, so it is a bit difficult to walk. There curtain on the beds, which guarantees some privacy. There is not much availability wall outlet. The girls bathroom of the shared... More

Staff was friendly and helpful, and good location just around the corner from the Russell Square Tube Station. Breakfast is basic, just corn flakes, white bread, jam, tea. I did not see any coffee. Strange. The 6-bed dorm room is basic, tiny and narrow, bunks stacked three high. A big surprise was having to pay 1.5 pounds to ‘rent’ a... More

Ii stayed in Smart Here for 2 nights and got charged 40 pounds per night, 20 euros extra per night in order to stay in a girls only room. One of the male staff members entered the room without knocking the door when I and some other girls were semi naked so I feel that it was abusive from them... More

I stayed at Smart Russell Square Hostel with my sister for seven nights in November and we were posotively surprised when we got there. Having read other reviews before going there, we didn't expect much but actually it was a very nice stay for a few days. The staff was friendly and helpful. Everything (including the showers and toilets) was... More

I booked an en suite dorm room but arrived to find they'd overbooked and put me in a room without a bathroom. It wouldn't have been as bad, were it not for the fact that they are renovating the building so the nearest toilets (on on another floor!!) were closed leaving the whole hostel to use one set of unisex... Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
