The wlan didn´t work at all, the staff of the hostel was unwilling to fix it and very unfriendly. The breakfast was rotten, better spent 3 pound for a sandwich and coffe around the corner. Beds are pretty short and slim, if you are over 1,80m you have no chance to have a good night, also the bedding had dirty... More

I have never stayed in a place that charged 5 pounds just to use a towel. They also try to charge 10% on top off the bill if you pay by debit card - get out cash first to avoid it. Beds are far too short, I'm 5 foot 6 and touched head and foot. It was noisy. shabby and... More

To be greeted by carpet upon arrival is what you will see as you climb the few steps leading to the accommodation which kinda filled me with dread, thinking tacky. However no the place is alright really, at reception check in is pretty painless you get your sheets and keycard Which you will need for your room door and bed... More

There were a lot of people there when i went here, it was just too much, every single bed was occupied, and all rooms full. I didn't sleep well in any night because people came in and out all night. The pictures on the website showed a curtain for each bed but this isn't true, i didn't have one and... More

I have never checked in and out of a hostel so fast! We waited politely while the 2 people at the front desk finished having their conversation and were then rudely checked in while they continued gossiping to each other, which stopped when they informed us that we needed to pay a deposit for our sheets and keycard! The main... More

Smart Russel Square was the most shabby hostel i have ever been to. The beds were so short that non of the guys that traveled with us could sleep in there, because the beds were like 175 centimeter long. The electricity didn't work, so they send some drunk into our room in the middle of the night to poke the... More

I stayed here with a group of friends for a reunion weekend, it was easy to find and the price was good. The room was well laid out, but the space was a little tight when everyone was trying to get ready together. There was a strong smell of chlorine and bleah, which was a bit off puttinh but at... This place is horrible. Firstly they tell you that it is 10 minutes from Kings Cross but it is more like 25 minutes walk. The staff had no idea what I wanted and wouldn't consider an early breakfast for my early departure. The breakfast was chaos and I couldn't even get anything so I just walked out on the first... Rude unpersonal staff, terrible showers, charge for luggage lockers, and to top it of they put me in a bed which was already occupied, therefore I was woken up at 3am by a guy with a flashlight screaming I was on his bed. Messy desorganized breakfast, noisy night, and keeps going...

Upon arriving to the hostel, I was greeted by a v. rude receptionist who wasn't v. polite nor did he answer my questions & asked for a £10 deposit (with no explanation). The room I went into was as expected - Double bunks all over, luggage everywhere, v. crowded & a distinct smell. There wasn't enough sockets so literally u... More
